||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't recommend it. After the third week, the blue screen appeared and it wouldn't do anything else. I took it to Best Buy, and their response was, "Call Asus for their warranty." Both the service and the laptop were very bad.

Near perfect portability
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this laptop daily for over a week, maybe two, before writing this review. I really wanted to get some time on it. My other laptops are all pretty much forgotten at this point. There is no best laptop for everyone. Every laptop, no matter how good it is, is a collection of trade offs. The best laptop, for any particular person, is the laptop that made the trade offs that most align with that individual's needs. I, myself personally, do have a preference for small and portable laptops, but not so small and portable that sacrifices have to be made to get there that make them harder to use on their own. This is because something small and portable can still be hooked up to a larger monitor, external keyboard, etc. when I am stationary, but I can easily transport it when needed. This has put the sweet spot for me, for years, in the 12” to 13” range (smaller than this). To get down into that profile, some tradeoffs tend to get made, like higher cost, less available ports, less room for battery, less screen real estate, especially height, but they are tradeoffs I am willing to accept. I know a lot of people don’t connect their laptops to external monitors like I do, and for them, maybe something with a larger screen lets them work more comfortably, which, again, is why there is no best laptop for anyone. Staying above 12” allows me to have a full size keyboard while staying pretty much as small as can be. 14” widescreen laptops were really at the high end, in size, of what I ever liked to tote around. With that said, that is not the only form factor I have used in the past, or currently even use today. I would also get, and still own bigger laptops too, when I need the graphics power of a GPU in a laptop, for example. I don’t like carrying them around though, I use them, because I need what they have to offer. This laptop, for me, is my new personal sweet spot. The width footprint is basically identical to my 13” 2 in 1. However it is about an inch deeper, front to back, which provides more screen space, especially height, with very little sacrifice in portability. So it is almost as portable as a 12”, almost an imperceptible difference in width from a 13”, but with more usable screen real estate. As the screen reaches almost edge to edge, it feels like a 12” of old, back when displays had bezels. This also leaves plenty of room for a generous sized trackpad, with room for regions for controlling volume, screen brightness, scrolling, etc.. It is not a 2 in 1, but in the 5-6 2 in 1s I have owned over the years, I have found, especially once I get past a 12” display, I don’t really like using a 2 in 1 in a tablet mode. The display is really too big at that point, and no matter how thin it is, having the keyboard flipped around the back of the display is still too bulky for comfortable use. So, for me past 12”, I am not really interested in a 2 in 1, and even at 12”, I would rather have a 10-11” tablet with a completely removable keyboard. I say all this to explain why this not being a 2 in 1 is not an issue at all, as far as I am concerned. Even though this is not a 2 in 1, it does still have a touchscreen display, but in all honesty, that is the one feature on this laptop I will probably never use, but that’s me. So, it is a bit wider than it needs to be for the keyboard, but I think that extra width is really worth it in this case for that extra screen width, and the extra depth for the extra screen height. Some laptops use that extra real estate on either side of the keyboard for upward facing speakers, which they don’t do here, I think because they use the sides for venting, but it still sounds really good. The build quality is great. The keyboard and the backlight passthrough keys are also fantastic. Just enough to light, but not so bright to blind you. Not only that, but in this diminutive chassis, they still somehow managed to find room for a full HDMI port, something my 13” was not able to pull off. This lets me leave the HDMI dongle at home. Any smaller or thinner than it is, and I don’t think that would be possible. With its great battery life, as long as you charge it every night, you may also be able to leave the power supply at home too. While I haven’t gotten the claimed 18 hours, it can last me all day. This actually makes it even more portable than something slightly smaller where you need to carry a dongle to plug in to an external display and a brick to keep it charged. It also has a camera cover, which I think should be pretty standard today, but for some reason, it is not. It also features facial recognition making logging in quick and painless. It just checks off almost every single box I look for. As I said before, every laptop is a series of trade