This is my second Asus Zenbook; my first one I received through the Tech Insider Network last year, and it is still just as good as it was the day I took it out of the box and started using it for work tasks, and I'm anticipating this one will be as my home computer, too!
Some upgrades from the previous Zenbook I used that are included on this current model include Face ID and a touchscreen - the only thing is, like the previous Zenbook, this one doesn't fold into tablet mode, which (to me) seems like it should go hand-in-hand with the touchscreen (though that is strictly personal preference).
This computer is light and thin, making it perfect for bringing in my backpack to and from work commuting on public transportation without having to lug a big or heavy laptop around. The keyboard is responsive and quiet, and the touchpad is centered on the device (also very much a personal preference!), making it easy to pull it out and quietly do work on the train.
The battery life is great - I was able to push it to several hours off the charger with the screen on full brightness while browsing the internet before needing to charge it. Checking the battery life with my current settings (full brightness, no battery saver on), the estimated length of charge is nearly 9 hours! Also great - it does not get super hot on the bottom like some other laptops do, so it's easy to sit with it in your lap to do what you need to do!
The screen is clear, bright, and graphics are sharp. I haven't tried any kind of gaming yet on this computer (most I play is the Sims, no hardcore gaming here!), but I have no doubt the graphics would be sharp and there would be no lag based on what I've seen from video replay, dabbling in design, and general every day use.

I must say…I'm really a fan of the 2023 Asus ZenBook. It's thin and sleek, and almost resembles a stealth jet with its color and design. The model in this review comes in nice Inkwell grey and balances aesthetic finesse with commendable sturdiness, a testament to Asus' innovation in design.
The ZenBook also features an impressive battery. I got 5 hours out of it before I needed to charge it again. With this laptop, you're untethered from power outlets, free to go about the workday with long-lasting battery life.
But the ZenBook is more than durability and longevity. Its screen clarity is amazing thanks to its OLED display. The colors it reproduces are truly impressive; vibrant and accurate. Black levels add even more contrast when using HDR. Especially when browsing webpages or working on graphically intense programs like Lightroom or Adobe Illustrator. However, I must note that I wasn't thrilled with the movie streaming while using the Microsoft "TV& Movies" app. The picture appeared too sharp despite my attempts to adjust display settings.
Another bright spot is the incredible keyboard. There is a satisfying gliding sensation when traveling between keys and trackpad, which features a controllable backlit number pad for computational inputs. The bottoms have a perfect stiffness that make typing silent and fast.
The power core of this laptop is the 13th generation, EVO i7 processor. Its performance is as smooth as it is speedy, handling a myriad of tasks without a stutter. I have tested this claim by using the multi view feature in Windows to look at emails, stream YouTube videos, and simultaneously play PC games on GamePass. This silent but robust performer makes productivity a breeze.
There is one hitch, however - the lack of a display port. If you're a fan of multi-monitor setups, it's a slight inconvenience. But even this doesn't overshadow the ZenBook's many strong points.
Overall, the Asus ZenBook is more than a laptop; it's a blend of innovative design, impressive battery life, stellar display, and robust performance. It's a spectacle in the realm of tech.

There’s a lot to like about this laptop and very little to complain about. The only qualification is to understand that it’s not intended to be a gaming computer. It is, however, an excellent production machine and can easily stream beautiful, high-rez videos with Dolby Atmos sound.
The build quality is very good, and it’s built to military specs. The solid-feeling, aluminum case is sleek and attractive, but the grey color does easily show fingerprints. At 3.5 lbs. it’s not a featherweight, but that weight is reasonable considering the power built in. The latest 12-core Intel I7-13700H processor is paired with 16 GB of fast DDR5 RAM and a wicked-fast M2 SSD drive. It's well-outfitted with ports. There’s a high-speed USB type A (hurray), two USB C / Thunderbolt ports, AV in/out, and a full-size HDMI port. Top this off with a gorgeous 14.5” 2400 x 1800 OLED screen that can run at 120 Hz, and you have a very capable computer. It’s also Intel EVO certified which means it has face recognition and resumes almost instantly from sleep mode. I found the face recognition to be quick and flawless in all kinds of lighting. The FHD camera is also a step above many competitors. Basically, it’s well-appointed with high-quality hardware.
There’s very little to complain about. There’s no SD card reader built-in, so carry an adapter if that’s a must. As mentioned, this Zenbook is not built to be a gamer. The Intel Iris Xe graphics will easily handle any production software and video streaming, but mid to high-end games will need to have the resolution and quality level backed down to get a decent frame rate. Also, the M2 SSD drive is only 512 GB. The good news is that you can change it out to a larger drive. The not-as-good news is that nothing else is upgradeable … all other components are soldered in place.
The bottom line is that this Zenbook is a great computer at a seemingly unbeatable price. It may well be the best bang for the buck in its class for production work as well as watching and streaming high-quality video.

Absolutely no support from Best Buy, they want to send the machine back to ASUS and charge me for shipping and repair and leave me without a machine for 2 to 3 weeks, this is unacceptable, so now I'm stuck with a laptop with a faulty speaker, this is a brand new machine.

