Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the excellent screen quality and strong performance of the Vivobook Pro 15, frequently praising its ample RAM and storage. While many appreciate its ease of use and lightweight design, some users mention that the fan can be noisy and the device may become warm during intensive use. A few also point out the lower refresh rate of the screen and the somewhat cramped number pad.

A mixed bag of Capabilities & Accomplishments
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Asus Vivobook is loaded with features and specs. It offers a Numeric Keypad in a 15inch machine, Intel Core Ultra 9 with 16 cores, 24 GB of ram, 2 TB SSD, an OLED Screen, and an Nvidia RTX3050 video Card. What’s not to like. Pros: • The screen looks amazing. Everything is crisp and the color and contrast look great. While this is not a 4K screen, it still looks great. • It has a Core Ultra 9 with the NPU AI accelerator. A lot of new photo and video software is AI enabled so this CPU will make those types of applications run well. • The laptop runs warm but the fans do a good job of cooling it. There is one fan that runs most of the time and the second turns on when it's doing something graphics heavy. When you are using it for basic work the fan noise isn't really noticeable. Build construction is good. It has a plastic body and an aluminum top cover. It does not feel flimsy. • Facial recognition is supported which I like. Cons: • The keyboard feels cramped. They tried to add a Numeric Keypad to the keyboard but it’s too narrow, so all your muscle memory of a real Keypad doesn't translate over. The Keypad makes the rest of the keyboard narrower and thus feels cramped to type on. • The entire bottom is vented for airflow so it needs to be raised up to get airflow. The attached “feet” stick out and catch when you are trying to put it in a bag or laptop sleeve besides making it much thicker. This arrangement does make the laptop very stable on a flat surface, however those feet can catch on things, • The "Dial Pad" is a gimmick. You have to program in any commands you want to use. It is app aware which is nice. It knows which app you clicked the Dial Pad on and shows commands for that app. The issue is that you have to click to activate the dial pad, then click on the command you want to control, then rotate around the dial pad to run a command or change a setting. It's a lot more clicks than just using the applications keyboard shortcuts but some people may find it useful. • This is not a Touchscreen Laptop. The Keyboard is backlit, but I miss the touchscreen option. • Comes with a 200 watt Power Brick. Not sure why they need that much, but to run the machine in its highest power mode, you will need it. Otherwise an optional USB-c charger can be used for moderate power demands. • I noticed color banding on this screen. When using the HDMI to an external monitor it’s still there. If you use a USB-c to Display Port Cable, the banding is almost unnoticeable. If it was just being marketed as a high end laptop, I would let the color banding slide. But ASUS is marketing these as "creator" laptops for photo and video work so I am somewhat disappointed. Conclusion: This is a feature laden laptop with a lot of capabilities. It works well, and it’s very powerful. It’s almost like a desktop in a laptop body which makes it “thicker” than you realize for inserting in a sleeve or case because of the raised “feet” on the bottom. For max performance you will need to carry the included 200watt power brick. I miss a Touchscreen but I like the added Numeric Keypad if you can deal with the resulting cramped keyboard. I also like the Facial recognition for signing in. I hope that Asus address the color banding I observed on the screen. I would recommend this laptop to someone who wants the power and features knowing some of its limitations. I will rate this as a 4 out of 5 stars.

Great everyday laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a four year old Asus Zephyrus G laptop that had an AMD Ryzen 7 processor that was upgraded to 24 gigs of ram (max). I can attest to how much better this Asus Vivobook is than that 4 year old laptop. PERFORMANCE OBSERVATIONS I do quite a bit of work with video and burning items to Bluray discs. The 4 year old ASUS was intermittently not cooperating with burning blurays so I figured that it was the burner and moved those activities to a newer and faster machine. Well, I tried the burner that I used on this older computer with the new one and it is blazing fast. SSD SPEEDS. I used the latest Crystal Disk Mark application and the old laptop did READS in around 1400 mbps; the new one slammed that by doing 5203 mbps! On writes, there was an even bigger difference with the old one barely getting 500 mbps; the new one 4745 mbps! While that is a data driven comparison, I can attest that using the same external drives that I had moved from the old ASUS that there is faster result in transferring files - roughly 50% faster in the transfer speeds. I ran tests and burned a bluray all while downloading video feeds and this computer did not flinch. The supposedly problematic bluray burner was just flying through disc burning at a rate that the old ASUS never did - and while the burn speeds are not amazing like transferring files to an ssd, I can attest that using older hardware was IMPROVED by this machine. KEYBOARD Superb backlit keys that were brighter than the old machine even when new and there was even light that showed under the key which helps to locate for touch typing. I even noticed key points where touch typing to locate fingers more easily. TRACKPAD I normally hate modern trackpads which seem more concerned about doing a plethora of functions instead of allowing you to navigate through screens. This had nice touch and was not suspect to accidental touches like many. I don't know if this trackpad can do things a Fruit computer can do; and that is a good thing. STORAGE 2 TB of built in storage along with 24 gigs of ram. I finally did not feel hamstrung by a basic computer. I didn't even get the sensation that more ram was needed. I can assure you that the 24 gigs in the older ASUS didn't feel this fast. OTHER ASPECTS Wired networking connection - so nice to have and I was pulling nearly 900 mbps up and down with my fiber optic internet - just 40 mbps short of the advertised speeds both ways. The wifi speeds were not as impressive when I first tested but the speeds were far faster both wired and wireless than the older ASUS was when new - I remember thinking this one was never going to be good but it improved with a driver update; but never was this fast. OVERALL IMPRESSIONS This is a great computer to use as a daily driver - yes, it has a plastic case but I like the black look with silver accents and it is nicer than the old ASUS which had an odd texture on the palm rest that never looked clean after cleaning it. This new one is smooth on the surface. Computer is not the thinnest but that isn't why you'd buy this. Cost is quite reasonable these days - $300 more than the purchase cost of the old ASUS when new. For that extra cost, this performance gain alone makes this a great value and within other comparable units. There is no touchscreen and the panel seems vibrant and I didn't even max out the brightness.