offs, and as far as I am concerned, this laptop has made most of the right ones. While it is not the cheapest laptop out there, it is also not super expensive. It comes with the latest Intel Ultra 9 Series 2 285H chip, which is what allows it to have the graphics performance and battery life it does. Coupled with the generous 1TB of storage and the 32GB of ram, I really think this is a good value. Also, the 1920x1200 OLED display is crisp and clear, It looks great and is perfectly usable, which makes it, to me, not worth the tradeoffs needed for a higher end display. In daily use, this thing is also running very cool. It is really quiet too. If the fan is even running, which I am not sure it is, while doing day to day tasks and browsing the web, not often anyway, you can’t hear it. Not only does it have great battery life, but it charges really fast too. It did warm up a bit while it was charging, but as the battery life is so good, I don’t need to keep it plugged in and charging while working with it on my lap as I do many other laptops. Also, while working with it in that way, I don’t feel like I am blocking all of its vents, as I often do, nor does it act like it is not getting enough air flow. Out of the box, it did require a couple of software updates, even a firmware update, but they were fairly quick and painless. I can usually find a few things to complain about with any laptop placed in my hands, because I have a lot of different needs and it is always hard to find something where I don’t have to sacrifice something. Small and portable, but at the sacrifice of performance or missing ports, or high performing, but bulky and power hungry with a big power brick and short battery life. With this laptop, I am mostly at a loss. I actually wouldn’t change much. I might have swapped the positions of one of the two thunderbolt 4 ports with the USB A port. That way it would have a USB C port on each side. This would increase flexibility for where to plug in a power supply for charging or an external monitor. I also prefer the front edge of the body where my wrists wrest to have a slightly more rounded corner. While this isn’t the sharpest edge I have encountered on a laptop, and while the extra depth of this does provides enough space that my wrists don’t have to wrest on that sharper edge, it is a force of habit. I think that those are the only changes I can think of at the moment. All in all, I am just super impressed with it. It checks most of my boxes. I can’t think of any other model I have seen that I would prefer over this at the moment. I think it is a great mix of portability, price and performance. They have made all the right trade offs. It is near perfect, for me. I would also have no problem recommending this to almost anyone as a starting point when they ask me what laptop they should consider buying. I have a friend that has been asking me to help them choose something for a few months, and after using this for just a week, I told them this is what I think they should get. I think it would be a great laptop for almost anyone. Not only would I recommend it to a friend, I already have.

Great laptop but falls just short of 5 stars
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bottom Line Up Front: This is a great laptop, but I cannot give it five stars. If you want a fast, lightweight, non-gaming machine with a nice touchscreen display, this is a great pick. However there are a few reasons explained below that prevent me from giving it a perfect five. If I could, I would go 4.5, or even 4.75. However, I can't justify a five for a machine that costs this much. Having said that, I do recommend this laptop. Positives: - This PC is extremely fast. The Intel Core Ultra 9 Arrow Lake processor with 32 GB of RAM makes a huge difference. - My two year old previous machine had an Intel Core i7 with 16 GB Ram was no slouch. This machine is so much faster. - The OLED graphics are very nice. It is a FHD+ machine (1920x1200). However, could a PC at this price point have a bit more resolution? Your call. - The touchscreen works well. - The PC is very lightweight - only 2.8 pounds. It is really easy to carry and maneuver. - I like the Copilot key and am finding myself using Copilot more and more. And Copilot runs much faster on this machine than my previous PC. - The power supply is "integrated" which means the supply has one plug (albeit a bit bulky) with the USB C cable attached. You don't need a separate "brick" as my previous laptop. - The PC has a headphone jack. It may not get used much in the world of bluetooth headphones, but it is good to see a manufacturer still incorporating one. - The WiFi 7 connection worked fantastically. The speed obtained was almost the same as a wired ethernet connection I have in the same room with many walls between it and the router. - Two Thunderbolt 4 ports at 40 Gbps are good (albeit fairly standard for a laptop in this price range). - There was little "software bloat" preloaded. I only had to remove a few items. Kudos to Asus for that. Negatives: - There is no media card