I told myself the audio shouldn't be the deal breaker as I've seen as a bad review. The audio went out after 3 days! I gave it to my girlfriend to update her from her Macbook for online school and couldn't use it. If you're not travelling as much or you enjoying using headphones, i would recommend it. However, as many of us get laptops to take everywhere, i wouldn't recommend it. I tried to love it, i really did, but no can't do.

Hinges suck wish it lasted

Good for the price but doesn’t stand up to my Mac

Hard to open and trackpad isn’t all that great. Colors are vivid so that’s a pro. Used to working on a Mac so this was outside my comfort zone.

Open Box Satisfactory

Besides the numerous scratches and marks all over the laptop as if it had been used for years, upon starting it up there was image burn-in on multiple areas of the screen. I was told by a Best Buy associate that this was not a floor model item, but I find it hard to believe that burn-in could occur so quickly for the previous customer who returned it. To make matters worse, when retuning the item in-store, for some reason I had to stand there and wait while the associate factory reset the computer. This wouldn’t have been a big deal normally, just a minor inconvenience, however this computer took over 30 minutes to reset. There is no doubt that this laptop presents a good value, with a beautiful display and good specs, however please make sure to inspect your laptop display for burn-in if you buy open box, as I suspect some open box are floor models that could have been sitting out for months

My return period with Best Buy ended 1 month after purchase. I assume I will have to pursue the warranty with Asus - what a pain.

We do understand your concern about thermal issues and the inconvenience this may have caused you.
It is normal for the laptop to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no system resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature and may also cause auto-shutdown. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.

Consider carefully

The back light on the keyboard is on but the screen flickers and or goes black. It’s 2 1/2 weeks old should NOT be doing this. Took it to geek squad and they said we could send it out but it was a manufacturer defect. The battery also does not last long. It’s a cool idea the flip book but I think it needs major improvements.

Did not get what I paid for... Worst audio

Screen flickers . My previous Asus laptop(ASUS Q525UA-BI7T9) was great Not happy at all, and would love a replacement or a different next model iwithout these problems.

Very much worth it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m upgrading from my a relatively recent mid-end laptop, Asus Ryzen 5, to this bad boy. Out of the box, there’s nothing out of the ordinary. I actually always like Asus’ packaging because it feels special and is designed to make this seem like a high end purchase (which it is). Upon powering it on, even at the initial setup, I was BLOWN AWAY with how great the screen look. The 4k screen runs as clear, bright and crisp as you’d expect with deep black tones for contrast. This literally looks as good, if not better, than my highest end TV. The keyboard layout is great, buttons functioned comfortably, with a numerical keypad, which plenty of laptops nowadays omit. This was a welcome change of pace. The touchpad mouse, works as expected, is smooth, and avoids the common hassle of accidental clicks or over clicking. Past that, the other things of note were the speed and audio quality. My old laptop had the speakers on the bottom so when you’d listen to audio, it came through muffled by the surface the laptop sat on. Not anymore cause this came through clear as day. Obviously computers can be deceptively quick upon launch but bogged down as the memory fills up. I transferred a few hundred gigs of media onto this and noticed no difference in speed. Truly a powerful machine. In closing, there’s not much else to say. At the end of the day, it’s a laptop. You’re going to probably click around, watch some videos, do some work and be happy. The difference is that if you want to do all of those things with one of the sleekest, sharpest, most powerful laptops on the market, this becomes an obvious buy.
