This review is for the ASUS Zenbook 14, featuring a 14" FHD+ OLED touch screen, Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, 32GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD. Right out of the box, I liked the color (Jasper Gray) and finish — and that’s about where the sexiness stops. The lines of the laptop are a bit blockish. Not the smooth, tapered, pencil-thin design that so many late model laptops have. Maybe that’s not a bad thing. It certainly makes it easy to grasp and lift. While we’re mentioning ‘lift,’ know that this Zenbook 14 comes in at about 3 oz shy of 3 pounds. I do like the rubber feet which act to raise the laptop above a flat surface for proper ventilation. Their design also makes the unit easy to grab and go. Hooking up peripherals and accessories should be a breeze since the Zenbook has connection ports consisting of one USB-A, two USB-C Thunderbolt ports, HDMI, and one good ol’ round headphone/external speakers jack. Gotta love it. When open, it’s hard not to be impressed by the OLED touch screen. You can’t really get blacker blacks than an OLED. Awesome display. I find that the keyboard suits me just fine. I like the responsiveness of the keys. When I feel like resorting to my tablet skills, the touch screen performed just fine. (Why is it that some laptops with touch screens don’t open past 180 degrees…like 360, so you can actually hold and use it like a tablet? Oh, well. I guess that’s beyond my pay grade.) The keyboard also has the MS Co-Pilot key. I’ve got to learn more about that and how to use it. I guess it leads you into the world of AI…? The specs of this model Zenbook 14 are impressive. With 32 gigs of RAM and Intel’s Core Ultra 9 processor, I don’t think I’ll ever got bogged down working on different projects at the same time…while streaming some music…while watching a movie…while making homemade pasta… You get the picture. The one thing I might question is why would ASUS load this machine up with this much RAM and the Core Ultra 9 processor without also adding a beefier graphics card (this uses Intel ARC)? The ONLY reason I bring this up is because Best Buy lists this as ‘entry level graphics’ in the product description. Note: I am not a gamer — but there was absolutely nothing deficient regarding graphics as I streamed an action movie (The Beekeeper) and beautiful YT 4K display clips — no jittering, no ghosting, no delays whatsoever. Did I mention how awesome the OLED display is? I searched for more info on the ARC graphics and it seems to be just fine for gamers. There you have it. This Zenbook 14 is a workhorse. It will not disappoint.

First impression: My first impression of the Asus Zenbook 14 laptop is that it is a lightweight, well-made laptop. The keyboard offers good response without any bounce. And the large keys make it much easier to type at a decent speed for 2-finger typists like me. The hinges are smooth and do a good job holding the lid at any position. It’s attractive, and the minimalist logo on the top looks real nice. And finally, this laptop is MIL-STD 810H certified in vibration, shock, high temperature, low temperature, and altitude. The bootup time from power off to desktop is 13.98 seconds. I did benchmark it, and the final score was 8898. That’s pretty good for an ultra-portable, non-gaming laptop. The i9 Ultra CPU makes for a very responsive laptop. Apps open quickly and with 10 apps open at the same time, it doesn’t slow down the performance of the laptop. At one point, I had 10 apps open, including Adobe Creative Cloud. I opened Apple Music and started listening to music. Finally, I opened AutoCAD, and it opened and performed as good as if it was the only app open. Looking at the performance monitor, the resources were taxed pretty hard, but as an end user, I did not feel the effects. For the gaming test, I ran the DRL drone simulator via Steam. The streaming didn’t have any issues at all. The flying was smooth and no matter how much I pushed the drone, doing flips, loops, and high speed, rapid turns and direction changes, I could not cause the laptop to show any signs of stress. Next, I streamed 4K movies from Netflix. While the 14” screen is not optimal for watching movies, the display was clean with vibrant colors. And while that was impressive, the audio is what stole the show. For audio, Asus simply states it has Smart Amp technology with built-in speakers. This screams low volume with a tinny sound, especially from an ultra-portable laptop. But the audio is amazing. It is loud compared to all my other laptops. It is clear with full sound without sounding harsh or empty. The bass sound is there but doesn’t have any oomph behind it. But it is there, and that’s also surprising. My other ultra-portable has zero bass. This is my favorite part of this laptop, amazing audio from a small case. Conclusion: The Asus Zenbook 14 (UX3405CA) ultra-portable laptop is an amazing laptop stuffed into a lightweight, small body. The graphics are really good, the touch screen is smooth and accurate, the performance is outstanding, and the audio is amazing. As an IT engineer, almost all my work is in the cloud. This is such a lightweight and easy laptop to use, it is now my regular carry laptop for both work and home. If you are looking for a good ultra-portable laptop with features rivaling bigger, more expensive laptops, then I highly recommend the Asus Zenbook 14 (UX3405CA).

