Been using for last 3 weeks, it’s okay! Runs smooth, processor is holding good so far. Except, the chassis build quality, it’s aluminum, but not very sturdy. Keyboard light could have been better as well. Overall it’s a good laptop at this price point, but not great.

Well built and light weight. Screen is nice and clear. Only down graded from 5 star because the illuminated keyboard is terrible. Not bright enough to see the letter. … might as well not have the feature. Shame, as the actual keyboard/keys are very nice and precise to use

Lightweight and fast, excellent battery life perfect size

I feel like crying tears of rage. There is a product defect that comes with this laptop. The glue that holds together the plastic laptop bezel and the screen will fail. The screen and the hinges will eventually start to break away. Search for "glue" or "screen" under this product in the Best Buy reviews, and you'll see other cases of this. I spoke to an Asus representative and he suggested that I send in the laptop to them for repairs. However, if they detect "physical damage," the laptop won't be covered by the warranty. No one has physically damaged the laptop. I am getting a sinking feeling that they will point the finger at me under some sweeping "physical damage" definition, and then they'll propose a hefty repair charge. If that happens, it is borderline fraud and a disgusting business practice. I am deciding to take my chances, and I'm sending it in, so right now, this situation is already costing me $43 bucks JUST TO SEND IT IN. Spare yourself the trouble. Don't buy this product.

Upgraded from the previous model with the 4500u and MX350. Like the last model, it is a really good build and specs for the money. Compared to the previous model, it has one less USB-A port, one more USB-C, charges with USB-C, but otherwise is physically very similar. Although it does weigh about 2.9lbs vs previously 2.6ish. Performance-wise, sadly the 5500u is still a zen3. It seems to perform essentially like a hyperthreading 4500u. Single core is very similar and multicore is around 20%+ performance from my geekbench test. MX450 compute benchmarks about double the MX350 of the previous model though. Overall very satisfied. Really the only negative I can find is the slightly heavier build but it's barely noticeable. Also for some reason the description on bestbuy forgets to mention it's got windows hello with the camera built in. Great great buy for anyone not needing anything ridiculously powerful, or a convertible. It feels like a $1000+ notebook for sure.

I was nervous when I first saw it in the store but am so glad I took the chance on it. I have used this to store files large files, music, and make videos and it has never let me down. I am very happy with this purchase, if you are a moderate to medium-heavy user this is your laptop.

This was the easiest purchase. I was looking for a laptop because our other computer was having issues. My sales guy was great and knew exactly what I needed. I didn't want anything fancy but needed to run Quick Books while out of town. This computer is light, sleek, and perfect for my needs. It was a quick and painless experience.