reader. It is shameful that a machine in this price range does not include a media card reader. - If Asus is looking for reducing costs, it would be so much better to have a media card reader than a headphone jack - which won't get used much by most. - The USB 3.2 port is first Gen 1 and therefore has a speed rating of only 5 Gbps. For a $1300 machine, I would expect Gen 2 USB 3.2 USB port (10 Gbps). - This is not a 2 in 1 laptop that has a tablet mode. Again, maybe a $1300 laptop should be (although because it isn't, it is probably a bit lighter than if it was a 2-1). - I can understand why Asus put they delete key in the very top right hand side of the keyboard, but the power button is directly to the left and is a bit quirky. - A very basic quick start guide is included, but it took a bit of internet searching to find the full electronic PDF manual. - The 112 page manual at first glance seemed like it should be good, but it was pretty basic and most of it was simple Windows instructions. - The manual did not mention apps that came pre-loaded like MyAsus, GlideX or Screen Xpert - apps with which I am unfamiliar since this is my first Asus PC. - The audio quality (even with a separate app called "Dolby Access" (again not described in the manual)) was certainly no great shakes - especially with the speakers on the bottom of the machine. It is fine, but not very impressive. Having said, I personally never listen to anything worthwhile through the PC speakers, but I have heard better. - Windows 11 Pro would also have been a nice touch in a $1300 PC. Summary: The two predominant reasons I cannot give 5 stars is due to the lack of a media card reader and, secondarily, the USB 3.2 port is Gen 1. For a machine in this price range, a media card reader should be standard, and it should possess a Gen 2 USB 3.2 port. The electronic PDF manual was also a bit lame and failed to explain some of the embedded Asus apps. But this laptop is a speed demon. I love it. It is lightweight and the WiFi 7 was also extremely fast. So if you can do without a media card reader and a Gen 2 USB 3.2 port, this laptop, should be at the top of your list. Recommended.

Portable Power in a Solid Package
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asus has refreshed their lineup of the popular Zenbook, this model featuring the latest top end chip from Intel, the Ultra 9 285h, and loaded with 32gb of RAM and 1TB of storage. Should you consider this laptop for your on-the-go computing needs? Let’s dive in and find out. The packaging is an unassuming carboard box, like many non-gamer laptops these days. Opening it up, the laptop is slightly elevated and easy to remove with minimal packaging, all of which appears to be recyclable, minus the thin plastic wrap that protects the laptop during shipping. Other than the laptop, there is a compact 65W USB-C power supply (that sadly lacks folding plugs) and some basic documentation. As the laptop is unwrapped I was immediately struck by how solid the build quality feels for a thin and light laptop. It rivals the build quality of Apple or Microsoft Surface laptops. The chassis and lid are all metal, and it’s very nice. It feels sturdy, Asus even brags that these thin and light laptops are military drop rated. It doesn’t show smudges easily and has an understated and classy finish. Powering up the laptop, you are greeted with the usual Windows 11 startup fun, with updates etc to download and get going with. After all of that is complete, you land on a very clean and refreshingly uncluttered desktop. Asus has kept the bloat to a minimum here. No crazy built in software trials to delete, just their useful “MyAsus” software to perform driver and system updates, and set some of the system settings such as fan presets and power levels. Speaking of – I recommend downloading the available updates right away from MyAsus. There are firmware updates for the SSD and a BIOS update, amongst others. I also downloaded the Intel Support Assist software to get some of the latest drivers directly from Intel, especially the Arc Graphics drivers and software. This model is equipped with a 1920x1200 resolution OLED touchscreen display that is locked at 60hz. While not the highest refresh rate or display resolution, it is clear and has the extremely high contrast, vibrant colors, and response time that only OLED can provide. It does support HDR and looks very good for images or video. It’s functional and can get bright enough for most settings if needed. Performance-wise, the Ultra 9 will chew through just about anything you can throw it at. Coupled with a whopping 32gb of memory and a 1TB NVMe solid state drive, this laptop can crank out productivity all day. It features an NPU and GPU that enable the latest Copilot+ onboard AI features, if those are important to you. It can even play many games with the onboard Arc graphics. While it can’t rival a discrete graphics chip, it does support Intel’s advanced XeSS AI upscaling and the 32gb of high speed system memory means there is enough space to load higher resolution textures when