Defective Laptop

I bought a separate charger that should work and the port seemed to not work at all. Customer service allowed me to return the device but when I asked to repurchase one that is functional rather than go through a warranty claim to get a refurbished laptop, the price was much higher and would not honor the original price.

NOT GOOD COMPUTER.

The customer service rep at Geek Squad stated that he loved this computer. I have had nothing but trouble with this computer! This computer is supposed to have its own protection software! It does not!. Almost daily this computer gets taken over by a virus that I have to shut off the computer and I worry about my computer not being at all safe and I wonder what it has already stolen from me. One other big item is that this computer DOES NOT HAVE A TOUCH SCREEN. I did not check this and the salesman did not tell me this either. I was under the impression that all computers now used touch screens! It is like going back 25 years.

Here's an in-depth look at what this laptop offers: Display The 15-inch OLED screen is one of the highlights of this laptop. The display is exceptionally good, with extremely accurate colors, deep blacks, and high contrast, making it perfect for media consumption, photo editing, and video editing. However, it’s worth noting that the screen is only 60Hz, which might be a slight drawback for those looking for a higher refresh rate for smoother visuals in gaming. Performance Under the hood, the Vivobook Pro 15 packs an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor paired with 24GB of RAM running at 5600mhz. This combination ensures impressive performance for productivity tasks and light gaming. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 adds to the capability, providing decent graphics performance for creative work and gaming. The RAM is SODIMM and upgradeable to more if needed, which is also a nice touch. Specifically, the RTX3050 included is the 95W TDP version. What does that mean for most people? Almost Perfect

This new Vivobook has those characteristics. However, from my point of view, there is one especially important feature missing. The good stuff about the Pro 15 : *Processing speed, provided by an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, is excellent. *System RAM memory is a high 24Gb. That, being enough for gaming, means it is great for multitasking for non-gamers. Total storage capacity is an amazing 2,000 Gb. *NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Graphics are also great for gaming. *Battery Life is projected to 10 hours. I cannot attest to that; but, from what I see so far, it could be fact, not brag. *The OLED and Full HD screen provide a great viewing experience. *OS is Windows 11 Home 64-bit. *Connectivity is facilitated by five ports: I Thunderbolt and 4 USB (2 USB A and 2 USB C). *Super Wi-Fi 6E. *Great audio is provided by Dolby Atmos technology paired with Harman Kardon speakers. Love it. *The back-lit keyboard includes a right-side numeric pad. Some folks don’t like that, but to me it is a plus. * And more…. There is a lot to like about this excellent laptop. However, in my opinion, there is one especially important feature missing: the touchscreen! For such a top-shelf device at a top-shelf price, how can there be no touchscreen? For me and perhaps others who have hand difficulties, the touchscreen was a significant improvement for computers. No touchscreen is a giant step backward. All in all, the Vivobook Pro 5 is an excellent laptop. Lots of operating horsepower, quite possibly more storage than any non-gamer will ever use (yet, there if you need it), excellent video and audio, and lots of battery power. Once again, Asus has upped their game in quality laptops. With the caveat of the missing touchscreen, I would certainly recommend it.

