Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the Zenbook 14" Laptop for its great value, lightweight design, long battery life, comfortable keyboard, and reliable performance. It is suitable for general productivity, light gaming, and college courses. On the downside, some users have concerns about the limited RAM upgradability, occasional heating issues, limited number of USB ports, small storage capacity, and fan noise.

This is my fourth Asus product. I've owned an n80, Ep121, and the 10 lb GS74sx. All machines still run to this day! I wanted something ultraportable that was not only inexpensive but had a decent graphics card. This machine goes on sale at times for under 500 bucks. I already had a gaming laptop with a 2080 but refuse to carry that around and risk having it stolen. Id still be upset if this gets stolen but not as much. I use this for game mod development on the go and schoolwork. This will run a heavily modded Fallout New Vegas. You'll want to keep the computer on a hard surface, maybe on a cooling pad or lapdesk. The computer will get very hot, you'll notice the keys are very warm. I also run Blender and Adobe programs. They seem to run fine but remember, it's not going to run as well as a 3080 on a computer you keep at home. I've installed a 1tb 4th gen m2 and cloned the HD to it. The 8 gig memory being soldered is really the only con. If I need extra power I move to the laptop I keep at home. Ha!

This is a perfect fit for anyone who wants a laptop with something better than the laptops that are only with integrated graphics, this has the MX450, while yes it is low powered, it has its own vram (only 2gb) and proper driver support. I also found the USB-C charging ability to be quite useful, any proper 65w+ charger will do, if you have one of those special power banks that give 65-100w of power, it can charge off of that as if plugged in! A real shame the ram is limited to 8GB (soldered on), SSD is upgradeable though!

This laptop is great for its price point. It’s very thin & lightweight which is ideal for a student, and it offers a great amount of power and battery life. The Ryzen 5 can handle pretty much everything that’s thrown at in, even some light gaming.

This machine for the price I pay was an amazin value $540 on a rebate, the screen is not brigth but have good colors but only 250 nits, the keyboard have a good tactile feel but the backligth is mediocre at best, the touchpad is good and the perfomance for the price is top notch, I have a XPS15 from two year ago and have the same power, but the XPS is value at 2,400 so its really amazing. the battery is good and the design is something that I like a lot is a robust machine, not as the XPS but i have a lot of sense of quality for a sub 600 dlls product, all the competition is on plastic.

Decent quality materials and definitely doesn't feel cheap. The hinge is smooth and I love how when opening the laptop it elevates the keyboard at a slight angle both making it more comfortable and ergonomic. Webcam quality is okay, not great but good enough for applications such as zoom. Battery life is awesome. Also, the Ryzen 5 CPU is the icing on the cake as I am an engineering student and so far I've been able to run every single heavy application with NO problem. I got this on sale and at that price point, I believe to have gotten the best bang for your buck laptop ever! There are only two things I would wish for. 1. for the screen to be a little brighter, it's not bad at all but in sunny conditions, it can be a little dim. 2. for the keyboard to be a different color as with the gray color it is hard to read the letters in some conditions. This doesn't really affect me though as I am an above average typer.

I've had it since Jan 2022 when I bought it for college. No issues and hasn't slowed down a bit. Only complaint is that the fan is pretty loud at times. Not sold anymore but the quality is nice and I'm sure the new version is just as good.

This Ryzen based Zenbook is certainly something, value packed, handles everything in a casual use case - and some light gaming. Really impressed with the screen, although if you prefer brightness cranked all the way up it won't blow you away but is definitely crisp and vibrant. Sound is phenomenal, keyboard has a great feel to it, although I'm not a fan of the layout. Fan is quiet, you can adjust it to 'whisper' but there is still always persistent whirl, really dislike the ASUS software included. I'd recommend this to students or casual users. Arguably, the M1 Macbook is a better buy if you don't mind saying farewell to Windows.

It really was worth the price when it was on sale. Nice and compact and pretty good battery life, essentially all the I needed from it. Performed great on my day to day bases, noticed the it does get warm when charging but can't really think of anything else wrong.

Great laptop, excellent cpu, light and slim. Decent performing dedicated GPU, but the integrated GPU is about 60% of the performance of the dedicated and makes you wonder why it was designed this way. THe MX450 included in this laptop is the hamstrung version, and not the full wattage version, which is roughly equivalent to a gtx1650. The one in this laptop is has the power of a gpu between a gtx 1030 - gtx 1050. I'd call it a gtx 1040, but that card doesn't exist. You'll get a 5% performance gain by repasting, but, unfortunately, the ram is soldered in dual channel, 4gbx4gb and upgrading is impossible, unless you have god-given soldering skills, like ones that have never been seen on this planet.. Be aware, that while taking apart new laptops the day you get them, every time you purchase one, whether its $500 or $2500, is extremely fun, there are those that frown upon this type of activity, and consider it to be an act of "voiding" one's warranty, to which, legally, it is not, and be proven to be not, as its under the "right to repair" clause. But please, don't take my advice an open it, and make the thermal solution perform better, increasing the longevity of nearly every component in the laptop, just stick with the manufacturer's thermal solution and CPU/GPU throttle the rest of you days away:) I, seriously, don't condone opening new laptops as there is potential to inadvertently mess things up, and if so, the warranty would be voided.

AMD has really stepped it up this generation. Making laptops more affordable and faster than intel, lower power consumption which equals longer battery life. Asus as usual has excellent build quality and this laptop is no diffrent.

Upon opening the laptop, i was very pleased with the build of the laptop and especially the keyboard (coming from macbook pro butterfly switch), However upon first use the right fan seemed to make a slight clicking noise, and spun up to max even upon boot up. I was confused maybe i got a defective unit
