    Got it for a good deal but unfortunately the battery life was not enough for me. It also got pretty hot even when just browsing. The screen was also had a high glare.

    Ended up returning this. Great hardware, but there were so many software glitches I found in the first 8 hours I lost all confidence that it would be a good laptop over the long run. Asus software strikes again.

    Little too Late

    I just recently bought this brand new and the first time I tried to charge it, i realized the port on the inside of it is broken or something. At first I thought it was the cord but then realized its actually the laptop port for the charger so I have to fold the cord under and move it a certain way so that the light comes on. It has to be just right so the light stays on. Since Im using it for when I start school in January I hadn't really messed with it. I'm not a computer person so It just sat in my room in a safe place. Kinda bummed that I have such bad luck. I honestly can't tell you what the capabilities are or how it works because its really hard for me to navigate but thats bc Im computer illiterate. It could be awesome but idk? I do love the screen and its fun and easy to play my online slots, but so far thats all I use it for. Also Im a huge google user and this has everything Microsoft, I think in the future I may go with a MacBook Pro. I also like facial recognition, I should add that.

    I don't know what's happened to the computer makers the last several years, but the last two computers I've purchased, this being one of them (the other is a different brand), have been severely lacking in quality. This one, the left speaker became "crackly" just a little over a month after I purchased it and then went out completely a few days later. Now, the right speaker's started doing the same so I'm sure it's just a matter of time before it's completely gone as well. I've owned this computer for just shy of 2 months. Sure . . . it's still under warranty and I could send it in for repair, but I cannot be without a computer for however long it would take to get it back because I require a computer for work (self-employed). I'm extremely careful with my computers, rarely take them out of my home, and treat them gently. The last computer I had, the hinge broke after about 6 months, and now this issue with this one in less than 2. I just want a laptop that will last 2-3 years, but I guess that's too much to ask for nowadays. The one I had before these last two lasted 5 years, unfortunately they no longer make laptops (just desk tops).

    Motherboard failed after 1.5 yrs

    I was incredibly happy with almost all aspects of this laptop until it randomly refused to turn on or charge after only 1.5 years. Turns out the motherboard just failed - both Geek Squad and Micro Center had no idea why. The repairs would cost way over the original price of the laptop. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated, this laptop was perfect for me in every other regard.

      We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused. ASUS is an ISO certified company, as a result, all products go into a strict quality manufacturing standard. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections that ensure each one is trouble-free, and are built to last. The motherboard broken after only 1.5 years is a random problem. If the laptop will not boot up or it's just black screen but the fan, please do the following. Please try to do a power cycle
      by pressing and holding down the power button to shut it down completely, then power on. If it powers on but still a black screen after a few minutes, at least 10 minutes, please repeat the power cycle process again. If the laptop is applying updates in the System Registry, it will black screen temporarily until the update is applied successfully. Additionally, please try to disconnect the power cable and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory. This will reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this,
      please reconnect your AC adapter, do not power on the laptop until the battery is charged.

    Disposable laptop. Fake warranty.

    Used this computer for 6 months. One day in the middle of use it stopped working. No lights, no charge, nothing. I take it to Best Buy for them to send it to ASUS for warranty repair. I was well within the 1 year warranty. A couple weeks later I get notified from ASUS that I would need to pay $975 to repair my laptop. It’s odd because I only paid $750 for it brand new 6 months prior. ASUS PRODUCTS ARE DISPOSABLE. If you have any sort of issue with an ASUS product, you should kiss it goodbye because they will want to charge you for every repair in the book on a defective product that is supposedly under warranty.

    Screen resolution is quite good. Main concern are microphone’s volume is too low and laptop processor isn’t work that much good though it has i7 processor.

    Bought this computer for my daughter for school. After 2 and a half months of use, the internal speakers on the laptop died. shortly after that, the laptop no longer powered on..extremely disappointed in the quality of this laptop. It could be that I just received a defective one, but if not, this is a huge letdown.

    Buyer Beware. READ before buying.

