If you are looking for a newly spec’d laptop with plenty of power, a beautiful display and a fairly decent GPU. Then You might want to consider the asus vivobook pro 15. I’ve had several days to see how much better the Intel ultra processor versus a non ultra. And I will start off by saying that I love this laptop. It’s built solid with a premium feeling chassis and a very nice color that seems to be fingerprint resistant, very sleek! If you are a power user then I’d recommend this as this new Intel processor is powerful enough for any task you throw at it. Also great for gaming as well(for the most part) Basically the new meteor lake are new chips with ai processors called neural processing unit which are mainly added in for AI workloads if you need it,same powerful P Cores for demanding workloads and programming and E core that help use way less power than before and it shows in my case, I was able to use my laptop for 2 days with moderate use and I didn’t have to charge. Eventually I plan to get into YouTube and will need to edit videos and I’m sure this laptop will help make things easier and faster for me. If you don’t need the power now, I’d still recommend this unit since the price for what you get is worth it. This laptop comes with 16gb of DDR5 @5600mgz (fast) which is plenty. Also you get a Gen 4 1TB nvme ssd and an Nvidia rtx 3050 6gb gddr6 which isn’t new but this isnt really targeted towards the “gamer” crowds. Moreso aimed towards the power users. But with that said I still tested out a few games just to see and I can not in all good faith recommend this if you are solely looking for a gaming laptop. Unless you like playing basic games like DoTA,Minecraft or games like sports or racing. Even with DLSS it doesn’t perform very well at demanding AAA titles. Just a fair warning. But if you are like me and care moreso about future proofing, design of the laptop and a beautiful screen then I highly recommend. Being that you get an actual 1080p OLED screen that is so vibrant and beautiful to look at, even has only vision. I like to lay in bed and watch movies and tv shows and man this screen is amazing and the perfect size. It should be since this screen was design for video or photo editing in mind. But again you don’t need to be a content creator to buy this laptop. It’s worth it at the retail price. Other notable features are the Dolby speaker which are “Dolby atmos” but it’s hard to tell since I have Dolby atmos soundbars. Tho I will say the audio is clear and loud. You get a webcam that feature windows hello(think faceID). This works very well and is a nice feature to have in stead of typing in your password Everytime. You can close the shudder as well for privacy. Plenty of ports to add mouse and 2 monitors for more productivity. Backlit keyboard is standard white with customizable brightness levels. Runs cool and quiet even under load. Doesn’t burn my legs after longer sessions using it. You really can’t beat this at this price. Really is a great value. Only gripes I have is I wish it was a 120hz screen and touch enabled with some sort of pen support as well. Even if it raises the price ever so slightly. I feel like nowadays, touch screen should be standard and 120hz panels as well. Minor issues but that would have made this laptop perfect in my eyes. Still tho I love asus maybe I’m biased. But they make some great products at fair prices. You can’t go wrong here. Happy shopping and good luck with your purchase.