Strong Specs Plus OLED Display at Affordable Price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a terrific gaming laptop or for your go to laptop for any applicaitons. The first thing you notice is the very well thought-out physical design. One very important feature is the design of the rubber feet on the bottom. This design makes this laptop extremely stable on the desk or table and is often overlooked in other gaming laptop brands. Next I appreciated the slim design of the perimeter around the screen. I also found the touchpad the best I have ever tried, although I do use my favorite mouse for fast paced gaming scenarios. The position of the power cord is also ideal on the upper right side. The slide to block the camera is also a feature that I use often, no more need to have a piece of tape handy. I did note that per instructions I needed to charge the unit for about 3 hours for the first time. When I powered-on out of the box, the screen was blank but the fan was running. So you do need to follow the instructions on this first time setup to fully charge the battery. The specifications are top notch especially at the price-point that ASUS offers for this machine. Plenty of RAM, the 6GB cache for the nice RTX3050 video card and the powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 with 14 cores – yeah! The audio is superb via the Harmon Kardon Dolby Atmos technology – nice of the engineers to put this in and a tip of my cap for that design point. I loved just playing Youtube music videos which I often rely on for some relaxation. The touchpad is unique in that the two small concentric circles in the upper left are designed to facilitate using certain multimedia type apps; for example, selecting brush style choices, color choices and similar parameters. These touchpad circles also are useful for other controls of the cursor at any time. I thought this design was very useful as well as innovative. Tip of my cap to the ASUS engineers. Note that some very high end laptops include this capability via a physical knob, I found the ASUS design to be superior. Okay, last but not least. The wonderful, bright and colorful OLED display is fantastic. The colors are vibrant but what I noticed (with my glasses on) was the sharpness of the display. Now I am spoiled as I need to ensure I have OLED displays on all my laptops, monitors and TV’s. The OLED technology does come with a price, but based on my observations including several comparisons of color-test generator runs, the OLED is definitely worth it especially for gaming and really for any applications. Thanks to the ASUS engineers again. I would highly recommend this device for your primary laptop.

Fantastic Computer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Asus Vivobook Pro 15 is a fantastic computer with some really high end components, but really light weight and portable for it's class. The Vivobook Pro features an Intel Core Ultra 9 running at 2.3 GHz, 2TB SSD storage, 24GB ram, an NVidia 3050 graphics card, and a 15 inch FHD Oled display. This is all packaged in a relatively lightweight and thin enclosure that is just over 4 pounds and just under 1 inch thick. In addition, IO ports include 2 USB-C, 2 USB-A, 1 Ethernet, 1 HDMI, 1 audio port, and 1 SD Card Slot. The computer comes with Windows 11, and paired with the aforementioned specs, it is a really snappy little system. The processor and SSD really work well in running and opening everything really fast. And the 24GB of RAM really let you multitask with little to no slow down. I even fired up a few games on this thing, and while not a gaming computer by any means, it can get the job done in a pinch. I was able to run Cyberpunk at low settings and it was easily playable. It should really be able to handle most modern games at low to medium settings. So this is a really great system for productivity, but can also play the occasional game when desired. The form factor is also really nice. As mentioned before, it is relatively lightweight and thin for this class of computer, coming in at just above 4 pounds and under 1 inch thick. For a 15 inch laptop with these specs, that is really impressive. Finally, I want to mention the screen. It is a 1080p FHD Oled screen, and I can't say enough how beautiful this screen is. If you've seen an Oled screen before, you already have an idea of what to expect, but if you haven't, I don't think I can explain in words just how good they look. Even though it is only 1080p, this is still once of the nicest screens I have ever seen on a laptop. I should mention that the screen has 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and has PANTONE Validated color fidelity. I only half understand what that means, but take it for what it's worth if you fully understand it. For me, what it boils down to is screen=pretty. In conclusion, this is one of the nicest laptops I have used in a long time. It has very good specs for running everyday and business apps, and can even handle some light gaming. The screen is one of the best screens I have ever used on a laptop. Everything feels really well made and high quality. You can't go wrong with this laptop if you are in the market for a good laptop.

