Customers appreciate the Zenbook 14" Laptop for its great value, lightweight design, long battery life, comfortable keyboard, and reliable performance. It is suitable for general productivity, light gaming, and college courses. On the downside, some users have concerns about the limited RAM upgradability, occasional heating issues, limited number of USB ports, small storage capacity, and fan noise.

Great laptop. Very efficient. Performs well and you can have SEVERAL windows open at once, which is what I needed for work. I trust this brand and I’m so glad I chose this laptop with the help of a knowledgeable sales associate.

One of the best laptops I've ever used! Great performance, nice screen, the keyboard is backlit and satisfying to type on, and it has all the bells and whistles you would want in a new laptop.

Like the size and speed of this little machine. I always used Intel powered devices, but trying this new processor from AMD does not disappoint at all.

Phenomenal for the price. I needed to replace a broken 1-year old Microsoft Surface Laptop and did not want to spend another grand+. For half the price of what I spent, I am immediately liking this better. Technically lower specs on paper than the one I am replacing, but in actual use it is nicer right off the bat. Compact, lightweight, good keyboard, and the matte screen is SO much better on the eyes than those glossy screens. I tried the Windows connect to wireless display to stream cycling to my TV and it worked perfectly the first time, something I never could get my Surface Laptop to do correctly.

Ryzen and Nvidia in a Small Powerful Package

The ASUS Zenbook14 is a strong performer at an excellent price. The deal is even sweeter when on sale (when I purchased the device). Although it utilizes Zen 2 AMD cores (5500U is Zen 2, 5600U is Zen 3… confusing I know) it still operates quickly and efficiently. Coupled with Nvidia’s new MX450, you can be sure this device can work and play (lighter games)! Contrary to ASUS’ website, this model ships with the 2GB GDDR6 12W MX450 (instead of GDDR5). In the high performance mode, it allows the GPU to boost, granting good performance in a small package. Yet, with great power, comes great heat OR noise. Luckily, the heat is managed quite well with this device. Even during intensive workloads, the CPU rarely goes above 80c, with the MX450 rarely going above 75c. But with these great temps comes noise. In the high performance state, this ultrabook is quite loud as the fans spool to cool the components. Understandable. It should be noted that this device is more docile when in battery or balanced mode, but you can always hear the fan whirring slowly. Doesn’t bother me, but may be a deciding factor for others. The RAM limitation at 8GB and being soldered is a valid concern for many users, but in my experience, it’s a “perfectly balanced” system as all devices should be. It’s not meant to render, so low RAM is okay, it’s not meant for heavy gaming, so low RAM is okay. You’ll be fine with light games and web browsing where this device really excels. The display is a good FHD IPS panel but its not terribly bright. Also does not support wide color gamut (DCI P3) Definitely for use indoors or in shade. At the top of the display is an average webcam, but also a great addition, Windows Hello, for facial recognition/login. Trackpad is large and accurate, with Windows Precision drivers and gestures. Does not support numberpad mode. Speakers are above average for a device of this cost and size, but worse than ultra premium ultrabooks. ZB14 < XPS13 < MBA13. Very usable, but won’t blow you away. At the end of the day, it’s not a MacBook Air, nor is it a Dell XPS. But it sure as heck beats the value of its competitors at this price (and especially so when on sale)!

For the price, a really nice laptop. Already upgraded to Windows 11 using the Windows Insider Beta program. Runs fast! Display is very high quality. It's not a touch screen, but I didn't need a touch screen. If that's important to you, then look at something else. Ram is not upgradeable, but 8GB runs this laptop just fine, especially when paired with the Ryzen 5 5500U processor! It is nice that you can upgrade the SSD, and I will most likely spend $150 to upgrade the SSD to a 1TB model in the next t couple of months. Other than that, I'm extremely satisfied with this model, and the price was great as well :)

    Good for a Windows laptop

It is a good laptop. For a Windows machine. Great specs, solid build, and a respectable brand. It can run Gears 5 comfortably without much heating, let alone all regular activities like working with documents, browsing, and even graphic design. And the price is right, a little bit over $700. It is not easy to find such a good not gaming laptop with a dedicated graphic card and such a nice build (very small amount of plastic). But what I didn't like is the keyboard, not even close to Lenovo, let alone MacBook. I was able to purchase a MacBook Air M1 for $849, and that decided the fate of this Asus. Air is better in every single way (most critical - screen, keyboard, battery life, build) and just for $130 more. I think, for Windows laptops manufacturers it is really hard to compete in the consumer segment (the corporate segment is a different story) with Apple. In the non-gaming desktop segment, the Mac Mini is the best money can buy right now when it is often on sale for $599 or even cheaper, you won't find anything of the same quality and performance on the PC side within the same price range. And when MacBook Air is on sale (also often) it is hard to recommend Windows ultrabooks that are noisier, hotter, have noticeably shorter battery life, and slower overall, plus in 99% of cases have worse build quality. Again, in the same price range. Yes, you can find nicer PC ultrabooks comparable with Air but in the much higher price range, $1300+. I did a lot of research and tried many options and still think if one doesn't need specifically Windows for her workflow then Macs (either Mini or Air) are the best options for the money asked. Again, I want to stress it, corporate and gaming segments are out of this equation.