Please try to do a power cycle by pressing and holding down the power button to shut it down completely. If it still black screen after a few minutes, at least 10 minutes, please repeat the power cycle process again. I've been enjoying this new laptop from Asus! It's got a great screen, the processor is fast and the shell is aluminum, meaning you don't have to worry as much throwing it in a bag or luggage. Makes me feel more comfortable traveling with it when my luggage gets banged around vs a plastic shell. The laptop is thin and lightweight overall, but you will notice that it's heavier than it's plastic brethren. Just something to be aware of if weight is a main factor in your decision.
Out of the box, the first thing I did was plug this in and not touch it for a few hours. Once the battery was full, I powered it up, I signed into Microsoft and let it run updates for a few hours. I did nothing on it until all of that was done and it was ready to go. I have had zero issues with the system or the setup process and I'm thankful to Asus for not installing a ton of bloatware on this machine! There's a couple things I easily deleted/uninstalled but that took a few seconds.
Sound is ok but it's a laptop and they aren't really known for amazing audio quality due to the small speakers. They're fine for watching a quick video but for movies you'll want headphones/earbuds. The screen is NOT a 360 flip so there is no tablet mode. I've had other laptops that do it and I almost never used the tablet feature if I'm being honest. Occassionally I'd put it in "tent" mode to watch a movie, but I don't miss the ability. The backlit keyboard turns off and it's more stable on a seatback tray table when flying in the normal open position.
Overall, this computer has been working great and does everything I need it to do. The touch area in the top right corner of the touchpad that lights up the touchpad and becomes a number keypad is a brilliant use of space! I've found myself using it quite a bit on spreadsheets. It takes a bit of getting used to but it's a smart addition. I would recommend this laptop to anyone that needs a solid, all around productivity computer that's built to last!

Beautiful and portable

I was looking for a laptop that I could use for my business, but I didn’t want or need a full size “heavy duty” laptop. I wanted something that was lightweight, thin, but still had the power do do my everyday tasks running my business. I already have a full size desktop in the office so I wasn’t looking for another one of those…. This has been perfect for me so far. It’s been everything I’ve wanted and has been exceeding my expectations with its performance and its screen resolution. While I have an office I work in, 75% of my business is ran on the road out of my vehicle so a laptop is a necessary part of my business. Asus has made a beautiful machine and this has really checked all of the boxes in a very good way… what I mean by that is that is that it’s not made with the super cheap low end pieces, but it also stays away from the super high end and expensive components to really make a perfect laptop in a price range that most people would find right in the middle. Running quickbooks, having zoom meetings, and managing my business accounts have been how I spent the majority of my time on this so far and I have had 0 issues. If this keeps working like it is I may convert my other business computers to Asus.

Like most Windows computers, you have to wait for the gauntlet of updates before you can start using the laptop fully. Though it doesn’t have the massive amount of bloatware of many years ago, there’s still some Asus specific software and bookmarks pre-installed, but nothing overly intrusive. Then, when it’s time to start using this, it’s just a delight.
- Light weight with modern design and materials. The finish attracts fingerprints, though.
- Touchpad has an integrated number pad that can be invoked and doubles as a calculator. It’s not haptic, however, and if you use too light of a touch, the digit is not entered.
- The 16:10 14.5” OLED display is sharp with excellent color, but it’s glossy and has lots of glare and reflectivity. It also has a touch screen which seems a bit odd since the screen does not fold back to convert into a tablet. It does, however, fold 180° to create a flat surface.
- It’s a nice enough display for creators to use to edit photos and videos. However, the laptop does not have an SD card slot. The screen supports pen input, but does not include one.
- The display also supports 120hz refresh. You may not think it’s significantly better than a typical monitor, but after a while, your eyes will feel less tired compared to the slight jerkiness of a standard 60hz display.
- I love the keyboard. It has a nice feel to it with it good travel. The sound is soft but the press has just the right sponginess to it.
- Using the Dynamic setting in the Dolby settings outputs impressive sound. It still lacks some bass, but is otherwise crisp and full.
- If the laptop is turned off, it does not automatically turn on when the cover is opened. While using it for general office work and watching some videos, the fan never needed to turn on, keeping it quiet.
- 1080p integrated camera for high quality video meetings and calls.
Overall, it has an excellent price point for all the features that come with it.

The ASUS - Zenbook 14.5" 2.8K OLED Laptop - Intel Evo Platform 13th gen is amazing.
Hardware: The laptop is very durable. The i7 processor soars with performance. Switching from one application to another is seamless. Windows 11 OS is everything you would want from an operating system. From the Dock to starting the applications, all is very simple and ease of use.
WiFi - connects seamlessly and promptly. Just type in the password for the wifi and it connects in seconds. Very fast speeds and websites loads really quick. I can go from one site to another in a very efficient manner.
Graphics - The OLED Screen rocks!! Very solid and sharp graphics. Graphics render really quick and resolution images just pop and are so life like. I have watched videos and worked on documents for hours without any blurring or issues. I am very impressed with how crisp and fine the pixels are on this machine.
Memory - Plenty if memory on this laptop with 16GB and 512GB SSD hard drive. Both perform as I would expect and need for work and for home use. Windows 11 rides on 16GB without any issues. I use multiple windows at any time and no memory issues or unexpected closings or shutting down of the system due to lack of resources.
Highly recommend this laptop for anyone wanting a professional grade system for work or home.

Deserves a 4.5 actually. Both 4 or 5 stars is O.K.
Positive: Fast CPU, very crisp screen, good mem, good storage, overall very happy with the whole package.
Drawbacks: 1xUSB-C and 2 USB-3 ports, thus limited USB connectivity. Can be aleviated with a small USB hub (~ $12-20). Screen as others have said is glossy, but really not an issue.

I bought this laptop back in August when it was on sale. I did a lot of research on sub 1k laptops prior, for the money you can’t buy a better unit.
It’s well made with its mil spec aluminum enclosure beautiful OLED display, nice keyboard and a touch pad that doubles as a number pad.
The CPU is fast and 16gb ram is a sweet spot. Built in WiFi 6e offers fast network speeds.
Really this laptop has it all minus a dedicated GPU which you can get if you need it and want to spend a a few hundred more. I leave the gaming to my consoles anyways. This perfectly replaced my i7-6300 desktop system. Zero regrets.
