Powerful but screen could be better

This laptop has great specs, intel ultra 7 processor, 16 GB Ram (more would be better) 1 TB SSD, the garphics could be better but it does fine. Super fast, great sound, bright touch screen with backlit keyboard. Only 1 usb A , another would be adequate, No SD card come on now ;/ . Great battery life, yay. These specs usually come in the $1000 range which is why this is a steal at $699. Still overpriced at $1000 though. The 14 inch screen is the perfect size for me but, biggest draw back is that the resolution is only 1920x1200 at 60hz. This is basically just full HD 1080P. My 8 year old laptop has 2736x1824 resolution and there is a big noticeable difference in sharpness and detail and fov of the windows interface and menus. For me this is a big downgrade and since i would be using this for photo editing, this is not adequate. The fact that companies are still selling laptops and monitors of poor resolution quality is a huge shame. 8 years later and this brand new tech is still obsolete with the screen resolution. That's just not right. This could have been the perfect laptop but there always seems to be a catch somewhere. If you just need this for school, browsing, or work without needing it for editing or creative work or just dont care about obsolete resolution, this will be perfect for you. The screen isnt bad at all, its just a downgrade for me.

    The display…Oh the display.

This computer has been awesome. We are running a mobile business with cloud based software, that is very demanding of the processor and this thing does it with ease. At first the touch screen was a bit annoying but I have come to like it. Battery life seems normal for what we are doing, and the display…oh the display…a delight for the eyes. Overall this is well worth the initial investment! Will soon be buying 2 more. ***My 1 and only complaint has nothing to do with the computer at all. We were told at the store that Windows 11 Pro is not available from Best Buy for this machine so we had to buy the Pro edition separately. If you need 11 Pro budget for an additional $100.

I bought this laptop for college. All I knew going into it was that I didn’t want a Mac. I have had this laptop for the entire first semester and I love it. I haven’t had one problem with it. It is reliable and durable and fast. I’ve never had an Asus before but I recommend it for sure. It’s light weight for bringing it to class and the picture is so clear. The battery lasts a long time too!

This laptop is built well, feels like it was meant to handle business, and is the most powerful laptop I’ve owned. The processor and RAM means almost any task is doable on this thing. The onboard graphics aren’t terrible, though if you wanted to do some serious gaming, an eGPU would be a good investment. It also has two thunderbolt ports, a USB-A port, and headphone jack. The battery usually lasts me all day at school.

    Honest review. Wasn't incentivized.

No, I've not been incentivized to write this review. No promotions. It's still early days (as I picked this up on the 13th of April) but I thought it important to post my feelings about this machine ASAP. Speed: I had an 8265U LG Gram before and this Asus feels about double the speed but Windows 11 is fairly inefficient (especially Windows Explorer). First time launches of newly installed apps are slow but I think Windows may be writing a bunch of files during this initial launch. Subsequent launches (even a few days later) are fairly quick. Web surfing (I use Firefox) is faster but the bottleneck here is how fast your ISP can deliver the content. But I have no complaints here. The screen is wonderful although, without a 360 degree hinge, why even bother with a touch screen? It just gets fingerprints so I don't even use it. But the 1920 x 1200 resolution, the extremely bright screen (which may be dimmed without flickering), and the sharpness is just first-rate. The keyboard has plenty of space, large enough keys, and the key travel is perfect. The build quality is excellent; no flexing yet still very lightweight. The only issue I've encountered is a strange touchpad behavior. The hardware is all fine, I believe, but when I enable tapping, the right-hand 1/2" of the touchpad (from top to bottom) will not register a tap. That part of the pad does work for moving the cursor and even two-finger scrolling so I know the hardware is fine; it's just a goofy driver that Asus hasn't yet sorted out. If I were to put a narrow piece of adhesive tape vertically on that right-hand area, I'd not use that section of the touchpad and wouldn't experience this problem. But I do want to stress that I do expect it to be fixed by Asus eventually with an updated driver. Accordingly, I took of one star for bad Asus software QC. But I won't return the unit as it does, in every other way, meet or exceed my expectations.