gaming. It has the same chipset as some handheld gaming PCs, but with a bigger battery, display, and keyboard, all in a thin and light form factor. You’ll have to pack your own controller though. Under full load you can hear the cooling fan, but it isn’t overly loud and the laptop gets warm but never hot. For connections, the Zenbook offers 2 Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a USB-A port, a headphone jack, and one standard-size HDMI port. It’s enough for most uses, and you can always connect to a dock for more ports if needed. The keyboard (which I am using to write this review) and touchpad both feel high quality. The touchpad supports gestures on the edges – slide up or down on the left side to control volume, across the top to skip tracks back or forward, or up and down on the right side to control brightness. I did manage to accidentally activate the controls a couple of times, but overall it’s handy to have those options close. If it’s a constant bother you can turn them off in the MyAsus software. The keyboard has the right amount of resistance and keys snap back into place; it doesn’t feel mushy. The keys are also backlit. The speakers, although featuring a Dolby Atmos label, are just ok. Laptop speakers don’t have a reputation for being amazing, and these are pretty typical. Most users will be using a headset or other speakers for any serious audio, so these serve their purpose if you need audio on the go. Battery life seems decent for a laptop using a top end Ultra 9. It’s a little more power hungry than some ultra-efficient chips, but the tradeoff is a powerhouse of a laptop in a light and thin package. In the hour or so I’ve taken to write this review so far, it’s only gone down 5%. Of course, performing more demanding tasks can burn through the battery much more quickly. Overall, if you are looking for a new Windows 11 laptop for general and content use that can dabble in games and more advanced content creation, this is one you should consider. The build quality and materials are both top notch. If you want to spend a little more, you can get the step up 3k OLED display, but for most people this model’s display is just fine, and takes less power to run.

This Zenbook 14 can go the distance!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As the happy owner of an ASUS - ROG Zephyrus 14" FHD 144Hz Gaming Laptop with the AMD Ryzen 7 with 16GB DDR4 Memory, a 512 GB SSD and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 for almost a year and half now that I have used as my "travel laptop" due to not only all the features mentioned above but also it's small footprint and light weight, I was thrilled to be able to review this newest ASUS Zenbook! And yes, I bought that ASUS ROG from Best Buy with my own money and it has been more than worth the purchase price! This new ASUS Zenbook is beyond light and despite its near featherweight it, like my ASUS Zephyrus, has proven quite durable in the short time I have been testing it. I often travel by motorcycle through the mid and western states to visit family and this 14" ASUS Zenbook is the perfect travel companion for such adventures! It recently survived 1,500+ miles of motorcycle travel across 3 western states and never failed me in any way shape or form. Prior to heading out, the first thing I did was transfer all my photos and music to this laptop. I like music and now there are over 30,000 songs on the Z'book along with over 100 recent photographs from my recent trip with a stop in the historic town of Tombstone, AZ! I am not much of a photographer but a family member is (they use Digital SLR cameras!) and they often send me photographs of their motorcycle rides and this Zenbook reproduces their pictures superbly! My photos are more memories, theirs are more artwork! I tend to think most folk here use their laptops for pleasure and as I am retired that is exactly what I do. I have used this in hotels to watch a movie on MAX, Prime Video, MGM+ and Disney Plus and without a doubt the video displayed is gorgeous! I have a 4K Laptop that I bought years ago from Best Buy and that screen's display is subjectively slightly worse than the stunning Full High Definition OLED screen on this Zenbook (and yes, I am aware that the source of the movie is important!). Having said that, it is equally important to acknowledge that technology marches on and the OLED screen on this is an outstanding example of just how good things such as computer screens are becoming better and better with the advancement of technology! The speakers, though small are more than adequate and up to the task of playing the traditional Jazz and Pop Vocals of the '40s on up through the '80s without a glitch that I enjoy. I don't expect deep bass but I do expect no distortion at the comfortable level that I listen music and watch movies with and the Zenbook doesn't disappoint. Being a retired Electronics Technician, I take good care of my equipment be it a test item from a manufacturer or one I have bought myself from Best Buy. I also notice build quality which leads to a