The ASUS - Vivobook Pro 15.6" OLED Laptop - Intel Core Ultra 7 - NVIDIA RTX3050 6GB with 16GB Memory - 1TB SSD is a solid investment. I have not been disappointed in its performance. The AI-enhanced Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor provides more than ample processing power for ease of use when multitasking. I have not experienced issues such as extended lag time or freezing. To test the processing power, I ran the USDA's soil survey map. When I zoomed into an area of interest, the GIS (Geographic Information System) updated the view immediately. WIth computers that have slower processing, these images take time to update from view to view. In addition, I also tested it simultaneously while using Google Earth. When panning or zooming in or out of views, the images updated immediately with no lag time. I couldn't even make it to "two- one thousand" when counting in my head for refresh the times. Running two large programs simultaneously was no problem for the processor. A fully drained battery takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to fully charge. The battery life has been sufficient for working throughout the day without the power cord attached. I prefer to work unplugged due to the exposure of magnetic field radiation that all computers and laptops give off while plugged in. Small amounts do add up over time. If you want to see how much time your battery has left, you can go to: Setting Icon >> System>>Power & Battery. I am currently at 15% battery and it says I have "Estimated: 2 hours 12 minutes remaining." This is while just viewing the internet and sending emails. When I opened a roblox game, it dropped immediately to 13 percent and 12 minutes left. After I closed the gaming program and went back to basic tasks, it jumped back to 1 hour and 48 min left. So for less demanding programs, this laptop can run for a long time without needing to be plugged in. Next, I tried out the webcam capabilities. The camera does very well in low light and shows a crisp image without needing to adjust any settings. It has ASUS Adaptive Lock that senses your presence, locking the device when you step away and logging you back in with face recognition when you return. I don't care for biometric sensors, so this feature won't be used in my case. For those that do like it, that feature is available. The keyboard is well laid out and easy to use. There is nothing I can think of to add to the keyboard. It has both backspace and delete buttons. This sounds like standard stuff, but when you get a name brand expensive laptop that doesn't have a delete button, it's perplexing. The back lit keyboard is nice when working in dimly lit locations. You can easily adjust the keyboard lighting with the F4 function key. It is low, med, high and off. The F keys are above the top row of numbers on the keyboard, and are well identified as to each one's function. Screen brightness is F5 and F6. There is a second number key pad to the right. This keyboard is awesome! The mouse pad is an ample size and contains the Virtual Asus Dial on the upper left corner. This is a new feature, and if you're not familiar with it, I would search up how-to videos about the Asus Dial. It is compatible with Adobe Photoshop and has more than 60 available functions that can be programmed to suit your creativity needs, things like brush related functions (size, hardness, and opacity, layer, zoom, undo, etc). You get the idea. Once you customize and program the Virtual Asus Dial, while you are using the compatible programs, it will pop up on the screen when you tap it on the mouse pad. There are ample ports for most every connection you would need, no extra attachments to lug around. It has an ethernet port, SD card reader, 2 standard USB-A ports, HDMI port, (2) USB-C ports which are classified as Thunderbolt 4 ports. Thunderbolt 4 ports provide added bandwidth for transfers of huge files of high-resolution video and other large data files from storage drives needed for editing. The picture resolution and colors are impressive. The graphics for gaming are amazing and frankly unexpected. This was mainly intended to be a work computer. Now I can do gaming on it too, BONUS! The Harman Kardon quad- speaker Dolby Atmos audio system completes the gaming experience. I had to turn down the sound because the car revving was way too realistic and loud, a conversation was impossible to have. I have also enjoyed the music quality while playing music videos around the house as I get tasks done. I crank it up to see if the speakers can hang, and they have not crackled yet while booming. This laptop is large. It has a beautiful, large screen and full keyboard. The bottom of the laptop has the largest elevation / non-skid bumpers I've seen on a laptop. This allows for better ventilation and cooling. As I'm working, typing emails, I don't hear the fan noise at all and the laptop is cool underneath when it's used on a desk or table top. When I was gaming, the fan turned on and there was a faint high pitched noise that the fan made. That was annoying. If I had had the speakers on, I might not have noticed it though. However, the laptop did remain cool. The only main drawbacks for me are that it is not touchscreen, and the weight of the unit (combined with power cord) when transporting. When I weighed the laptop on my food scale, it came up 4 lbs and 4 oz. With the charging cord, it added another 1lb and 4 oz. The total together is 5 lbs 8.5 oz (roughly 5.5 pounds). My daughter says that she doesn't mind the weight and would gladly carry it in her backpack going from classroom to classroom for school, so it depends on the person. For me to carry it around all day, that would not be ideal. However, sitting on the desk and not transporting it, it's perfect for me. Knowing these details can help you determine how this laptop fits your needs.

The Asus Vivobook 15 OLED is more of a productivity laptop than a "gamer" laptop in a good way. Arriving in low key brown packaging, you receive the laptop itself, a 200w PSU and some basic inserts. The Asus Vivobook is very solidly built. The bottom is plastic but the top is a carbon/metal type material that is very solid and aesthetically pleasing. Like most modern thin and light laptops, it is light and portable yet packs some decent power. Weighing in at 4lbs 4.43oz (5lbs 8.9oz w/ PSU, the Vivobook has a wonderful muted look with zero RGB. It does have a nice backlit keyboard that can be dimmed but the color is a nice, fixed light blue. I really like the professional look and feel of it. Powered by the Intel Ultra 7 155h, what you end up getting is better efficiency and battery life while maintaining decent performance. Cinebench R23 is ~18000 which means while it is a far bit behind the more powerful 13th and 14th gen i9 chips and even AMD's 7945hx chips, but it still gives you the performance of roughly a 13650HX. For my usual day to day uses, it was plenty powerful enough. The Ultra 7 155h actually has the same core count as the top end Ultra 9 185h. It is just clocked slower. With Intel's design of boosting as high as possible to achieve maximum performance, do not be alarmed to see the laptop hitting in the 90s under heavy load and adjusting its clocks accordingly. The Vivobook comes with both integrated and dedicated graphics. Integrated is powered by Intel's fairly new ARC graphics but for better gaming, there is also the dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050. With such new tech included, I am not quite sure why this is paired with a RTX 3050 and not the RTX 4050 at least which has access to newer gaming technologies including frame generation. Playing both Fallout 76 and World of Warcraft Dragonflight (my two main games) I quickly had to dial back the detail settings at 1920x1080p to get decent frame rates which is to be expected with an RTX 3050. I can definitely game but I had to temper my expectations with the settings. Once set properly, performance was more than acceptable. If gaming is a priority for you, you might want to step up to a more powerful model of the Vivobook. 16GB of memory and a 1TB drive will get you by for most day to day tasks, but I can see needing a bit more on both ends for heavier lifting down the road. To complement the muted more professional look, Asus uses "MyAsus" software instead of "Armory Crate" to handle all the needed functionality and I actually prefer the look and feel of it compared to Armory Crate which I've used on their motherboards and other more gamer focused Asus laptops. The real star of the show to me is the OLED display. This is my second laptop using a 15.6" OLED display and when you've used conventional IPS and VA panels for so long, the beauty, clarity and inky dark blacks of an OLED display is pretty impressive. This carries over not only in playing games which look spectacular but also normal productivity use. OLED panels have come a long way but they are still suseptible to burn in. Luckily, Asus does include software to combat this as best as possible. I do a lot of robotics and Raspberry projects so I had the Vivobook on the go and it held up easily for the 5-6 hours I used it unplugged to log real time data and write ups. It connected to the multiple wireless networks while working along with a hotspot. It is so light and small it makes it easy to slip into a backpack or multi-item carrying case pretty easily. I do have a few complaints though. My major complaint is every port except one is on the right side of the unit including the power jack. While I am a lefty, I do use my mouse with my right hand and having the power cable, mouse cable and a few USB devices plugged in turned the right side into a chaotic cabling mess. My other complaint is subjective, but I do wish the keyboard had a bit more travel/feedback for my liking. Overall, outside of a few cons, I very much like the Asus OLED 15 Vivobook and it has officially taken the place of my Acer OLED 15" AMD laptop as my small and light on the go daily driver.

The ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED Laptop is designed for those who are seeking performance, creativity, and an immersive experience. Whether you’re editing videos, designing graphics, or an office power user, the ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED has you covered. Unboxing & Setup: In the box is the laptop, a charging cord, the 200W charging block and warranty paperwork and user’s manual. The laptop was well packaged for protection in shipping and most of the box material is recycled, which is a plus. As other reviewers have mentioned, there were a few updates that wanted to run when the unit was powered on for the first time. There were some Microsoft updates and also a firmware update for the laptop which ran about 15-20 minutes. All and all it took approx. 30 minutes for the laptop to be ready for use. The last update was adding my Windows 360 account, and then it was time to dive in. First Impressions: This is a really well-built laptop, it feels sturdy yet isn’t overdone. It feels like a computer that is as comfortable on the road as it is on a desk…outside of the kind of large and heavy 200W power cord/brick. The keyboard is full sized and there’s also a numeric keypad to the right of the keyboard. The trackpad is a good size and is slightly offset to the left to align with the keyboard. Whether you’re editing photos, watching movies, or working on creative projects, the visuals are breathtaking, and the colors are rich and true on the 15.6” OLED display. The Harman / Kardon certified quad-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system compliments the OLED screen with immersive multi-directional surround sound output. Specs & Performance: The Intel Core Ultra 7 processor paired with the NVIDIA RTX3050 graphics delivers outstanding multitasking power and creative capabilities. There’s also advanced AI support built into the processor which provides some future-proofing of the laptop. Advanced thermal technology ensures maximum and sustainable performance which is a bonus for gamers, and the sound level is better than average when the cooling fans are running. ASUS DialPad, an intuitive physical controller on the touchpad, provides precise fingertip control over creative, productivity, and entertainment apps. I feel like it’s really geared to content creators looking to edit more productively. With 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD for storage, the Vivobook 15 Pro handles demanding applications and provides professional-level performance. Battery life is decent, although I found myself wanting to plug the laptop in more frequently than other laptops I’ve owned. It’s certainly sufficient for working on the go or while sitting on the couch. The power brick is a bit on the heavy side, but not excessive. Final Thoughts: The ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED is a versatile powerhouse that caters to creators, gamers, and professionals alike. With its sleek design, impressive specs, and stunning display, it’s a laptop that sparks creativity and elevates your computing experience. Pros: • Brilliant OLED display is the centerpiece of this laptop • Outstanding performance with support for AI • Immersive audio experience while watching movies or gaming • Impressive build-quality with a sleek overall design • Small ridge on the leading edge of the display makes it easy to open the lid • Precise fingertip control with ASUS DialPad – learning to use for editing video • Multiple outputs including USB-C, HDMI and USB-A Cons: • 60Hz refresh rate could create a bit of lag in some gaming environments In summary, if you’re looking for a laptop that combines power, style, and versatility, the ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED is an excellent choice that I would recommend to anyone.

