I purchased the Asus Zenbook 14x roughly 3 weeks ago now, and so far I've really enjoyed it. Here are some things that I'm happy with:
1) Performance: It's 99% as fast as my previous Dell XPS 15 9530 with the same processor and RAM. The Dell has a slightly better cooling system w/two fans, so I believe that allows to eke out a tad bit better CPU performance. It's not a noticeable difference by any means, but if you're going strictly by the benchmarks. But, of course, the Dell has much larger body to accommodate a two-fan cooling system.
2) Screen: There's a lot of praise for Asus' OLED screens, and it's completely justifiable. They're bright, color-saturated and plenty vivid. Everything looks crisp on these OLED screens, even scanned copies of old newspapers. The high refresh rate is nice to have, but I honestly have it turned off in favor of longer battery life. HDR videos truly pop once their displayed in full-screen. Fingerprint magnet-yes. Worth it-absolutely.
3)Size: I always felt that 15 inch laptops were too big, bulky and sometimes heavy for my everyday use. But 13-inchers were always too small. So finding a powerful laptop in the 14" range was great. This one is actually 14.5", due to it's taller screen shape.
4) Build quality is top-notch. I hate laptops whose keyboard tray moves up and down when pressed. I can thankfully say that this Zenbook laptop is very structurally solid with little to no bend or flex. I love that!
5) Touchpad is great. 100x better than on my Dell, which struggled with palm detection mightily. After you've had a bad touchpad experience, a good touchpad is worth its weight in gold.
6) USB-A is still present! Yes, I love having dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, but keep around a good ol' USB-A port for the legacy devices is just plain smart.
There are a few areas of improvement I'd make:
1) No SD card slot. I don't use them very often, but I do use them for bulk item backups (pictures and music).
2) Inconvenient power button sometimes gets hit when I'm reaching for the 'delete' button. I prefer if the power button is on the side or somewhere away from the keyboard.
3) Lots of Asus bloatware is included. Everything from screen tools and calibration apps to an app for connecting your phone (which is totally redundant given Microsoft's included My Phone app). It's just a lot...and most of it auto-starts when you boot the PC. Not cool.
Overall, I give the laptop high marks for being a powerful computer in a just-right size. The OLED screen really completes the package! If you're in the market for a do-everything laptop with few compromises, check this one out.

I recently purchased the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED and it’s been excellent. The 14-inch OLED display is vibrant and clear, perfect for media and work. The Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD ensure smooth performance for multitasking. It’s lightweight and portable with a decent battery life of 8-12 hours. The keyboard is comfortable, and the touchpad is responsive. The audio quality is impressive, and the webcam works well for video calls. One downside is the limited upgradeability due to soldered RAM. Overall, a fantastic portable laptop with a stunning display.

I never really write reviews but felt I had to for Asus here. Asus knocked it out of the park with this one. This laptop is amazing. I needed a laptop for writing in bed and travel and not a desktop replacement and this is the one for me after buying and returning a couple of laptops.
First, I already have my high end gaming/work desktop that I built myself. I have a 2020 Razer Blade OLED laptop for gaming when I travel which still works great. I also had a Macbook Air m2 for writing in bed and travel. Although the Macbook Air M2 is an amazing piece of machinery, I do not like MacOs for work. I am heavily invested in Windows and Microsoft Office and I really love it for my work flow. I also switched my work phone to Android so I can see my texts through phone link on Windows easily and help with workflow. I also love OLED and the Macbook always looked washed out to me when I used it. Sometimes, I would break out the OLED Razer Blade for casual and work use in bed to have the OLED eye candy. But, the Razer Blade in bed is a hot and heavy beast and no battery life on gaming machines so it is mostly always plugged in with a heavy brick of a charger. So, I traded in my macbook air (thank you Bestbuy), and went on the search for a better solution.
I initially purchased the Rog G14 OLED, which was actually an amazing all purpose laptop that also allows for high end gaming. Thing is, it had a bulkier charger and I already had my 4k Razer Blade 15 OLED that was still running strong. Although it was much lighter than my Razer Blade, it was a bit bulkier than my Macbook. I really wanted to keep the Rog G14 OLED but it didnt make sense in my setup and I would have had to sell my Razer Blade. So, I returned the G14 OLED. When it is time to upgrade my Razer gaming laptop, the g14 might be the replacement. Razer became ridiculously expensive and I dont even think it has much of an OLED selection anymore.
Next, I purchased the Galaxy Book4 16" 360. It had a beautiful 120hz screen, but that is about it. The speakers were poor. The trackpad was finicky. The keyboard typing felt terrible. There was a lot of bloatware. It felt sluggish and the battery drained quickly, likely because it had to power the beautiful 120hz high end screen. Using it in bed was a nightmare with it slipping all around and the sharp metal edges were digging into my wrists making it an uncomfortable experience. I felt bad to return another laptop to Bestbuy, but I could not keep this, especially since it was pretty expensive. I suffered from the macbook pro butterfly keyboard fiasco and I pretty much never used that macbook pro because of the keyboard and it was not going to happen here. I wanted a good typing experience.
When I was at Bestbuy, I saw this Zenbook 14 OLED and it was a standout. The typing felt very nice and the OLED screen looked beautiful. It felt nice and snappy and the sound blew me away. The only thing that bothered me ON PAPER was the 1080p display only, and not 3k or 4k. I like 4K for text clarity when writing. I have it for my main desktop and for my 15.6 inch Razer Blade OLED. Not having 120hz also bothered me a bit because I love that for smooth scrolling and work flow on my desktop OLED monitor. But after using the Zenbook for a while, the lack of 120hz and 3k or 4k does not bother me. I know that by using a lower resolution and 60hz, it stretches out the battery charge also, which is a trade off that makes sense. If the text looks to small, it is so easy to pinch and zoom on the track pad or the touch screen. Yes, that is another thing. This laptop has touch screen and it is a very nice touch. Pinch and zoom works great.
So all in all, I am super happy with this laptop. Thank you Asus for this.