    Buyer beware. I just purchased the laptop (on sale) a few days ago. I tried to purchase an accidental extended warranty plan from the manufacturer, ASUS, since they are 1/2 the price of Best Buy's accidental warranty plans, but was not able to do so on this model. Asus said, basically, Best Buy has The Geek Squad plans and if you want additional warranty coverage, it must be with a Best Buy plan". Did I mention Best Buy's plans are double the price for the same coverage? I may return mine because of this situation. If Best Buy/ ASUS are restricting your extra warranty plans to double the price Best Buy plans only, the computer should have Best Buy brand name on it, and not ASUS brand name on it. NO where does it say this is a Best Buy brand. " This product was purchased from an authorized reseller that offers its own selection of trusted, premium warranty coverage. Please contact your authorized reseller for more information regarding additional coverage."

    CANNOT INSTALL >1TB SSD

    There is no info about this anywhere online, but you cannot install a 2tb or any ssd over 1tb in this or the Q410V (8gb ram, i5). Otherwise the laptop is fine, but the fact that I had to find that out from tech support after hours of attempts and troubleshooting really annoys me

    I have had this computer now for just about a week and have used it as my daily driver for the entirety of the week - both home and business. Coming from a four-month-old high end 14-inch Ultrabook from a competitor that cost $500 more than this machine, I was not expecting too very much. Unbelievably, this machine kept pace with my other laptop beautifully. The new aluminum chassis is elegant and is what allows for the weight to be kept to a very low 3.5 pounds. The color, in my opinion, is very nice and has a modern etching on the front. The screen is simply superb as an OLED should be and gets as bright as you would need it to be. I have used this outside in the sun as well and had the screen to about 85% max in order to see properly. The colors on this OLED simply pop. The backlit keyboard functions well and the white letters on black keyboard is always my preference for easy viewing. This machine has all the necessary ports that one could want - two thunderbolt USB-C, one USB A, and HDMI - hard to find a laptop with all these in a compact form factor such as this Asus. The sound on this Asus is acceptable and on par with other Ultrabooks I have owned. Setting up this machine was typical of every new product - updates upon updates that take about 30 minutes. Once this was complete and I uninstalled all the ridiculous bloatware that all machines come with, this machine boots up as fast as any laptop I have owned. There are only two "negatives" I can come up with regarding this Asus. First is the case is sa bit of a fingerprint collector. Nothing a microfiber cloth can't take care of. Second, there is no USB port on the left side of the laptop - my preference is to have one on each side. All in all, you cannot be disappointed in this machine for it's price point. I highly recommend this Asus! I like it so much, I gave my 4 month old competitor Ultrabook to my daughter.

    Motherboard crashed 3 months in

    This was a great computer, but today it crashed and I only got about 3 months use out of the laptop. It looks like the motherboard crashed. It is under warranty so I will be sending it back in to hopefully be repaired.