long and useful life due to the use of quality materials which yield excellent real world durability. Like that years old 4K laptop and my 1.5 year old ASUS ROG Zephyrus 14" laptop, I have zero concerns that this 14" ASUS Zenbook will be just as durable and useful to me in the years to come. I also performed multiple download and upload speed checks with the average download at home being well into the high 600 mbps and uploads averaging over 100 mbps. Said tests were done in my home and on the road at hotels using Speedtest's site and hotel speeds were not nearly as fast as my home's network but I never experienced and problems. Music and movies were played without any buffering even in hotels and as I said, the picture on this 14" OLED Zenbook is wonderful. I have no hesitation in recommending the ASUS Zenbook 14 to anyone that wants a very fast, very portable, quality built laptop for not only home use but travel. I subjected it to my personal litmus test of traveling with me via my motorcycle for over 1,500 miles and this is yet another real world reason I can recommend this Zenbook. For those that say my experience wasn't long enough I would remind you that my ASUS ROG 14" laptop has survived literally thousands miles on trips from the west coast to the mid west of America and still looks and works like NEW! That is proof enough for me that this Zenbook should be with me for years to come. I will take good care of it as I do all my equipment. It earned its 5 Star rating from me because it does everything I ask of it without fault or fail.

Solid College Computer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Zenbook 14 is a very sleek and lightweight laptop. It is less than 3 pounds. And it has a nice grey look to it, which doesnt seem to keep fingerprint smudges. I have been looking for a solid laptop for my daughter for college and this checked all of the necessary boxes. It has a very nice 14 inch OLED display, that is both bright and crisp, and its able to lay completely flat. I was surprised to see ASUS switch to a USB-C type charging cable, which I find to be extremely convenient as opposed to a proprietary one like on my other ASUS laptop. Out of the box it comes with 32 GBs or RAM, so I know it will be able to handle the 20+ tabs open on Chrome that my daughter has to have open at all times. It's powered by a 16 core Intel Core Ultra 9 processor that maintains a steady 2.9Ghz frequency but can boost up to 5.1 Ghz. My daughter primarilorwill use it for every day computing use of photo editing software and drawing, so it seems like a perfect fit. The only real downside for this laptop is the gpu, so it's not really going to be able to play games. But overall I think its a very solid College computer.

Good performance + battery life, great portability
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Zenbook notebook pairs one of Intel's most powerful laptop CPUs with an impressively sleek yet sturdy design. This particular model isn't the top spec in every regard, but I like the component choices Asus made for it. After using it for about a week, I have nothing significant to really criticize. Right away, this computer made a favorable impression. It's not the thinnest laptop I've used, but is easy to handle and very light. Nonetheless, the build quality seems solid and it feels like it's made out of premium materials. The port selection is good; I appreciate the inclusion of USB type-A and HDMI, even though I'm satisfied using adapters with USB type-C ports. The included power adapter has a permanently attached USB cable (if adapters are going to use USB PD, I appreciate a separate cable that can be replaced) but that is inconsequential. On first start-up, I noticed how nice the OLED screen looked. This is the first laptop I've used with OLED, and it really does look nice. Although Asus has a 120 Hz 3K OLED screen as the top-spec option for these Zenbooks, I find 60 Hz and the 1920x1200 resolution of this model to be perfectly adequate. In fact, the pixel density is pretty much perfect for me, just as it is. The trackpad feels good and works well. I also really like the feel of the keyboard - I think I would rate it as one of the top two or three laptop keyboards that I've used. Commendably, Asus has not saddled this with a bunch of software bloat out of the box. The Zenbook had a very clean experience, with the only "extra" I noticed by the MyASUS application. And even that application has uses beyond running factory diagnostics and downloading drivers. It exposes some useful settings, like an optional Battery Care mode that smartly limits charging to 80% to extend the lifespan if you frequently keep the laptop plugged in. (I've become a fan of such features, especially when they easily allow charging to 100% when you'll need to work off battery for an extended time.) Speaking of battery life, this laptop has markedly improved battery runtime compared to the last Intel-based laptop I used. I think this is mostly due to the power efficiency improvements Intel has made than the size of the