Fast, vibrant colors, responsive, thin and light. This laptop offers good battery life, better than most I've owned so far. In fact, I like it so much that I bought 2 of them when they were on sale. I won't bore you with technical specs. Suffice it to say, that this laptop has more than enough power for the average user. It can even handle some computationally intensive tasks. So no hesitations, except if you're a big gamer.
It's fun to use with a good responsive keyboard, fast response and, as mentioned, a great display. It even has a touch screen. I bought my last laptop without one because I didn't think I needed it. I immediately regretted not having it. This one does, and it makes navigation much easier. It has an IR camera and can do facial recognition. Its position is appropriately placed at the top of the display. So no meetings with people looking up my nostrils.
Some complain that there aren't enough ports, but remember this is a laptop. It comes with a good selection including 2 USB C, an older USB 3 type port and HDMI ports as well as the expected headphone jack. Of these, the last is probably the least valuable since I, like most people, hook up to private listening wirelessly.
I don't think that you can go wrong with this machine. It is a great under 3 pound ultralite with any cheese added.

I got the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED (model Q425MA-U71TB) a few months back, and I'm really impressed with it! This ultraportable laptop is lightweight and perfect for my on-the-go lifestyle. The 14-inch OLED display is stunning, offering vibrant colors and sharp details.
It's powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and comes with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, which means it handles all my tasks smoothly. The battery life is impressive too—I can easily get through a full day of work without needing to recharge.
The design is sleek and modern, and it has a good selection of ports, including Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C. The keyboard is comfortable for typing, and the audio quality is great. I ended up upgrading the SSD to 4TB to accommodate more pictures and videos. The memory is non-upgradable.
Overall, the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED is a fantastic laptop that combines performance, portability, and style. Highly recommend it!

I was in the market for a windows laptop for about a year and came across this one on YouTube! My needs were a clear screen, 16 GB of DDR5 ram and a decent processor (preferred AMD, but this one is nice and fast), wanted to be light weight too. This checked all those boxes and with 1TB of storage that is upgradable!

Excellent laptop. Duper fast, clear sceen, plenty if storage, very light but solid feel. Battery is exceptional. All day long with multitasking. And getting it at a sale price makes it unbeatable(799). The only negative i would say is that the speakers are built in below the case so depending where the laptop is sitting, it affects the sound. Minor issue for me

I'm a few weeks in and the experience has been wonderful. It seems quite lightweight but durable. The picture is gorgeous. This is my first experience with OLED and I'm very impressed. The battery life has surprised me at how long it has lasted. I've even managed to play some full games at ultra settings. The only concern I had is that if you do run games which are more intensive, it does heat up a bit. However, I've used a USB laptop fan cooling pad sort of thing and it does wonders.
In general, heat isn't an issue, anyway.
I never thought I'd use a touch screen, but it has come in handy far more frequently than I ever imagined.