This new Vivobook sports the new Intel Core ultra 7 CPU with Intel Nueral processing AI and Ark integrated graphics, Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB NVMe drive. It flies through desktop productivity and day to day tasks as well as more intensive tasks like photo and video editing. The 1TB drive has plenty of storage space for day to day use. Included ports are a full-size SD card reader, two USB 3.2 A style ports, two powered USB-C style ports (1 Thunderbolt 4), one full sized HDMI port, one combo audio port, and one RJ45 gigabit port. That’s everything I need without requiring me to carry any annoying dongles. The Vivobook accommodates several Windows 11 features. In addition to the standard PIN and password login options, it also supports Windows 11 Hello facial recognition and presence awareness. Presence awareness allows the laptop to sense when I’m away and blank the screen and wake when it senses me return. It’s a cool feature but I am a little apprehensive about the camera constantly searching my environment for my face. Thankfully, there is also a hardware privacy shutter for times I’d rather not have a camera active for hello or presence awareness.  Sound through the Dolby Atmos speakers is impressive and loud. Gaming sounds and music both sound clear with good balance, loudness and no distortion.      The beautiful HDR OLED screen has crisp graphics, true blacks, and deeply saturated colors. The screen doesn’t appear washed or dark, and instead has great brightness. I have brightness set at 75 which is more than sufficient. Only one small nitpick thing about the screen somewhat bothered me at first: I can see individual pixels. It’s not terrible and not nearly as bad as some of the truly awful looking OLED touchscreens out there, but it is noticeable. I’m relieved Asus didn’t opt for a touchscreen, which I never use anyhow. I blame the visible pixels on the FHD max resolution of this display. FHD is a good resolution spec on lower end machines, but it’s beginning to feel long in the tooth in higher-end machines like this. This OLED screen is so crisp and vibrant, it's unforgiving at lower resolutions. This is more personal opinion than anything because the screen is still gorgeous. I just feel that a higher max resolution would really make this screen stand out.  As far as screen quality, there are no stuck or faulty pixels and obviously no backlight bleed due to the OLED panel.   The backlit keyboard has large well-spaced keys that are comfortable, reassuring to type on and the extra size helps me make fewer typos when typing quickly.  The keyboard also has a dedicated F key row and numerical keypad. The large multi-gesture trackpad is reliably responsive and doesn’t stray or drift much when swiping. The trackpad also has a hardware feature called the ASUS DialPad. The DialPad is designed to improve efficiency and workflow with certain programs and processes such as media editors and office programs. When compatible programs aren’t installed the default setting is volume and brightness adjustment.   Performance is even greater than I expected. This machine powers through office and productivity apps with ease.  Photo and video editing are effortless. Even 4K video editing and encoding speeds are good. Fan noise is minimal most times and not overly loud at full speed. The cooling is more than capable of keeping up with gaming and resource intensive apps. Speaking of gaming, this is where the machine blew me away. I wasn’t expecting much based on past experience with the Nvidia RTX 3050. I fired up a AAA title racing game and this machine handled it astonishingly well. I had good frame rates over 100 FPS, and experienced no low memory or bandwidth errors like I frequently experienced with other 3050 powered machines.  I honestly expected this to only be good for cloud gaming and lightweight games but the performance blew my socks off. Just solid performance all around and the game’s vehicle engine sounds at full throttle basting through the speakers helped complete the immersion effect. I mostly use the machine on AC power but battery life has proven sufficient for productivity and even a decent gaming session.   As far as form factor and portability, the styling and dimensions are thin but a bit heavy. The laptop won’t take up a ton of storage space inside of bags or cases but it’s not exactly lightweight either, especially when also toting the sizeable power brick. One thing I’m not thrilled about is the old school barrel connector on the power adapter. I don’t know why Asus opted for that style over USB-C. It limits replacement options if the power brick ever goes bad or gets damaged. But again, this is another nitpick area.   Overall, this is a solid well-rounded performer.  It excels in many areas and I still can’t believe how good the gaming performance turned out to be. The only cons I could find are minor and are more personal preference than anything. I would not consider them dealbreakers rather than wish list items.

      Dear YuryK,

      Thank you for your comment.