    Everyday laptop with amazing display & great value

    The Asus Zenbook 14X is a perfect laptop for regular users for almost all situations. The build is good, the specifications are excellent, the display is amazing (in most cases), it’s very portable, and overall it looks quite good. The Asus Zenbook line has been producing some really good laptops for everyday use in the midrange-upper midrange market for the last couple of days. Aside from the typical upgrades of the internals (CPU, RAM etc.), this latest model caught my eyes for its stunning 2.8K 16:10 14.5” OLED display. I know how an OLED display can open a new window of experience due to its vividness and contrast, but this is my first experience in such a small form factor as in a laptop display. And Asus has nailed it on the 14X. The panel, which I think is sourced from Samsung, is gorgeous, and Asus has done a great job in tuning it. They claim its Pantone validated, and have a max refresh rate of 120 Hz which makes it a really good display for doing video/photo editing and related media creation activities. In addition, it is a touch panel,has 550 nits of peak brightness, and quite fast. All this comes alive when HDR contents are being displayed. However, there’s no Dolby Vision, only HDR 10 which may be something to look out for. Another issue I have found is the glossy display. There was a time when that was the standard, but with the advent of modern matte displays that are also vivid and color accurate, I have been spoiled. Maybe because my main goto laptops all have matte displays, the high-level of reflection caught my eyes immediately when I took the laptop out to work outdoors. So, that’s another caveat to watch out for, especially if you plan on using it in sunny conditions. Also, just like other OLED display, there are some housekeeping functions that needs to be done to take care of it, but Asus already provides tools for that (more on that later). As for specs, Asus packed an Intel 13th gen H-series mobile Core i7 CPU that has 12-cores (with 6 P-cores and 8 E-cores) that has 20 threads via HyperThreading. With 45W of TDP, the cores can spool-up to a 5GHz clock frequency, and the on-board 16 GB LPDDR5 makes sure the system can crunch through typical workloads without much issue, with room to spare. The RAM is unfortunately soldered on the mainboard and thus not upgradeable. However, at this time, anything greater than 8GB should be good enough for the next few years. The 512 GB NVME SSD (PCIe4.0) is, on the other hand, user upgradeable, so that’s a nice flexibility to have. From a graphics perspective, this laptop has not chance against a typical dedicated GPU-powered system, as the integrated Intel Xe is capable of handling only regular tasks without causing a hiccup. I definitely won’t be gaming on this system (unless it’s cloud gaming). In terms of connectivity, it’s typical Asus - there’s a single regular USB-A (3.2) port on one side, with 2 Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a full-size HDMI 2.1 port, and the 3.5mm combo audio jack on the other side. For everyday use this is adequate, and only occasionally i had to bust out my USB-C dongle. There’s no SD/MicroSD card slot, and no Ethernet port, which is quite common for this “thin and light” laptop segment. The port placement is not my best choice - all the ports seem to be too forward, and especially the right-side was quite congested. Also, even though both Thunderbolt 4 ports are charge capable, having both of them on the same side (and also next to each other) makes charging a little less versatile. Depending on my charger placement I sometimes had to do some route management once in a while. Good thing is I was able to use almost any 35W+ charger to top-up the laptop, however I constantly got a “low power adapter” warning even though I was using a (non-Asus) 100 W USB-C charger). The chiclet/island-style keyboard has a 1.4mm key travel (according to Asus), and felt “typical”. It had good feedback and the key separation felt good to me. The backlight is nice as well. It’s nothing exceptional, but does the job well. The touchpad is very well sized and responsive, but the real party-piece is the “virtual” numberpad that can be enabled to be overlaid on the touchpad. Some people may find it a bit gimmicky, but I have been using it quite a lot for my daily spreadsheet activities. It is indeed a very convenient feature to have. All in all, the Zenbook 14X is a well-rounded thin-and-light laptop that offers a stunning display without breaking the bank. It’s not the slimmest and lightest, and it’s not the most powerful, but it definitely sit’s in a very nice middle position for day-to-day activity related needs.

    A Great Laptop for Everyday Use and Entertainment

    I bought this laptop a months ago and I’m very satisfied with it. It has a 14.5-inch full HD display that is bright and sharp, and it supports touch input. The keyboard is comfortable and backlit, and the trackpad is responsive and smooth. The laptop is powered by an Intel Core i3 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of SSD storage, which make it fast and reliable for everyday tasks like browsing, streaming, and office work. It also has a decent battery life of around 6 hours, and it comes with Windows 11 Home and Microsoft 365 pre-installed.

    Im assuming there was a hardware defect/malfunction because I bought this new when it was $800. I charged it for 24 hours and still not even a battery light would turn on. I tried unplugging everything and doing a ‘hard reset’ by holding the power button down for 40 seconds (as recommended by ASUS and every other troubleshooter in YT) and still not avail. I’m really hoping that this is a dud because I was really excited about getting it. I’m so scared to buy it again and been contemplating it but I think I’m scared— I don’t wanna deal with another return.

    Definetely the best bang for your buck. Great for students who want a cheap but also extremely capable laptop. Pros: -great build quality, thin and light, and decent battery life (while not under heavy load). -everything else except for cons cons: -the touchscreen display has many gray dots which are kinda annoying on white backgrounds -no discrete graphics (on this model) which makes light gaming a struggle (solution is to spend more for rtx 3050 model but you lose the common $699 price tag after discounts) -soldered ram (16gb max)