I bought this computer and was really REALLY excited about it. I have owned ASUS computers in the past and my experience had been positive so far. However, everything got ruined with this one. I had an issue with it and Best Buy’s computer service didn’t help AT ALL. ASUS didn’t help either so I had to return it. I wanted to exchange it but they told me that was not an option. I suggested sending this one back and repurchasing a new one at the same price I had bought the first one and they didn’t allow to do that either!!! Very very upset with the service provided and how they treat customers.

Got this laptop as open box and it did not include a charger and it would not load into the OS even after trying to reset it through the BIOS. It would ALMOST finish the install and blue screen over and over again. Code showed that the memory was bad. Since it was soldered to the board it made doing repairs myself impossible. Had to return.

Some of the positive reviews for this laptop do not feel genuine — they read like AI‑generated promotions to boost sales. My own experience was the opposite. I shared my negative experience on Reddit, and Best Buy permanently blocked my account instead of addressing the issue. Best Buy has no real capability to support customers. Geek Squad operates separately like a sister company, and while they promise timely support, in reality the process drags on for more than 14 days, making the product non‑refundable. I do not trust Best Buy. I do not recommend buying this laptop. It is very expensive, and many other verified customers have also complained about similar problems. If you face any technical or quality issues, you will lose both money and time. The laptop has serious overheating problems, and Best Buy does not honor their return policy. Do not trust their promises.First, test it in a store If you want to buy this laptop or another electronics.

This is my review of the ASUS Zenbook 14 with the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, 32GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, with a 1920x1200 FHD+ OLED touch screen display. I have been a fan and owner of ASUS laptops for a few years now, owning the F15 gaming laptop and a ProArt PX13, so I had high expectations for their newest Zenbook offering, and was not disappointed. The Zenbook has quickly become my “Daily Driver” due to it’s great performance across many different tasks, the crispness and responsiveness of the screen, especially during game play and high definition video content viewing, and the speed it performs complex AI tasks. Initial setup was a breeze: it connected to my 5ghz WiFi network with no issues, performed the Windows 11 updates, and in no time I was up and running. I love having the Windows Hello feature of using the webcam to recognize me and log me in, it’s practically instantaneous! I also installed Microsoft Office 2021 Professional and the performance within this suite of applications couldn’t be any better; I have Word and Excel pinned to the taskbar and clicking on the icons launches them instantly. The OLED touchscreen display is definitely the highlight of this laptop. I viewed some African safari 4k videos off of the main streaming service and I was absolutely blown away at the vividness of the colors. The refresh rate combined with the resolution really made high speed scenes, such as cheetahs chasing down prey, feel like you’re actually there! Combine the amazing video capabilities with the Dolby Atmos sound, especially at high volume, and this becomes a legitimate preferred platform for streaming services. I have only recently started experimenting with AI functionality and used the new Zenbook to expand my experience with this technology. Using Microsoft CoPilot, I asked it to create a storyboard of a man wearing shorts and an AC/DC t-shirt walking in downtown Nashville with a dachshund (I was just in downtown Nashville last week for the concert and witnessed this exact thing, so I was curious what it would come up with). Generating the series of watercolor style images from just my imagination took only a few short seconds, and the results were accurate. I was impressed! I have attached what it came up with here in this review. Sadly, CoPilot won’t allow me personally to be included in a video or storyboard, it that an ethical thing? Not sure, but it was my best guess. So even though I couldn’t generate a video of myself in “made up, fake” situations, it was still full to push CoPilot to attempt more and more difficult tasks, which pushed both the hardware as well as my imagination. I plan on continuing to explore what’s all possible with AI as it is quite fun so far, and I can imagine that with building up more skill, it only becomes that much more. I want to hit gaming here because, while it just has the Intel Arc integrated graphics, they did everything I asked and then some. Youtube and other streaming is a major use for my laptops, and I had every reason to believe that with so many of the features being top echelon, it would at least hold its own for the few games that I play, my primary being Trackmania on Steam. And while, OK, it does take a little longer to load compared to the TUF Gaming F15 which was built from the ground up as a gaming laptop, honestly once you start playing, it’s hard to tell them apart. Of course, there are much more intense games out there you could test with, but this is the one I know, and it happens to be one that wouldn’t load at all on my older Dell, so I feel it’s a fair test. Also related to being a “daily driver” PC are the ergonomics of the device, and here is where I feel they totally nailed it for a number of reasons: 1) The weight and balance is superb. At 2.8lbs, it’s a feather. You could hold it in one hand and type with the other if you wanted. There is zero fatigue having this on your lap. It doesn’t seem to heat up. Ever! The keys are backlit and you can set the level wherever you wish, including off. The key sizes are perfect for even larger fingers. The touchpad is extra large to allow for some custom features such as adjusting the screen brightness by swiping up and down the far right portion of the pad, or adjusting the volume by swiping up and down the far left portion of the pad. So for these commonly used features, you can use F5/F6 and F2/F3 if that’s your thing, or do it from the pad. 2) The 32GB of RAM really makes itself known and useful when you have several things going on at once; a report or other school work going on in a window or 2; videos in another window for entertainment; Social Media sites in the background while hoping for Likes, all while building a shopping list in another app as you’re on the way out the door. The Zenbook can handle whatever apps you throw at it and deep them running fast and smooth. 3) Even the keys are worth mentioning; The keys are backlit to whatever level, if any, that you like. The size of most of the keys is 5/8 x 5/8 of and inch, with a short, crisp, responsive travel with great feedback. 4) Battery life is out of this world. For the amount of performance you are getting in this little package, at this weight, a person wouldn’t normally think battery life would be in the “extreme” area, but it is! I have had this laptop on my kichen table all week , hasn’t been plugged in since last Sunday, 8 days ago. I have used it extensively some days to get performance data and screen shot, and let it just sit on the table for 2 days while I went out of town. Fired right back up immediately even after being left alone for those days, and is continuing to work now, as I finalize this review, and it’s STILL showing 30%! Another big plus on the battery front, it charges via a standard 65 watt USB-C power supply, way better than an expensive, hard to get proprietary cord you need to source if the original gets cut or stolen. In conclusion, the Zenbook is truly well named, I feel a sense of Zen when I use it. I am calm because it’s almost weightless, and it has all the answer I need, like my own personal guru. I will include a few pictures to demonstrate some of the fun I’ve had with this laptop. I give this laptop my full, unconditional endorsement. If you’re looking for a computer that’s light and powerful with amazing graphic and sound capabilities, this is what you want.