We certainly understand your concern regarding the short battery charge life. This laptop's battery life is approximately 10 hours of light to medium workload. To improve or prolong the battery charged time, please try to do battery calibration manually. To start with, please drain it completely then charge it fully without using the system. Once fully charged, please use the system, without the AC adapter connected, and drain it completely again. Please repeat the charging process thereafter. Also, please verify if this laptop is running with the most Windows, drivers and BIOS update. Updates for this laptop are available at:  https://www.asus.com/us/laptops/for-home/everyday-use/asus-vivobook-pro-15-oled-q533/helpdesk_download?model2Name=Q533MJ . The ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED is an impressive Laptop that blends portability, power and stunning visuals. It comes with first rate amenities such as a 15.6-inch OLED display, 16GB of RAM, 1TB solid state drive, WiFi 6E, an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and a 6GB NVIDIA RTX 3050 GPU providing AI based performance. The sturdy aluminum top lid adds to the sleek look and feel of quality craftsmanship. There are 2 USB-A ports, 2 USB-C ports with the small lightning Thunderbolt symbol in between them (I haven’t been able to confirm if it supports Thunderbolt 4) and 1 HDMI port. The backlit keyboard is comfortable to type on with the softer and quieter plastic keys. For a laptop with a graphics card, it is neither very thin nor too thick. It is easy to transport and not as heavy as I thought it would be. Setting it up is easy just like a traditional Windows laptop. ‘MyAsus’ app is a well crafted ‘command and control’ center for this laptop where you can update and customize it to your preference. AI based features can be customized as well. As the name implies, the OLED screen is the star of the show. The screen resolution might be 1080p but playing high resolution videos and images is a feast for the eyes. The upscaling and high refresh rate provide a smooth viewing experience with crisp details. Entertainment and projects are brought to life with rich colors and deep blacks. The sharpness is remarkable. As a hobby, I do video editing and I use different software. I tried Adobe Premiere Pro and it handled it without any issues or hesitations. The performance left me impressed. I played a few simulation video games that are CPU heavy for a limited time and my experience was positive. The computer is mostly quiet and even when pushing the graphics card to its limits the cooling fans would get louder but the noise never got uncomfortable and the heat would dissipate quickly in my opinion. As an AI feature, you can set the laptop to prioritize performance resources based on usage demand and battery vs wall connection; quite sophisticated. Watching high resolution videos on that OLED display made it my new favorite entertainment screen in the house and on the go. As for the battery life, under normal use of about 2 hours a day I get well over 10 hours before I have to recharge. The battery life is cut by more than half under heavy use. I did a couple of video meetings and I got good feedback as far as the quality of the camera despite the 720p resolution. I would have wished for a higher resolution from such a feature rich laptop. I came out impressed with the ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED (Q533). Most creators would find its many features suitable to their needs, and gamers would enjoy it for its more than adequate performance handling graphics heavy games. If you’re looking for a laptop with a stunning display, first-rate performance, and AI features that will add to its longevity this laptop would be among my top choices.

I have had a some time to use the laptop for productivity work, streaming, web browsing and some game-play. It has yet to disappoint but it still have to put it thru more use to get a better idea of the graphics card performance. The laptop itself has all the basic inputs you need, it isn't too heavy but i wouldn't consider it a lightweight laptop like the LG Gram but this one has more features and offers better performance with the added weight. The OLED screen is is very thin yet it doesn't flex when opening the laptop, an under-looked bonus is the hinge isn't super tight so you can open the laptop with one hand...it's not major thing but it's a sign of quality because they didn't cheap out on the hinge. The colors are very rich and vibrant due to the OLED's color reproduction. The Ultra7 Processor has yet to let me down, I have been able to multi-task and run multiple windows while I am working on some editing software and it has dealt with the load well. The GPU has overall performed well but the games I have are A BIT OLD, I need to run cyberpunk on there and see how it performs but it has dealt with all my other games fine, GOW, INJUSTICE LEAGUE 2, COD...ETC. The mousepad is pretty large so it is convenient and the asus dial pad option is different but i haven't gotten familiar with it or comfortable enough with it to make it a go to tool but i can see how it would make for a useful shortcut to certain features-settings. The front camera privacy shutter is a cool touch, it does make you feel more secure knowing you can block the camera in case of any outside hacking. The 16gb ram and 1tb drive are adequate for my needs and overall it is a very nice laptop that is well thought out and well built. It is in that good upper medium range when it comes to specs and performance...VERY GOOD LAPTOP