battery. Having heavily used an ARM-based laptop over the last year, I can't quite call the battery life "impressive," but it's certainly still very good (and with an Intel CPU, this laptop won't suffer from the various minor software incompatibilities I've noticed over time with Windows on ARM). The performance is very good, as it should be with a Core 9-designated CPU. Everything has felt snappy. The extra RAM on this particular model doesn't hurt to have, either. (As a software developer, I appreciate having more memory.) Although I haven't noticed it to be a drag on the system, I did observe that the included SSD's benchmarked speeds fall short of the best Gen 4 drives. Luckily, the NVMe drive on this model is replaceable if I eventually feel the need to have a faster one. The integrated Arc GPU is a significant improvement for Intel chips and can capably handle some light gaming. Intel did not include an NPU that meets Microsoft's requirements for the Copilot+ AI features in the chip used in this Zenbook, but all the regular AI features of Windows 11 are supported just fine. All-in-all, this is a good computer, and I would recommend it for most people. For people after the absolute best battery life, I think an ARM (Snapdragon X) laptop will serve better. Gamers may not be satisfied with the integrated GPU, as much improved as it is. Other than those use cases, though, I don't think this Zenbook model would disappoint anyone that values a highly portable computer with plenty of power for productivity tasks, or a beautiful OLED display for media consumption.

Solid system for everyday use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing – Let me start by saying I a big fan of the way that ASUS packages that upscale laptop. They are well protected and the way that the laptop pops up when you open the box is really pretty cool. Inside the box, you’ll find all the basic things you would expect with the laptop. Touch and feel – This seems pretty sturdy for a 14-inch laptop – Others have not so much but for its size this one seems to be robust. I really like the touch and feel of the keyboard – the key spacing is good and has a very good feel to it. I have wide hands and find sometimes the space to be a problem when typing but didn’t experience that with this keyboard. As for the trackpad – IT has some nice features, and it is quite large for this size – the ability to use sliders on the top and side for various volume and screen control is a value-add feature – I kind of wish they’d screened it onto the laptop rather than the pull off protection. The pad function was adequate – a few times it had problems tracking my movements and taps but nothing out of the ordinary that I have seen on others. The lid and screen seem sturdy – not always the case in a 14-inch thin profile laptop. Overall, I’m really impressed in this area. Setup - not sure why every Windows PC takes 2 days' worth of updates (maybe exaggerating a bit but it seems way too long) – I know I’ve posted this before however it is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. After setup things were ready – there were a bit of “free” trials that I had to opt out of but nothing major, this is a positive as I’ve had other vendors be much more persistent in loading stuff that you don’t need or want. It is loaded with Windows 11 Home and works as you would expect. Functionally – not really sure how to rate the laptop as it really depends upon your particular needs and what your end use for the laptop will be. If you want to use it for basic office-type work (email, MS Office, web browsing, etc..) this system is more than enough. If you're looking for something with high graphics or video rendering then I would recommend something else – I did find that in graphic intense games, it struggles a bit and video rendering chewed up most of the system resources but nothing that caused it to crash. As far as the hardware the camera works very well for video conferencing, and it performed almost flawlessly with Windows Hello – I think I only had one hiccup during my test time, and that may have been due to ambient lighting. No issues with the ports are and other hardware, however a couple of small things. While it does have 2 USB C ports and an HDMI it only has one USB A port – a 2nd one would have been nice. The other thing is the location of the power switch on the keyboard – it is the second key on the top right – a bit of an odd placement, out of habit I press the key beside it to turn it on. The WiFi was very fast in the same room and had pretty strong signal strength as I moved away from the router source. Not the best I’ve seen but still able to stream 4K without any issues until I was outside of my house. I hooked it up to a USB C doc and experienced no issues or system drag. Bottomline – This is a great little laptop for the common user – probably a bit stronger than you really need. If you’re looking for a gaming or video rendering capability this will function however there are limitations. Overall, ASUS has a strong system, and I would recommend it.