Excellent product and delivery from Best Buy. The display is glossy which is something that I though it would bother. Nonetheless, for indoor use it is fine and the quality is amazing. In general the unit is well built and very portable. Battery life is incredible. I do not use it for heavy processing and so far it is pretty adequate for normal use with windows, excel, word, power point and some engineering applications as well.

Happy with this replacement for older Zenbook

This laptop replaced an older Zenbook that had a few glitches from the start and was finally in its death throes. I hesitated on this one because of the previous laptop, but this one works great. I've had it for almost six months and haven't had any problems with it. In particular, the touchpad and battery life - the two issues I had with the older laptop - are working as they should. I also like that it's much lighter than my old laptop, so it's better for travelling. My uses are mainly MS Office and finance apps and web surfing. No gaming, so I can't speak to quality or battery life for gaming. Regular daily use is great, though.

I have been using the Asus Zenbook for 9 years. I was satisfied with my previous one and enjoyed the current one. It has a premium built quality, comparable to a MacBook Pro. It is ultra-slim, handy, lightweight, and easy to carry everywhere. The battery backup is outstanding. Overall, I am satisfied.

This is my 2nd Asus laptop, did a lot of research before going with the Zenbook. This offers good speed and portability, it feels cooler and lighter and hit the mark for my needs. Importantly, the associate at the store was really patient and guided me through a number of alternatives before settling on this. So far so good, I am happy with my purchase.

Pros : Portability, Battery life, Display, Light weight. I got it on sale i think it was worth the money vompared to over priced macbooks.

I bought this on May 15th when it was marked down to $799 (or $699 for us Total Tech subscribers.) I see it is now $699 for everyone. It's a steal at this price. It is extremely light weight. The i7 processor rocks. The limitations are the graphics card mainly. Also, when I have a lot of browser windows open it uses up the RAM, even with 16 megs, and slows it down. I thought modern browsers put the tabs in sleep mode to stop that. I mostly use Firefox. Perhaps I need to change. The ASUS utility program is very helpful. My CTO recommended this instead of a Dell XPS and I am very happy I listened to him. Also consider being a Total Tech subscriber.

The computer is fast but there are quirks to it. It overheats quickly and the speakers work when they want to. I can't even plug in speakers or use Bluetooth to get the audio to work when they are acting up. I bought this computer to do online work and it has been more of a hassle than what it's worth. If you buy it, I'd highly recommend buying the extended insurance, just in case.

I am obsessed with my laptop! I was looking to get a new laptop for school, I used to have a MacBook Air but wanted to stray away from another Apple product because I feel like they’re so quick to break down and be constantly upgrading. My asus has been absolutely amazing it’s lightweight, sleek and very comfortable to type.

This is a small but powerful laptop for business and school uses. This is not much of a gaming laptop. It does very well in everything I've thrown at it, aside from gaming. The battery life is plenty long. It is enough to last me from 7-2:45PM with enough to spare for the rest of the day. And if you have to charge it, it charges quickly with the included 65 watt charger. I use a larger power brick with mine and it still charges well. The screen is fantastic. It gets bright enough for most uses, although it is very reflective. With it being OLED, you are able to view content in a way that beats normal LCD displays. The only potential downside to the display is that it's "only" 1080P quality. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio so you get even more space vertically. The touchscreen is not a must need but it is welcome to have.

I've had this laptop for aboout 4 months. I mostly browse internet, youtube, pay bills. No real work like ms office, graphics, dev tools etc. so can't comment on that. I got it to take something smaller and lighter on vacation than my old faithful 15" macbook pro, and it worked great in that capacity. I considered a 13.6" macbook air but the asus' slightly larger screensize and better specs for the price range won me over. PROS: Performance and response is great. The keyboard is good quality, no sponginess. The display is quite nice. CONS: -Speakers are the worst I've ever heard, and I've been in IT for 30 years - meaning I've worked with lots and lots of laptops. -The thunderbolt/USB-C ports where the power adapter connects aren't far enough back. When I sit on the couch with this in my lap, either leg crossed, the cord is in the way. NEUTRAL but worth noting -The touchpad is sometimes a little too sensitive and I am apparently clicking on things when just attempting to move the pointer. This isn't all the time, so maybe its me.