An absolutely amazing job by ASUS

The Vivobook Pro is one of the best laptops that I have had the privilege of using and reviewing over the last several years. This laptop, with it's 15" OLED display, 2 TB SSD, and 24 GB of RAM has incredible specs and it's range of capability is astonishing. From running memory intensive programs such as Adobe's Premiere Pro to watching UHD movies on streaming services, the Vivobook Pro did not disappoint. This was the laptop that finally got my wife to put aside her old non-Windows laptop and move into the Windows OS. Here's my experience with using and reviewing the Vivobook Pro OLED laptop (before my wife took it and wouldn't give it back): Display: Wow, absolutely gorgeous. The 15" OLED screen is soooo beautiful. Very rich contrasts, has blue light filters to protect the eyes, and different warmth adjustments that make it easy to watch at all times. UHD material streamed via the different streaming services looks amazing. The screen gets quite bright. My rating on the display is 10/10. Processor: An Intel Ultra 9? Nice! A Meteor Lake chip from the end of 2023, this is Intel's best chip, replacing the old 13th generation of Intel chips. And it shows in use. The Vivobook Pro cruises through difficult tasks and makes them look easy. Video editing using Adobe's Premiere Pro was quick and effortless, topping my old laptop easily (an i7 Crystal Lake processor). I run statistical software often utilizing R, and sometimes the datasets I have are incredibly large. The Vivobook Pro ran queries without breaking a sweat. This 1st generation Intel Ultra 9 gets my thumbs up! My rating for processor is 10/10. Memory/Storage: Nicely put together by ASUS. 2 TB of SSD storage is excellent. 24 GB of RAM (16 GB of DDR5 with an additional 8 GB integrated into the board) is also excellent. Between memory, storage, and the processor, ASUS has put together a powerhouse that makes difficult tasks seem easy. My rating for the memory/storage is 10/10. Video Card: Nothing to write home about. Looks like integrated Intel video graphics, 6 GB of memory integrated. Look, we're not buying the Vivobook Pro for gaming, so I wouldn't expect an Nvidia GE Force RTX 3080. What the Vivobook has is good enough for it's intended use, which is towards the business and home user. My rating for Video Card is a 5/10. Keyboard/ergonomics: It's amazing how much ASUS packed into the small footprint of this 15" Laptop. It remains cool to the touch, even through some hard use, the keyboard is pleasant to use and I can type at pretty decent speeds on it. The trackpad is super easy to use. Sits in the lap well, doesn't get too warm. My rating for keyboard/ergonomics is 9/10. This is an easy five-star rating for me. The Vivobook Pro has an amazing OLED screen, has an extremely fast and capable processor, plenty of storage and RAM, and is effortless to use. Well done by ASUS!

Do not purchase.

Three months later it stops charging. I have the Total Tech membership at Best Buy which comes with Geek Squad Service Protection. Best Buy refuses to honor the agreement and will not fix or replace like they say they will when you make the purchase.

Great productivity laptop, good for some gaming
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Aus Vivobook Pro 15 is the first laptop that I have owned or used that has the new Intel Core Ultra 9 processor. This new processor is supposed to be Intel's entry into AI chips and as such, has some built in ability to process AI commands. I am not sure how this is supposed to work, I really haven't figured out exactly what the new AI ability is able to do, but overall, this still is a nice processor for anything creative. I have other Asus laptops that are gaming specific, but I still wanted a laptop that was more work centric with a long lasting battery and an unassuming look. This Asus Vivobook, so far, has fit the bill very well. The only drawback is that it is equipped with last years RTX 3050 GPU which, even then, was a mid-range GPU. The good part is that unless you are competitive with the latest and greatest ray tracing games, this GPU does a very good job. The combination of the RTX3050 GPU and the new Core Ultra I 9 processor does make for a dream machine for those who are into the creative side of things. This laptop also comes very well equipped with a ton of ports. There are USB A, two USB c, an HDMI along with an SD card reader. The computer runs cool unless you are really pounding it with GPU usage. The keyboard is excellent and includes a number pad on the right side that I really like having. There is a little circle on the mousepad that allows you to steer your mouse and may do other things that I am not aware of, but is pretty neat. Battery, that is where the rubber meets the road in a productivity notebook and that is something that I have been very happy with. Overall, this is a great notebook for productivity and digital creators and a pretty descent notebook to fill in as a light to medium use gaming laptop for all those downtimes between meetings. It is my new everyday laptop, if for no other reason, than how long the battery will last. Oh, and don't forget the OLED screen. Beautiful.

Bought open box expecting a 1 year warranty as shown on the best buy website, but Asus only honors 90 day warranty for open box items.

Hard Reset
1. Remove all external devices such as the AC adapter, USB devices, etc.
2. Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds.
3. Reconnect the AC adapter.
4. Turn on the power of the device.

damaged product

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The screen was popping out and I did not realize this until I flipped over the laptop and you could see that one part of the screen was popping out of the frame. This was also 1 day right after my return window so Best buy said they could not do anything about it.
