As a desktop kind of guy, I never imagined a laptop ever being sufficient for my needs. But this one does it just fine. It's small, quiet, fast. When I plug in the monitor and wireless keyboard it's like a "tower", when I need portability, I can unplug and go. The screen is super-clear and the battery life is fantastic. Highly recommended.

I can't recommend this laptop enough, I've used it heavily for the past week as a college student and it feels like I'm really living in the future when I'm using it, here's why: 1st: It has absolutely amazing battery life while still being light and thin. Whereas with my bulky gaming laptop from 2021 I'd maybe go one day at school and end with 30% battery on low brightness and using it as little as possible, I can use this heavily on high brightness for 4 days and still have 20% battery afterward. The battery life just blows me away, and I knew buying it that I would be getting great battery life because it has one of Intel's brand new Core Ultra Series 2 chips, which leads me to my next reason. 2nd: With this laptop, you get an x86 chip that makes it so that you can get this great battery life without having to use a Macbook with Apple's M chips or a Windows laptop with an ARM chip (such as Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips.) Why does this matter? Because a Windows laptop with an x86 chip is a better experience than a Mac or a Windows for ARM laptop. Personally I prefer Windows to MacOS, and as for Windows for ARM, many applications aren't made for ARM, so if your laptop has an ARM chip, they won't work. But with this new Intel chip, you can still have great battery life without having to sacrifice compatibility with the software you want to use. 3rd: The build quality is very nice, the body is made of metal, and is very thin and light. 4th: The screen is OLED, which means it has great contrast and colors. 5th: This laptop has all the ports I want: HDMI, USB-A, and USB-C, I don't have to buy all these adapters to use devices and displays that use these ports. This is a great all around thin and light laptop that has mindblowing battery life while still working with all my programs and my devices.

I really wanted to try out this laptop ever since I heard about intel's new efficient chip, and wanted to use it from the perspective of a student. After using it for a few days, I can say that it's definitely worth it. The all metal chassis is actually really nice feeling, unlike its other vivobook products that are made of plastic and feel cheap. The trackpad it way better than I thought it would be, but it's not bad for a non-haptic touch pad. The keyboard is also really good, just like the rest of the asus lineup. It's also extremely light, so highly portable. The screen is also really nice, but reflective, which I don't mind but others might. As for performance, I tested this by playing the latest version of minecraft on 16 render, and it ran really well, even off battery. I was getting over 200fps, with drops to about 150. Battery life was also extremely good because of the new intel chip. It excels at low performance tasks, giving battery life for multiple days without charging. You could even get a few hours on it while gaming. This is mainly because the new chip has very limited performance, so stuff like video editing may be off the table. Although Fusion360 ran decently well as long as you're not working on massive projects with hundreds of parts. Fan noise and heat were also minimal, but did heat up a tad bit when gaming. I mainly bought it because I wanted to see how it was, but returned it because I prefer bigger screens, like my 16 inch macbook. If you don't mind a 14 inch screen that is reflective and don't need crazy performance for things that require a large amount of cores, like video editing, this would be an amazing laptop.

First off when compared to the Zenbook, this 14 inch model does not support touchscreen controls. Not a deal breaker for me, happy to have at least the OLED panel and 16GB of memory. Compared to the ZenBook, this 14 inch Vivo book does not lack in build quality. Instead of the vents being on the side on the ZenBook, the exhaust ports are on the back. The Vivo book does not lack in ports, and compared to the ZenBook, the ports on the Vivo book are all on the Left, minus two USB type A ports on the right side. The typing experience is about the same on both machines. I took back the 14inch ZenBook OLED when the Vivo book showed up with a new sale price and with Total Tech extended return policy, I could not resist. It made my wife mad, but the added benefits of better specs will pay for itself in the long run .... Also, closing point, the Vivo Book is so quiet. Granted I do all my work through the web browser but the fans have not kicked on once, and if they have, I could not hear them.

Portable/Lightweight, Bright Screen, Long battery life, Fast performance, Low heat and Quiet. Decent video game performance. Played about 2/3 through TLOU Part 1 getting around 25-55 fps depending on the area. Plays/Looks similar to the PS3 version of the game (all lowest settings). Very playable performance, low heat, and quiet. Speakers are pretty good. Not the best/loudest laptop speakers but still exceeded my expectations for $650. Big touchpad with gestures (volume and brightness sliders on left/right). Good travel distance with keyboard. You are able to change the backlit color of the keys. Keys could be a little brighter at max setting for some colors but still can make out all the keys. Potential Cons for some: -Fingerprint magnet -Older video games (DirectX9/10) may need some tinkering to get to work properly (60 fps) because of the ARC graphics. (Google Intel Arc DXVK) (Needed to do this for Dragon Age Origin, Fallout 3, Deus Ex Human Revolution, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey) -Had to remap the Co-Pilot key with AutoHotkey to the Ctrl Key. Would have been nice for that to be included in the Asus Software. -No fingerprint login/scanner. -Would prefer power button to be on the side or above the keyboard and not be a keyboard button. -Would prefer larger arrow keys.