I had still been using an old Zenbook UX21A that was getting noticeably old but waiting for something comparable to the M1 chips from Apple to replace it (not a fan of Apple software). When this was released it seemed like exactly what I had been looking for, greatly improved screen, massive battery life improvement, and significantly better performance for less than originally paid for the UX21A. The OLED screen on this is really phenomenal, I would have liked the slightly higher resolution screen of the UX3405MA but this version is significantly cheaper and has slightly better battery life because of the lower resolution screen. If I was using this as my main machine I would probably still have gone for the higher resolution screen but for me this is mostly for travel so it wouldn't really make sense. Overall I've been absolutely thrilled with laptop and it's completely eliminated any temptation to go for a Macbook Air.

I have experience with a range of laptops from different vendors and this ASUS Zenbook is by far the best I've used in a while. For less than the price of a base model Macbook Air, you get a ton of memory and storage and an amazing OLED display.
I ran through my normal series of basic tests. 4K video playback, light gaming, Geekbench, battery life tests and I have to say this laptop performs very well. Intel really stepped up with Meteor Lake in this generation.
4K playback was great in terms of frames dropped (zero after 10 minutes on WiFi), quality on screen as well as measured battery life. I left the standard 4K Costa Rica video (popular on YT) playing for an hour at 60% brightness. Battery was still at 91% after one hour and the PC reported 9 hours remaining! What??? On an Intel laptop. But it's true. Doing light tasks like web browsing, watching videos, emailing, etc I could easily see the laptop going for 9-10 hours.
My GeekBench 6 scores were impressive as well. 2,404 single and 13,250 multi. This is honestly mid-range desktop territory.
In light gaming (stuff like League of Legends, Forza Horizon 5) this laptop has no trouble with those. You will not be able to do that with the new ARM based Windows laptops I suspect. I don't own tougher games like Cyberpunk or Starfield but I suspect those would play OK if you reduce resolution to 800p and use XeSS or some sort of frame generation.
Overall, I'm very happy with this laptop!

I've been using my new zenbook 14 oled for 2 months now and it is wonderful. This new one is fast. No wait times for anything. I do a lot of writing, a lot of internet searching, and a lot of photographic use...in all, at least 5 hours per day and it does all of these things without a blip and I'm not seeing any of the heating issues that some mention with regard to powerful laptops these days. It is also amazingly lightweight. I may be getting a 90 day warranty extension because of this review, but, believe me, that isn't affecting a thing I am saying. This is a great machine.

I’ve been using the ASUS Zenbook 14 for a few weeks now, and it’s honestly exceeded my expectations. The FHD+ OLED touchscreen is gorgeous — colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and it’s perfect for both work and streaming. The Intel Core Ultra 7 with Intel Evo certification makes it incredibly fast, and paired with 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD, everything loads instantly.
The lightweight Jasper Gray design feels premium, and the keyboard is comfortable for long typing sessions. Battery life easily gets me through a workday without hunting for an outlet. The touchpad is responsive, and having touch functionality on the screen adds extra versatility.
If you want a laptop that combines style, performance, and portability, this one is hard to beat.

I have used this laptop for all my college and personal needs for a few months now and have had no issues whatsoever. The OLED screen is beautiful and the performance is perfect to keep up with anything you can throw at it. It can handle some games at low settings but don't expect much out of the Intel Arc graphics. Battery life is also excellent, however, I have seen better battery life from other devices and I wish this aspect was a little better. Build quality is excellent with no very minimal flex in any of the device.

After using the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED for a few weeks, I can confidently say it’s one of the best laptops I’ve owned. The OLED touchscreen is stunning—colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and it’s incredibly responsive. It makes everything from web browsing to watching videos a joy. Performance-wise, the Intel Core Ultra 7 with 16GB RAM handles everything I throw at it without a hitch—whether it’s multitasking with multiple tabs, light photo editing, or running heavier applications.
The battery life is also impressive. I can go almost an entire workday without needing to plug it in, which is a huge plus. The build quality feels premium, and the Jasper Gray finish gives it a sleek, professional look. I also appreciate the variety of ports, especially the two Thunderbolt 4 ports for fast data transfer and charging.
If I had to nitpick, the speakers are just okay—not bad, but not amazing either. Also, the fan kicks in during heavier use, but it’s not overly loud. Overall, this laptop offers outstanding value for its price and is perfect for students, professionals, or anyone who needs a fast, reliable, and portable machine. Highly recommended!