My wife has an OLED Asus laptop and I never really paid attention to the quality of the screen until one day, an OLED screensaver came on and blew me away. Now, I have this Asus Viviobook Pro and can’t wait to see how it looks. TL; DR for my frequent readers & details below: Good: Screen NVidia Mobile Graphics Core 7 Ultra processor Battery Life WiFi 6E Backlit keyboard 2k Camera Camera cover MyAsus software Onboard port variety Sound Bad: Off-center keyboard / trackpad Number pad Meh: Lid Smudges / fingerprints / palm prints Asus Dial No fingerprint reader No USB-C charging - same Asus-style adapter I’ve had a few laptops recently and for a non-touch laptop it’s pretty alright. As with any laptop, you need to keep Windows (in this case) apart from the laptop itself. This is a laptop with an NVidia card that you CAN put on your lap and that’s great because I don’t always want to sit at a table. A laptop that has a number pad immediately puts the keyboard off-center and that’s a tough thing to get used to, especially if it’s new to you, like it is to me. Speaking of the number pad, Asus decided to put the decimal point under the 2, instead of the 0, like any other number pad. Dumb. A nice processor with the 7 Ultram but the 3050 Mobile seems to be a few years aged and a bit entry level for gaming (but totally doable), however it seems to be more targeted towards content creators and those that will do “studio” type work. I say that not only because the sticker says it, but the default driver for the laptop is the Studio driver, vs the “Game Ready” driver. Combining the CPU & GPU with WiFi 6E (6GHz) is a great addition. I’m glad to see that 6GHz is available, vs the other laptop I was using that had the 6GHz band disabled. With 6E and 6GHz, I can easily pull 1GB over WiFi. So with all of that, the screen is sharp, the colors are great and performance is undeniable. Add to that, a nice keyboard with a nice feel, including some backlighting options. Most built in cameras are low quality, well at least the ones that I’ve used. I’m happy to report that this camera has a setting for 1440p … 2k! This probably helps with the Windows Hello feature for identifying facial features, if you’re so inclined to use that. In other laptops, I’ve had a fingerprint reader, so no need for the camera feature - but here, no fingerprint reader and the dumb number pad, had me give it a whirl. I do love the camera cover - a simple slider that offers some “security” in today’s age. This laptop has a ton of ports on it which is GREAT! Traditional USB (USB-A), USB-C, HDMI, Gig Ethernet (I was hoping to see if they snuck a 2.5GB adapter in, but not this time) and an SD card reader. Sound. It has the harmon / kardon logo on it and I’ve never been impressed with laptop speakers. I can’t say it’s a sound system, but I did have it outside (propped up a bit) and had some music going. I was pleasantly surprised. A nice addition to an already feature-rich laptop. Now, there’s included Asus software as well. Great for updating the Asus stuff, registering & keeping track of your warranty. Then, there’s the Asus Dial, located on the touchpad. To me, this dial is useless. It takes so much configuration - and that’s per application. I guess if I was using specialized apps that could benefit from a dial - that it would be pretty cool and helpful, but for me that’s not the case. So, with about a week’s worth of use out of the laptop, nothing has failed and nothing has crashed. I did have to reinstall the “NVIDIA Experience” software because it was having trouble with the latest driver download / install. One thing you will note, is that the lid collects palm and fingerprints - so live with it or clean it, I don’t find it bothersome … just something to note. Given all that, the pluses and annoyance with the off-centered keyboard and dumb number pad, this is a 5-star laptop! Recommended!

This is an impressive Windows laptop, chock full of power and well-built. It has an Intel Core Ultra 7 (16 core) CPU, 16 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU (6 GB) and a 1 TB SSD -- more than enough to run demanding games and other programs. I'm not a heavy gamer myself, but I did test a few games that are on the more intensive side (like Saints Row 2), and performance was completely smooth on the highest settings. The laptop comes with Windows 11 Home, and (thankfully) fairly minimal bloatware. There are some ASUS applications that can help boost productivity, like GlideX, which allows for screen sharing/mirroring between devices. The 15.6" OLED display is very good, although limited to FHD 60 Hz -- not the top-of-the-line for the really hardcore gamer, who is probably looking for 4K screens with higher refresh rates. But it's otherwise bright (up to 600 nits), with vivid colors (also supports HDR) and excellent viewing angles (I noticed only slight dimming when looking at steep angles). The hinge is smooth, and the lid can be lifted with one one finger. Built-in Harman/Kardon speakers are impressively loud, and have reasonable dynamic range; a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack is also available. The keyboard is generally excellent. It's mostly a full-sized layout, except for the numberpad, which is a little compressed. Key travel and tactile feel are good. The trackpad is huge, and works well, but its location makes it a little easy to touch with the base of my thumbs while typing, thus causing unintended cursor movement. There's a nifty little "ASUS Dial" at the upper left of the trackpad that can be toggled on or off, and with the included software, can be customized for various system settings as well as creativity programs like Adobe Creative Cloud. Connectivity includes 2 USB-A 3.2 gen 1 ports, 1 USB-C 3.2 and 1 Thunderbolt 4 port (both with video and power delivery support), 1 HDMI 2.1 port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and RJ45 ethernet port. There's also a built-in SD 4.0 card reader (full-size -- if you want to read microSD, you'll need an adapter). Build quality seems great. It's US-MIL STD 810H rated, the lid is sturdy metal, and the base is fairly rugged-feeling polycarbonate plastic. The power brick is pretty hefty, but that's unavoidable, considering it supplies 200W. Overall, this is an excellent choice for those looking for a powerhouse that can handle productivity, gaming, and creativity.

