I can't say that this laptop is the best I've ever used but, for such a nice price ($250 on sale), it is a great deal! It's a little slower than I might like, and a bit clunkier. The keyboard is a little "springy." But for what I paid, it's a fine little workhorse. It's nice to have a CD drive, and the display is pretty crisp.

I bought this laptop for my 8 year old primarily for watching videos and on-line gaming. For these activities, this laptop is great. She doesn’t use MS Office or other app’s outside of Firefox and IE as web portals to YouTube, Vimeo, Vudu and gaming sites. The display is adequate for her non-discerning eyes and the case is fairly robust given that she doesn’t take any special care with it. The battery life is greater than 2 hours of continuous use. The vga port on the side doesn’t allow the cable to be screwed in, so use the HDMI port instead. The onboard video card isn’t the greatest, but again, for an 8 year old kid, it’s acceptable, especially on a 42” LG HDTV. It’s probably pretty good for a student, but I’d recommend a better machine for any type of business applications or for serious software applications.

A good solid laptop for my granddaughter for her grade school studies. One of the few economical laptops that still offered a CD drive built in. Battery life is also fairly decent.

First things first, I am very tech savy and have a very expensive gaming rig, however Im also a student, and needed something portable that couldnt be used for ANYTHING other than web surfing (online classes), MS Office, and email. This little machine is just what I needed. Im used to blazingly fast connections and snappy i7 3ghz+ processors. On my gaming rig this is great, I can run anything, but as a student with ADHD this would only get me into trouble. This machine keeps me focused on the task at hand and free of distractions. One bit of advice, be sure you remove the bloatware and turn off nonessensial processes. It will run much smoother and will help your battery life as well =)

This is a great little budget laptop for class or portable media server. Its Windows 10 so it will have the latest features and boots up pretty fast for what it is. Only the initial boot and setup took a few hours as it updated and restarted a few times. Get rid of the bloatware you don't need and its ready for use. Battery is about 4 hours unless you are just typing and using very little power which it goes up to 6 or 8 hours.

My old laptop crashed with an unrecoverable hard drive, so I was looking for/needed a quick, and small budget laptop for work. This fit the simple specs list that I had. I just needed Windows, at least 4 gb RAM, and preferably an Intel Processor over an AMD. This has all of that. Yes, there is a 'budget' pentium, but it is better than a celeron - which is what most other laptops had, at the price I paid. (Mind you, I bought this open box) The keyboard took a little getting used to, as the right shift key is small and the keys are slightly raised. Sturdy build, solid sound, able to handle multiple tabs and windows open (with music/video streaming) without lag .-running on 100 MBps connection I have not tried any photo/video editing yet, or gaming; but this would not be the laptop one would buy if looking to do complex edits or serious gaming. All in all, a good buy for basic use.

I wanted a basic laptop for a young person who does not take care of their property. I was unwilling to spend more than $200, but still wanted a decent laptop. This laptop fit the bill it was right at my price range, and had all the basic features, including a DVD player. It has functioned very well, and had not failed at any task thrown at it thus far.

I have purchased 4 ASUS brand laptops for my family. The 1st time we were just looking for a little laptop for easy transport, and found one that was on clearance for $179, due to being an open-box product. That was over 10 years ago and it is still an excellent PC. The other 3 have been purchased over the last year and they all are excellent laptops.

The on/off button on the keyboard is hard to get used to. I have accidentally hit the button a couple of times. It appears to be a bit slow so I would not recommend it for work.

I was looking for a lap top to take with me on trips. It is a full size lap top. It was very inexpensive but does what I wanted it to do. My grandkids can play games and I can do email and watch videos. It is slow and the screen resolution is not the greatest but for the low price it is fine for my needs. It has a DVD drive and 2 USB ports.

We needed a laptop for my wife, she is a teacher and the one provided by her district was horrible, so this ASUS laptop proved to be just fast enough, just enough memory and fit our budget , it was a great buy.

Not a bad laptop better than lenovo's bad keyword layout. For the reasonable price, the performance is much faster than same level 4G processor with lenovo.

I bought this for my girlfriend so that she could do her school homework. Performance was not bad considering that it is a very low cost laptop and is only intended to cover basic necessities. However, I was forced to return it as the video graphics is horrible. I initially thought it had to do with the driver but, after upgrading it, I realized it was just a really bad video card.

Needed a new basic computer and was surprised that most above this price point did not have a DVD drive which I needed. It seems "thin" is more important now days. I'm still not a fan of W10 but after a long process of start up / set up and up dates it seems to work fine. Bought an HP first for more money but it would not finish set up.

My previous Laptop received a punch from Hurricane IRMA, so purchased this ASUS. I wish I would of had the time to have researched this particular system, for I would of liked a bit more Processor speed and a few other improvements AND would of definitely had the Geek Squad remove Windows 10 for it is so loaded with bloatware and is way to intrusive for me. Bring back Win XP, I SAY !!! But the whole entire picture is that ASUS is a very good product and would by the brand again....

The keyboard has a nice raised layout, however with no option of downgrading without spending more money, I find this computer INCONVENIENTLY SLOW on Windows 10.I had to return the first laptop because the space bar squeeked whenever typing something long and drawn out, such as this review. I also got a better deal when i returned it because I was unaware of the upcoming labor day sale that weekend. Thus, I originally paid $329.99+ Tax the Thursday before labor day. I got an even better deal at $229.99+ Tax. Great little laptop for that price. For the regular price, I'd pass altogether and wait to buy a better quality, faster laptop.
