    Decent System for the money

Well. I have been using this for a while and it seems to do the job. A couple of negatives kept this from being a 5 star review. First the positives though. Firstly, it is a pretty fast system, with a decent amount of RAM and reasonable storage. the screen size is also good. I would have preferred to have had Windows 7 over 10, but I will try and upgrade back to 7 at some point later on. Now onto the few negatives. The screen can look somewhat washed out and lose detail unless you are siting in exactly the right position. Not an issue for most probably, but hey, I'm picky about screen clarity and detail. Next up, and the big one... Upgrading the hard disk and/or memory is a nightmare. Unlike 90% of the good laptops out there that have been designed to make it easy to replace/upgrade the memory or hard drive, this beast requires you to pretty much disassemble the entire laptop just to get at them. No simple panels on the bottom to remove. First you have to remove like 12 screws from the bottom panel, then as you pry it apart carefully, you have to disconnect a bunch of very sensitive and highly fragile ZIF ribbon cables. Those clips can break super easy so be very careful. Once you manage to get the bottom half disconnected from the keyboard, you need to remove even more screws and small zif cables. Aso, you need to remove the Optical drive which is also very fragile. Then you can replace the hard drive. To swap out memory you have to go several steps further, actually removing the motherboard from the bottom section. I seriously can only think of one reason why it would be designed like this, and that would be to ensure eventual service fees from voided warranties when people get in over their heads upgrading them. Be careful... I would not recommend this system to a relatively hardware unsavvy user for this reason.

    An Excellent Computer

This ASUS computer is surprisingly easy to use and really has more speed and memory than I need, but the quick response and smooth performance are nice. The computer does take disks , which I find a useful feature. My last computer did not, and I had a hard time getting the external disk drive to work the way I wanted it to work. The search feature on the computer is extremely useful and will direct you exactly where you want to go on the computer. I am very happy with this product.

this was on a few websites as a best computer with a DVD/cd drive. I am a college professor and do lots of off site training. this has the drive, lots of ports, does not need an adaptor for a projector.

Bought this for my daughter after her last laptop finally gave up after 5 years. This computer has been very quick. She has been very happy with this unit.

My Toshiba laptop died. I was used to a removal battery this does not have one to remove. It does what I need it to do, I don't use graphics & have not watched a movie on it. My first Asus hope it goes well. It has Bangel & Olufsen listed as the speaker on the description but it is the not labled on the laptop. Its listed a sonic power.

Great portable unit for video and audio editing. Can burn DVD's, CD's and data discs with the CD/DVD drive. Plenty of room with the 1T drive.

I bought this product last year, I can't deny it its fast and I never have any problem since I start using it, however, my big concern is the touchpad, I am having hard time with it. Left-click button sometime do what Right- click button do and vice versa