Excellent !
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asus Vivobook Pro 15 laptop. Laptop is a 15” very nicely designed with most ports being on the right side. It is not a light unit, but not the heaviest i've experienced. Unit feels very substantial with everything flowing. It is not touch screen, but the screen is bright, and sharp. There is a slight border around the screen, but minimal. The screen is definitely one of the definiting attributes of this laptop. It has a Intel Ultra 9 processor which is fast, responsive and a pleasure to use. The keyboard is backlit and is bright and very clear. I have seen some backlit keyboards which are dull and hard to see. This is not the case. Probably one of the best backlit keyboard designed I have used. It does have a numeric pad, and feels good to use, with just the right travel. The sound is great with branding by Harman Kordan. The Wifi is 6 so that is an added perk. I really like this laptop, even with the lack of touchscreen. The responsive touch pad goes a long way to make up. The processor is responsive, fast and feels and looks excellent thanks to the fast Ultra 9 processor. Using it for Youtube and to download some drone and camera footage was a breeze. No lag and amazing picture quality. This could and probably replace my desktop !

Fantastic computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not be happier!!! What a fantastic computer. I wish it had more RAM. But I think it can be upgraded. The picture looks as good as any high-end OLED TV on display. It is crazy, crazy fast. Three times faster than the computer it replaced. And it is rock solid stable. Runs with no error and no quirks of any kind. This one seemed like it had the most beautiful display of the ones they had out in the store. I was going to buy something more powerful with more RAM but I couldn't get over the awesome picture on this one. So far, by far they best laptop I've ever owned.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is incredible. The screen, the memory. The ASUS brand. But, the one thing i really wished it had, and should have if its a pro model, is 120Hz. 120Hz on this OLED display, would probably make this my favorite Laptop ever.

A complete dissapointment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Asus laptop. I was really excited considering its specs but I soon felt dissapointed. One of the laptop’s fans keeps turning on to full capacity everytime I turn on the laptop. It has been doing that since the first time I turned it on. It seems to be a physical issue because the fan stops only if I turn the laptop upside down and start shaking it, if not, it runs at full capacity indefinitely. I tried updating drivers and couldn’t solve it and I also tried running the troubleshooting of the Asus included app and it told me that the fan has an issue. Its also important to mention that the computer runs slow and it shouldn’t considering the specs of it. I had to swich back to my old yoga with 8gbs of RAM which is faster than this one, so now I have this laptop taking space at my home.

Lasted 6 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asus has issues with the NEW multi-directional microphones in these laptops. After 6 months the mic stopped working , ASUS has terrible tech support so beware. They never let you go past a level 1 tech and these guys at level 1 don't have a clue. Their fix is "reinstall windows" every time, what a joke. Thankfully I have a Bestbuy total warranty as they're fixing it if its repairable, if not then a new replacement. Now i need to wait 2 weeks to get it back from repair. I don't understand how a company can hire people that have to read off scripts and flip pages to help you , into a tech support position. Its a 50/50 chance that you'll get qualified help if you need it.

Furthermore, check insisde the Sound Properties if the built-in microphone was selected as an input device. If you are running a video-conferencing software or applications, check if the built-in microphone was also selected correctly.

Posted .Dear JustinY,
Thank you for your comment.
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if the GPU stop working after seven months of usage.
ASUS is an ISO certified company, as a result, all products go into a strict quality manufacturing standard. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections that ensure each one is trouble-free, and are built to last. the GPU breaking prematurely is a random problem. ASUS provides warranty coverage for the product. We recommend you send the product in for service to determine if this is a hardware issue so this may be resolved immediately. An RMA number is required to send it in for service. For RMA details, please go to: https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/818/. This laptop was not designed for gaming, although it can play popular games smoothly. The RTX3050 GPU with an Intel i9 processor is a good setup for gaming. Although the RTX3050 GPU might be a bottleneck, specifically at higher resolutions or games that are GPU-intensive. If you need further assistance with this product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help.