As technology solutions evolve and improve, our needs change as well. The ASUS VivoBook S14 OLED Laptop is a good example. The compact design is mechanically functional and digitally effective. I was surprised by the number and location of ports. ASUS did not ignore legacy peripheral connections for the sake of compactness-yet they got it all to fit in a lightweight device. It's so lightweight that I had to check a couple of times to confirm the case was metal. Keys are comfortably spaces and the trackpad is sizable and programmed with nice features including brightness, volume and scrubbing control areas. Also, the keyboard is RBG backlit, if that's your thing. It even can be personalized to match the colors in your screen's wallpaper...The lighting can be turned off. The OLED screen is bright and colors are intense, as expected. Response time is more than adequate for the type of operations people expect on a 14" screen. Sound is more than adequate thanks to Harmon Kardon components. So enjoy a movie or music at a little higher volume than you might. I found the WiFi fast and reliable. It found networks quickly and maintained connections. Getting back to ports: There are two 5Gbps USB ports, two USB-C (Lightning), an HDMI, mini headphone jack and a Micro-SD reader. It's a Copilot+PC laptop, so there's a Copilot button for easy access to on-device AI capabilities ("safer and faster response time" Complementary software also provides some nifty features for image generation, editing, video calls and language translation and transcription. Be sure to experiment and explore! Nothing's perfect. The 65watt power transformer is square and the prongs integrated. Similar to the fruit brand. However, the prongs do not retract. Somewhat annoying to me. I also don't know why there's been a movement in keyboards to place the power button to the left of the Delete button...setting up many frustrating moments of accidentally putting the computer to sleep. But that's not exclusive to ASUS.

The ASUS VivoBook S 14 OLED Laptop shines with a sleek and modern design that’s both visually appealing and highly functional. Its slim profile makes it easy to carry, and the placement of I/O ports on either side allows for hassle-free connectivity, perfect for everyday use. One standout feature is the dedicated Microsoft Copilot key, offering instant access to AI tools—a forward-thinking addition that feels natural and beneficial on this device. The keyboard and trackpad are thoughtfully arranged, making typing and navigation smooth and comfortable. With a headphone jack and a front camera privacy slider, ASUS has kept privacy-conscious users in mind, addressing preferences for wired audio and visual security. The OLED display is stunning, delivering rich colors and impressive brightness, which brings a truly immersive viewing experience. Although an anti-glare finish would be nice to reduce reflections, the overall display quality more than compensates, ensuring vibrant visuals even in well-lit settings. The single HDMI output also complements the device’s design, making it a solid choice for those looking for a practical and capable laptop over a tablet. This laptop thoughtfully balances sleek design with essential functionality, making it a compelling choice for anyone wanting a stylish yet practical machine.

An excellent laptop, and excellent value - especially if gotten on sale. The first thing I did was a clean new install of Windows. Although many will want all the "extra" Asus and Windows apps for convenience or productivity, I installed only the basic and necessary apps. This results in a very fast laptop, greater multitasking ability, and larger open storage. I have over 425Gb storage open out of 474 total. Another benefit of this install is that there are minimal apps running, and battery life is extended, I can honestly say I can get 12 to 14 hours. The keyboard is single RGB backlit, and can be controlled under Windows / Personalization / Dynamic lighting. As some have noted, if typing at an angle, the back light glows from under the bottom of the keys. But travel and feel are good when typing. The OLED screen has excellent color, contrast, and perfect blacks. To those complaining of the 60Hz refresh rate, it is not intended to be a gaming machine, and 60Hz is fine. Actual movie frame rate is 24 FPS. Track pad works well, and has side and top "zones" which allow brightness, volume, scroll functions. Although not intended for gaming, this can run basic games with lower requirements. Metal chassis makes the laptop fairly stiff and rigid. I didn't notice any real flex when using. And, the laptop is light, making easy to carry.