Feature packed powerhouse!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS Zenbook 14 laptop has a beautiful OLED FHD+ (WUXGA?) screen with intel ARC graphics. There is an intel core ultra 9 processor, a 1 TB SSD and 32 GB Ram. There are 2 USB C ports, 1 USB A port, a HDMI port and a mini-plug port for audio. I love it that this laptop charges through a USB C port so that I don't have to travel with a dedicated bulky transformer. I have also come to love the dedicated Copilot button on the keyboard. While I haven't fully explored AI, it is very handy to ask Copilot questions from whatever you are doing. I have also discovered having Copilot create images that I describe. My granddaughters love some of the copilot generated images we asked for together. The video quality is top notch as is the Dolby Atmos sound. The trackpad is set up so that you can scroll, adjust the volume and adjust the brightness simply by sliding your finger in the designated area. This is the first trackpad I have used that has this handy feature. The initial setup was simple, but I will say that there seemed to be a more than the average amount of downloads, updates etc. the first few days. There is one issue I have yet to resolve, Microsoft has installed links to all of the folders I have in Microsoft One Cloud. These links occupy about half of my desktop. I like to keep my desktop sparsely populated with the few things I frequently use. I tried to copy the links to a single folder but found that the OS wanted to copy the contents (not just links) of the files to the folder (estimated to take many hours). I'm not sure whether this was a result of Microsoft setting up my account on this computer or perhaps an external drive I could have used. This isn't a big deal but a bit frustrating. This computer is lightweight, thin, has killer graphics and sound, a large fast SSD and 32 gigs of ram. The keyboard and trackpad are comfortable and work well. There is a lot to love in this little powerhouse.

CoPilot + FDH+OLED display for streaming +graphics
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asus Zenbook 14" with FHD+OLED pen and touch screen. This is an awesome compact PC that can neatly fit in a tote bag or backpack while commuting. As the owner of a small t-shirt business and hobbyist, I use several programs for image creation, graphic design, digital art, and photo editing. I will have to say that this Zenbook's FHD+OLED display color accuracy is on point! When streaming, the image quality is unbelievable! This Zenbook comes equipped with CoPilot AI free version. CoPilot helps me tremendously with my productivity, just type a prompt, and a few seconds later I have the digital art that would have taken hours to create! Included in my box: ZenBook and 65W power supply cable. Getting started- The ZenBook automatically recognize my WiFi home network. After signing in to Microsoft and setting up the security features, PIN and Face recognition the updates start. This took about 15 minutes for the first updates, then about 45 minutes to install all updates and drivers. I also had the option to setup the Zenbook from one of my other computer backups. This is nice if you want to sync your network PC's. The ZenBook has a backlit keyboard, one USB-Type A, two Thunderbolt USB-C, one HDMI, and one combo audio jack. Weight is less than 3lbs. This Zenbook will help with my productivity in my small business. Highly recommend.

Sleek lightweight bright average speed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This asus laptop is very sleek and lightweight making it convenient for mobile use and transporting. As advertised it displays colors more vibrantly and has sharper image quality than many other similar laptops. The speed and processing power works well for day to day applications like word processing and video streaming but falls short when doing creative work like video editing, design, or playing games with low to mid level graphics. One issue with the slim design are all the ports are very snug. I had particular issues with the usb-c port that I was afraid would wear out over time trying to get the plug(s) in and out repeatedly. I did contact customer service and they told me 5is is not typical and was sent a replacement. They were very responsive. I had other issues with some ports like the 3mm jack and connecting headphones that were corrected with the replacement. So it seems the first one had port issues that are not typical. The camera quality is higher than I am used to for a laptop and has a physical slide to turn it on and off. It will also turn off automatically if the environment light is too low. Useful function but annoying if it cuts off without notice The laptop came with only the usb-c charging block and laptop also with quick start instructions. The setup was easy and typical windows which takes around 5-1 minutes initially but allow extra for the windows update that always follows.

Good but slow with demanding programs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like it. The Zenbook is a little slow with more demanding engineering applications and constantly has the fan on, but the general performance is good.