after less than two weeks of use, the device began to malfunction., the blue screen appeared, The inteligent gestures is not working and when it turn on, a blue screen , and the restart the computer

Excellent on paper. Everything works fine until you try to use it for slightly demanding tasks, such as editing a photo in Lightroom. My $500 Chinese laptop with a basic CPU performed better in that regard.

I was excited to get my hands on this laptop. The specifications make it a powerhouse, but it doesn't stop there. This is very fast and powerful, and it has quickly become my favorite laptop. This is an amazingly light and compact laptop. I used it a considerable amount on my vacation, and the battery life is outstanding. Despite its compact size, the keyboard and touch pad are very comfortable and responsive. The backlit keyboard is easy to use in the dark and the display is beautiful. The powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU is an incredibly powerful processor. Boot up time is very fast, as are system updates. The 32 GB of RAM makes the laptop suitable for anything a person would ever need to use for home or business. Applications such as Microsoft Office fire up almost instantaneously. Another feature that isn't quite so obvious, is the ability to connect to 6GHz networks. The Wi-Fi is able to utilize faster bandwidths. Finally, the display and graphics are outstanding. I was very pleased at the appearance of the web browser and other common applications. I stream television channels, and the graphics are vibrant. The video response is also very fast.

Disappointing battery life. Only 8 hours. Not even close to 18 stated.

I’ve been using this laptop for a few weeks now, and honestly, it’s been nothing short of impressive. The performance is smooth and reliable, the Intel Core Ultra 9 paired with 32GB of RAM handles basically everything. Whether I’m working or just relaxing with some light gaming, it doesn’t slow down. The OLED touchscreen is great. The colors are sharp, vibrant, and make watching videos or browsing so much more enjoyable. The laptop is lightweight too. Another big plus is that even though it’s not a gaming laptop, it still runs games really well. That was a nice surprise for me since I like to take breaks with gaming. It's quite too even when playing midsized games Overall, this is a very good laptop for the price.

Returned because the battery life was underwhelming and the hinge started creaking after a week of usage.

I received the wrong product, it wasn’t even close to what i ordered and it had a different name on it, but had my mailing address with my name on the top of the package.

I would not even give 1 star. Worst customer service ever. DO NOT purchase ASUS products. I sent my laptop to Asus for minor repair and they damaged my laptop. Made it unusable and after patiently following their procedures for 1 month to get a replacement they sent an incorrect replacement. Now they expect me to pay for shipping and send back the laptop and start over the entire process. Agents are rude and not helpful at all.

Stay away from Asus products . Purchased less then 3 months ago and bottom piece broke off and now the screen moves and it cracked and they won’t fix it . Stay away from this product