A Great Balance between Productivity and Fun

I purchased the Vivobook 15 Pro (Q533MJ) a few months ago when it was on sale for $800. As a college student studying electrical engineering, this seemed like a solid buy, especially at that price point. There are some sacrifices you make. Here is my breakdown of the good and bad: Good: 1. Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor works great for a healthy mix of tasks ranging from light to medium loads. I have been able to navigate windows 11, web-browse, watch media, program and even play some older games all at very satisfactory speeds, even with the "power efficiency" mode on. 2. NVIDIA RTX 3050 6GB GPU. I put this under good because honestly to find a computer with these specs, of this build, at this price WITH a graphics card is going to be very difficult. While the 3050 isn't going to allow you to play the latest gaming titles at max settings, you can get some more casual gaming done, and it offers a good boost for some rendering or 3D modeling that laptops without dedicated GPUs just can't give. 3. UPGRADEABLE 16GB RAM, 1 TB SSD & WIFI 6 card!!!. In 2024, this is basically unheard of. So many companies have these soldered onto the motherboard, making them non upgradeable and less "future proof". It is a delight to know that this machine can theoretically stand against the test of time with a generous ram upgrade (I think up to 40GB but double check yourself), storage upgrade (I believe up to 4TB) and even upgrading the Wifi card to the lastest Wifi 7 cards available. 4. OLED. I honestly didn't know how big a difference there was between OLED and LED displays until I got this machine. The color accuracy is phenomenal. Colors are vibrant and I don't think I could go back to seeing a sad color-washed display. The brightness is pretty good too considering it is an OLED display, scoring around 400 nits which makes this sufficiently bright in most settings. 5. Battery life. If you're like me, you want a laptop that will last you a while without needing a charge. Most laptops with dedicated GPUs tend to be gaming laptops which are notorious for having lackluster battery lives even when doing basic computer tasks like web-browsing and writing up documents. I can report this machine has reliably served me a continuous use of 6-7 hours minimum doing the lighter tasks (no gaming, rendering or 3D modeling), which I think is decent for a laptop with these specs. Mind you, I have really only been using the "power efficiency" option in windows, with the keyboard backlight off and the screen at a moderate brightness level. It charges very fast too with the 200W charger in the box. It takes about 1-1.5 hours to get to a full charge when drained. 6. Thermal cooling/fans. The cooling/ventilation system on this thing seems solid. It's equipped with two fans so it doesn't get excessively hot. It will get warm under heavier loads and stress, but not "I could cook an egg on it" kinda warm. The fans will kick in under heavier loads as well but I found them to be very quiet. Not distracting at all. 7. Camera is decent (1080p) and there is even an IR cam equipped which enables face recognition for faster sign in. This machine also a physical privacy cover which I thought was nice as I no longer need to put a post-it note on my laptop's camera anymore. 8. Port selection is good. HDMI 2.1, two USB-A, two USB-C (3.2 and thunderbolt 4), full-sized SD card slot, headphone jack, ethernet port and of course the charging port. Bad: 1. 1080p Resolution. Surprised this doesn't support a higher resolution as 1080p is certainly lackluster in 2024. At times, text can look a little pixelated depending on the size. The screen ratio of 16:9 also can feel a little awkward as most screens are now 16:10. 2. Trackpad. Not haptic and I personally don't like the dial. It feels unnecessary. 3. Port placement. Most of the ports are on the right side which I don't like. I foresee struggles using this machine and a wireless mouse in my future. 4. Speakers are nothing special. Not the worst but could have been better. 5. Looks and feels cheap to me. Certainly not an aesthetic machine in my opinion. My girlfriend pokes fun at me when I break this out, especially when she's working on her Macbook air. 6. Not touchscreen. 7. Size. I personally find this to be a big machine, as I plan to use it for productivity purposes and will make it part of my everyday carry. At 4 pounds, it feels bulky and has some heft. The 200W charger is also huge, adding further weight but given its capacity for some gaming, this is pretty good considering true gaming laptops can be 6 pounds or more. Overall, I really like this laptop. I have high hopes that this will last me several years before requiring an upgrade, especially considering its capacity for RAM, WIFI and SSD upgrades. While this is certainly not a "premium" laptop, I believe the pros far outweigh the cons, and at $800 this was absolutely a steal for a college student looking to get a machine that can serve as a workhorse and provide a bit of fun without breaking the bank.