On paper, amazing. In person, it's great when everything works right, but there are consistent bugs and glitches. This seems to be a best buy exclusive, so support from Asus is super limited. Current issues: 1.) Wake from sleep limits wifi speeds to sub 100mb/s, turning wifi off and on resets it to full speed (600+mb/s). 2.) Inconsistent power delivery over the thunderbolt port. I have a portable 1080p monitor that can have signal and power delivery over thunderbolt/USB c. This laptop won't provide enough power to do it. When I attach my phone to the PC, I can draw triple the needed power to charge my phone. Even my pixel 8a powers the monitor. Very weird. 3.) keyboard backlight is only adjustable in Windows settings. Not even detected by openRGB. 4.) When the lid has been closed for a few hours without being plugged in, the power button won't wake the PC (this was only after a bios firmware update). Sometimes the mouse will wake it, sometimes the keyboard will, but I either have to plug it in or bash on it for 30 seconds until it wakes up. The pros: Excellent screen. Only cost $450 which is a total steal even with the issues. Battery life is actually as insane as they claim. I spent a week in the hospital streaming videos and playing light games and charged it once in like 25 hours of use. Great keyboard and track pad. Windows hello is amazing. Great I/O. Having USB c and a ports is pleasant. Dynamic ram/vram allocation keeps it running slick for heavy desktop work and gaming.

Great laptop for daily use for productivity and media consumptions. Screen is good that can do 180 degrees flat open, brightness is decent, battery life is good can go 10+ hours, keyboard and trackpad is ok, great ports and connectivity. I can use my external monitor at 4K resolutions but take lot of workloads on the laptop. Intel finally released a decent laptop chip after decades of stupidity. Overall this is a good laptop for its price 500ish. I'm looking forward for the next Intel Panther Lake Ultra Series 3 chip which should be a game changer. I would get this laptop over a tablet in a heartbeat.

This device is fantastic. Yes, it is a bit of a fingerprint magnet as has been established by other reviewers however, the OLED screen is amazing with 600 nits of brightness. At this price point, it's a real good deal! The intel core ultra 5 2nd gen is fantastic, no more fan noise as it is 99% silent. It is also more that fast. Battery life is wonderful as well. The Keyboard is great, and I love that you can change the colors on it. The Harman Kardon speakers are top notch as well. I have been using ASUS for 10+ years, and I must say that this is the best device I have ever bought!!

The ultrabook for the ages: 1. Absolutely stunning design and also suprising quiet operation. Its a joy to carry this thing around and start working from anywhere. 2. The battery life is exceptional, almost unreal. For light use it can last you easily for 1.5-2 days without charging, not to mention the idle battery drain is very low. 3. This panel is Gorgeous, I use a ASUS ProArt 1440p as my mainstay and this panel has even better color accuracy than that. 4. Backlit keyboard and long travel keys are a huge plus and make typing accurate and responsive since I have a tendency to just smash the keys. 5. The overall build is very stealthy and nimble, with just 1.3kg weight I can carry it around instead of a Ipad Pro13 with keyboard cover (dont know why those exist still). 6. TSMC and Intel married together and gave birth to this ultra efficient baby 226V, its not a workhorse or a powerful chip but can operate extemely efficiently, never experienced any lag or slowdown whatsoever even running MATLAB, 4 powerpoint presentations (some of them being several GBs, and a copious amount of Firefox tabs. 7. Windows hello works like a Charm on this laptop. Goodbye to pins and passwords. Cons: 1. The display needs some anti-reflection coating seriously, it is almost impossible to look at the text if there is outdoor light directly on the screen. 2. This thing is a fingerprint MAGNET, would get dirty in no time even with careful use. So I put a skin on top and also covered the palm rest areas of the laptop on the inside, thats doing wonders now and also the laptop looks extremely premium. 3. There is a issue with opening and closing of the laptop makes the display bulge out a bit, although it is not noticeable but it does bother me sometimes.

I got this laptop so I could have a more portable option that is built solid. This is why I think this is the absolute perfect laptop for either a businessman/woman, or a student. It’s extremely lightweight at just under 3 lbs. The low weight does not mean the build quality is sacrificed. The shell is aluminum and compact, but very sturdy. The height is .55” when closed, and just over 12” wide. The screen is 14” with an insanely bright OLED screen (1920 x 1200 WUXGA) resolution. Combined with the weight, the dimensions make it easily packable. It’s extremely convenient to stuff in your backpack, or bag, from class to class, or business trip to business trip. The processor does not lack either with an Intel Core Ultra 5 Series 2 processor. It’s taken everything I’ve thrown at it so far without a hiccup. I don’t understand how this could be used for anything other than light gaming. The graphics card is entry level at best, and the screen refresh rate is only 60Hz. Besides the hard drive is only 512 GB, but at least it’s an SSD. That would fill up way too quick with the size of games out there. It’s a shame too because the resolution with the OLED screen is gorgeous. Don’t buy this if you’re looking for a gaming laptop, do your research and find one made for that purpose. On one side of the laptop there is an HDMI port, 2 USB-C ports, a microSD slot (which is very nice, no adapter needed), and an audio jack. The opposite side has 2 USB-A ports. I was skeptical about the audio system with all the hype I read about Harman/Kardon audio installed. Once I watched some movies on the laptop, I have to say the sound system is better than any laptop I’ve had before. The hype was pretty spot on. Like most laptops there is a front facing camera (1080p resolution). It’s very easy to close when not needed. There is a built-in microphone that honestly I haven’t tested. Only thing I would use it for is Teams, but this is not my company laptop. The keyboard is backlit and customizable. The trackpad is well done in my opinion, with responsive volume controls on the left, and brightness controls on the right (see photo). There is also a bar on the top to move the cursor left and right. The black aluminum exterior surface instantly shows fingerprints. If you eat potato chips or something greasy while using this laptop, rest assured your laptop is gonna provide all the reminder you need of that occurring. Thought this was worth mentioning because some folks are picky about that sort of thing. I will say, I’ve found, that if you spray the outside down with lens cleaner, and hit it with a microfiber cloth, it cleans right up nicely (see photo). The power supply is a 4-cell lithium-ion battery. This really shines too as it lasts me all day long if I’m using it continuously. This is another reason I think this is the perfect laptop for a college student or business individual. Being on the go all the time, does not necessarily provide you with ample time to continuously charge your laptop. If you’re like me and looking for outstanding performance, light weight (portable) and sturdy, with a great battery…you found it. If you’re looking for a gaming beast, scroll on by. I highly recommend this laptop, firm work Asus!

