Customers frequently mention the excellent screen quality and impressive performance of the Vivobook Pro 16", highlighting its powerful processor and graphics card. Many appreciate the ample RAM, contributing to fast load times and smooth multitasking. However, a common concern is the relatively short battery life, which some users find underwhelming.

Fastest i9 intel chip for laptop (check) nvidia rtx 4070 (check) breathtaking glossy 3.2k 120hz non-touch OLED screen (check). This laptop is super capable and very affordable. The chassis is made of some type of polymer with not much metal but it is very well built and light. This is a gaming powerhouse for the price!

I picked this device because I'm much more a creative than I would consider myself a gamer. I'm in school currently both for CAD as well as 3D Animation, as well as taking courses in programming and networking. My hobbies are 2D and 3D art, when I'm not doing school. Other laptops I was interested in were in the ASUS ProArt series. I really liked that the Vivobook was geared more for general-purpose creators that didn't need the widgets and fun of the ProArt, but inclusive enough for non-professional artists that there's a neat-o little dial that I might be able to use when I can finally make some 2D illustrations again.
One of the things about such specific set of software (specifically the CAD) is that most of them require the latest Windows systems to operate and I probably have about 4-5 total such software packages on my system at any given time. I also, yes, wanted to occasionally play a little video game from time to time. I also didn't have a laptop but needed something more portable than my desktop, which was and is still running Win10, to bring to campus when the need arises.
In my case, however, doing product renders and animations is where I need most of the horsepower, but still wanted a nice display for watching movies/films on as well as the daily general tasks. I use this device for at least 8-10 hours per day, since purchase. I feel it's up to the task and overall would recommend it if you fall into a similar demographic of "non-professional artist who is a jack of many trades".
I picked this model over the more monitor-pretty 16x because it DIDN'T have some form of face recognition. Con is it came at the cost of having a glossy screen. It'd be much nicer if the screen wasn't glossy but this is arguably down to preference. I cannot dock points because I know many love a glossy screen.
I upgraded the RAM with dual 64GB modules before I even signed into my Microsoft account. It was easy and there's also ample photos showing how online. My purchase of this specific model was driven because the RAM was somewhat cheap and easier to come by than more powerful models that had 32+GB RAM. At the time of purchase, a lot of the other laptops I was interested in were out-of-stock due to it being immediately before the start of school. I also wanted to buy a device through a trusted vendor.
My one gripe:
A few times now I've gotten some scary Windows blue-reboot-screen telling me that putting my computer to sleep then waking up was bad and I'm bad. Spooky! I personally feel this is a result of either the new RAM or because Windows11 is quirky. I tried reinstalling Win11 but had issues getting a LiveUSB to boot - a poo on Microsoft since it's pretty easy for Linux. After my software-specific classes are done, I will be installing some flavor of Linux since that's what my usual art apps are native to. If, after that process, things are still a bit wonky then my assumption will be with the machine or the RAM - I'll reinstall the old modules then. It is rare (>1x per month) event so I will give ASUS the benefit of the doubt that it's not hardware-specific but software-specific. Or user-error-specific.
Other things you might care about: Keyboard is nice, I also like that it has a numpad - useful for navigating in 3D! A con is the speakers are pretty bad but I think I'm just used to using an external speaker anyways - my ears are probably spoiled. Usable enough that I think it's just the reality of a laptop - been somewhat long since I had a laptop!

Fast machine, great graphics and long battery life. The sound volume is too low though but additional speakers would fix that.

This laptop... I wanted so much to love it. It has all the specs you could need: a 4070, a 13980hx (which is completely locked from undervolting despite the hx in the name), and a stupidly pretty OLED screen. It has every port under the sun, a fun keyboard design, fingerprint scanner and privacy slider on the camera. So many things to like!
That said, I couldn't get over the feeling of it being cheaply made. For a laptop that sells for $2000 normally, it is nowhere near worth that. The lid doesn't close completely by design, so there is space between it and the keyboard... Why???
The chassis is entirely plastic with no glass over that pretty screen it boasts. It feels like you could bend the screen with little effort, or if you pick it up to transport it you might warp it accidentally.
This was cheaper than the ProArt series with the same specs but metal build, and frankly, I don't think this is worth saving the money. 3.5/5 but you can't justify this price for the serious downgrade in quality.
If you aren't moving it much, it might be a fine computer, but at that point, $2000 will get you a much nicer desktop.

Great Laptop. Inly thing I don't like is when you're switching the mux switch for the dedicated graphics to hybrid it makes you resign in with your miceosoft account and resetup a Pin and biometrics for login on tbe power button. Other than that its really good.

I would suggest not purchasing this laptop I have a few reasons behind why it's a waste of money. While most things operate normally when I power the computer on sometimes everything will just freeze and not let me do anything. The taskbar doesn't show up or anything another thing is sometimes it doesn't detect the USB for my headphones and says it's a corrupted file. I then repaired the corrupted file and somehow the USB still wasn't being recognized all the time yet the USB works perfectly fine on any other device. Pretty much around the time I purchased the device it also started having fan noises. Then my most recent use of the computer the fan started having a panic attack and making a loud spinning noise ultimately stopping the fan from spinning. I restarted the computer and its fan started running again still making a slight noise like it typically does. I have only owned this computer for a short period and thought I bought it on a good deal but didn't do much research into the device. I cannot recommend this computer to anyone as I have issues with it almost every day which should not happen for the price of the laptop. The only reason this laptop doesn't get a 1 star is because of the OLED screen and when it's up and fully running the laptop works pretty well.

PROS:
+High resolution OLED display at 120 Hz is the best of any laptop in 2023.
+The processor is incredibly fast and maintains great performance even when unplugged
+High end Samsung M.2 NVMe SSD (may vary by batch)
+Relatively lightweight
+Privacy shutter on the camera
+Large touchpad
CONS:
-Materials feel less solid than other high end laptops (too much plastic)
-Battery life ranges from decent to poor depending on tasks
-No vapor chamber cooling, so it often gets warm
-MediaTek WiFi card isn't as strong as Intel cards
-Down firing speakers aren't as good as competing up firing ones
-Gray and orange accent buttons look rather cheap
-Many weird graphics errors and blue screens out of the box
I wanted to love this laptop, but between the cheap feeling chassis, warm operation, and random errors, it doesn't feel worth the high asking price. I could only recommend it if it was available with a huge discount.

Reasonable performance from what you would expect from the specs, however, a less than ideal build quality (lid is just OK, fingerprint magnet, screen is plastic and not glass/scratchproof) combined with the slim profile, OK to bad thermals renders this gimped out of the box. Excellent performance, when not heat throttling, which is never if a game is running and you're not in an icebox.

It won't turn on at all. It was just delivered and did not turn on once. It was open box excellent condition. I'm not sure what Best Buy does to determine "Excellent" condition, but in this case it did not work whatsoever. I'm very bummed out about it.