I'm a total IT geek that loves trying out new products and solutions. I've also long been wanting an OLED product - so enter in this ASUS-Vivobook Pro 15.6" OLED laptop! This thing is loaded and ready to be a workhouse for your business or the centerpiece of your mobile gaming setup. I'm sitting here right now jamming out to some awesome tunes playing through the 4 speaker Harmon Kardon Dolby Atmos sounds system. Of course - you'll never get the deep booming sounds without a dedicated external subwoofer - but it does indeed sound crisp and clear. OK - next on the list is the performance of this unit - it's fantastic! Start with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor. This new processor includes two specialized, integrated features that allow them to power immersive graphics and AI workloads when compared to Intel® Core™ processors and Intel® processors. The first is the Intel® Arc™ GPU, a powerful, built-in graphics solution available in select Intel® Core™ Ultra processors.2 This feature provides the high performance needed for accelerated creation and immersive gaming, even while on the go. The second is Intel® AI Boost, a dedicated engine for AI-related tasks—also known as a Neural Processing Unit, or NPU. As AI becomes increasingly important to our daily lives, this technology helps you enjoy more AI-accelerated experiences such as noise suppression while in a meeting without worrying about performance lags and battery drain. See my performance test charts for comparison - and go ahead - run the performance test on your PC and compare for yourself! Really - all performance indicator scored well - CPU, MEMORY, DISK and GRAPHICS. Another interest feature is the ASUS Dial Control. In fact - I had to read about it: https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1046611/. Interesting feature with lots of customization that lets you tune specific settings for up to 10 programs. Activated by a swipe on the trackpad - you can customize it for a variety of tasks. I'm still getting used to it - but certainly an interesting addition. Lastly, since this is getting a bit long - just a few words about the display. I LOVE the OLED display and coupled with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 GPU - this quality is nearly unbeatable. The ASUS Lumina OLED offers deeper blacks, incredible colors and even blue light protection for your eyes! Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass - I'm really liking the machine this far and believe this may become my go-to laptop!

Good all-around laptop w/ awesome OLED and audio

Quick Summary: Good all-around laptop if you're getting into gaming or light video editing. This is Asus entry of the Ultra Series Intel processors, formerly known as Meteor Lake. The 15 inch OLED display is beautiful, at times looks better than my external monitor. The Harman Kardon audio is great, some of the best and crisp sounding, I've heard on a laptop. Lastly the GPU Asus puts in, does a decent job with gaming (although this is not a "gaming" laptop. In the Box: Asus Vivobook Pro OLED laptop 200w power supply Manuals Cardboard laptop stand The Vivobook Pro is a good all-around laptop for anyone looking for that bit of extra processing power for game play or light video editing. I'll go over the main components of this laptop, broken down in the following: Display, Audio, GPU, and CPU. Display: The 15 inch OLED display is vibrant and looks beautiful. I've been wanting to get an OLED TV and using this, convinces me more to go that route. The OLED display does a great job at making everything look better. It definitely works well for watching movies or videos. The blacks are truly black and looks better than my external micro LED display. This seems to be where the other brands are going with their high-end laptop displays. Audio: The Vivobook Pro incorporates Harman Kardon speaker and they perform just as amazing. These truly are the best speakers I've heard on a laptop. The sound is crisp and clear, easily distinguishable between other laptops. GPU: This Vivobook Pro uses a NVIDIA RTX 3050 with 6GB graphics. The GPU is decent and works well for gaming and light video editing. I've got a mixed bag when it comes to the RTX 3050 performance, sometime, I can achieve 60fps using only the OLED display gaming on Witcher 3. Then using an external 120hz monitor you can only get 30fps through the USB-C connection. If you're looking to use this truly as a mobile workstation/entertainment, this will definitely do, but for anyone that wants to connect to an external monitor, don't expect to exceed 30hz. I say light video editing because this video card is not the most robust, but definitely gets the job done! CPU: One of the biggest attraction for me was seeing what the i7 Ultra 155H could do. when working on formula heavy spreadsheets, you'd get the performance, you'd expect from Intel and from other benchmarks I've seen, it out performs the previous gen i7s. Definitely a step up.

Asus has been a subtly great laptop maker for the last decade and I think they are getting more and more recognition and people want the best when it comes to performance, versatility, content consumption, gaming, and work. Their new Vivobook Pro 15 is an excellent example of bringing all that into one! PROS: - Unboxing this, Asus did a fantastic job being green and eco-friendly with its minimalist setup. It comes with the laptop and charger and thats all you need! I really liked the design of this laptop too. It has a nice look to it, bit of weight but to be expected with these specs, but overall not too bulky and easy to bring around with you. - The screen is what I really love about this laptop! Big 15” size, OLED screen, the colors pop, small bezels around it, and it is Dolby Vision / Atmos enabled for the best viewing experience possibly while consuming content. Really the screen is great for work or play! - The specs alongside of that are crazy good. Dedicated NVIDIA graphics card for the best graphics and gaming experience, fast Intel Core processor, and plenty of ram and storage for my needs. - Another lost art that Asus brings is the available ports! USB, USB C, HDMI, Ethernet, and Power plug ins. Just plenty for what I need to hook up monitors if needed or other accessories. - I also think the typing and trackpad experience are great! Really responsive keyboard with a big trackpad with some nice usability features to make for a great experience interacting with the computer. CONS: - I understand with a laptop this size with these specs, it needs power. But the power cord is rather bulky and it would have been nice to have something smaller with USB-C instead. BOTTOM LINE: - Asus continues to showcase how they can offer it all in a laptop! It has an amazing screen for work or play, awesome specs for handling large applications or no-lag gaming, and has a lot of versatility to handle all your needs on the go. I think Asus did a wonderful job and I am excited for this to be my daily driver!