This laptop is stunning inside and out, boasting a sleek chassis and an OLED display that makes colors truly leap off the screen. My wife can’t get enough of how vibrant and sharp everything looks, whether she’s streaming movies or editing photos. Despite its slim profile, the battery delivers solid endurance, easily powering through several hours of light work and browsing. I tend to keep it plugged in most of the time to maintain peak brightness and performance without worrying about running low. The only gripe is the glossy finish—it attracts fingerprints like a magnet, so you’ll find yourself wiping the chassis pretty often. Overall, it’s a gorgeous, capable machine that balances style and substance—just keep a cloth handy. -I had copilot in the pc rewrite my review- pretty cool huh.

I am typing this review on the very laptop. This Asus Vivobook 14 is a great value Lunar Lake laptop (purchase price <$700). It uses the Core Ultra 226V processor, has 16gb RAM, and 512GB storage. OLED screen is nice for price point although refresh rate is only 60hz and resolution is 1980x1200 (16:10). Likewise, the display is not touch screen, nor is the display hinged for 2-in-1 use although the screen does open nearly 180 degrees. The screen is glossy. Still, the laptop has all you need in a lightweight productivity laptop. Thanks to the Lunar Lake series of processors, low power consumption, leading to long battery life--it is not a powerhouse nor desktop replacement nor gaming laptop. Trackpad is a precision trackpad, but not the latest haptic trackapd. Keyboard has single zone RGB (ie. the whole keyboard is one color) although there is a lot of light bleeding between the keycaps themselves. Key travel is OK for a laptop this size. Speaking of size, the laptop is lightweight, less than 3 lbs. It has great port selection (2x USB4/TB-C/TB left, 2x USB3-A, full size HDMI, microsd slot) but would have preferred having one USB-C port on each side to allow for charging on either side. the Build quality is solid, most surfaces are metallic, but is not a single-machined metal block like some premiums devices. Still at this price point, it is a great buy!

This laptop has everything you are looking for.Battery life is really good and standby drain is minimal unlike previous Intel Laptops, which I care the most because I carry my laptop a lot.Build quality is excellent with premium metals, thermals are very good, barely any noise unless I push it too much with multiple apps running in the background. The screen is so good,OLED, bright ,some glares though but usable outdoors, although DC dimming is not available if you lower your brightness too much. Two things I wish Asus did: 1 usb c port on either side, please manufacturers make a norm for that will give consumers more flexibility to charge their devices and 2. Asus could have given a lighter color for their Core Ultra 5 226v model unlike the Core ultra 258v gets a lighter color. This model is extremely prone to smudges and fingerprints. If you don't care that is fine.I carry a cloth to wipe.

I'm not sure if it's worth full price, it's metal, oled, decent specs, there's just something about it that feels like it's a bit undercooked though. Keyboard feels great, touchpad feels mostly good, but can make odd clicking noises in spots, and also just has some weird issues. Like I will be trying to two finger scroll and it just won't work and I have to click twice onto the thing i'm on in order to get it to work again, it like just fails the gesture sometimes. Outside of that it's large, but also kind of sticks a bit, just doesn't glide as well. Performance is really good, almost as good as the ultra 7 version really. Same core count so it's not a huge difference. I like the design, it looks good though as mentioned is a fingerprint magnet. Wish it was a matte screen as well. I had some weird software issues where a few times it wouldn't resume from sleep correctly, and once where the battery sat in 100% and showed 0 drain for like 20 minutes for some reason when i was checking battery drain. Nothing huge. Also the little thing with the screen not closing flat, some weird build issue it feels like. Great laptop, and for a more budget price it's a fantastic value.
