Increase sound volume and gaming performance

Download the free fxsound app..once installed, all sound with be rerouted to this app with volume boost and 3d sound. A must!! For gamers, gaming quality and speed will increase when plugged in versus using the battery. Turn on the performance fan to keep the unit cooled. Using heavy graphic games on battery will heat the unit, drain the battery, and sometimes shut the unit off. Another option is to grab the creative ootz speaker..it's tiny but will add high quality sound for about $15.

Great (when it worked)

I used up my entire warranty repairing this device, and it was shipped back to repair through geek squad at least 5 times in the three years I had it.

Mother board issues

Geek squad gave me a price of $1100 dollars to replace the board, outrageous, and that with me being a total member. It seems like the charging port its connected to the motherboard and it can not be replaced by itself thus, the entire board has to be replaced. I thought Assus was a good brand and parts were reliably affordable and that Geek squat would help with pricing but not the case. Paid $1600 for this laptop and now it is useless

EVERYTHING YOU COULD AFFORD ON BUDGET BUT BETTER

After reviewing all the specs it was an immediate buy @ $649. This is literally a steal. love my Asus

Unusable with sharp eyesight
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 20/10 vision and absolutely cannot stand this screen and immediately returned the laptop. There are black dots every ~20 pixels that run diagonally across the entire screen in corner-to-corner lines. If I lean back a foot I can't see them and the picture looks great, but as it is this was entirely unusable in a normal sitting position for me. The LCD used is the Samsung SDC4143. The HP Spectre x360 uses the same screen (It was in Best Buy and saw the same dots). I have no issue with any other 4K 15" screen and have personally used 3 others. I do at least commend the Best Buy return policy. I got a full refund.

Not what I wanted

I have been back to the store and all I got was some "this is the way they're all going" feedback. It did help, but I had to buy a mouse as the touchpad often is "off" or away from the click point by 1/4" or more. You can forget using "Edit Points as the touchpad lacks the ability unless you are very zoomed in. :: USB: It has two micro-USB (C) ports and one normal USB port. I had to buy a multi-USB port to fix that, too. :: Overall: For the price, I would expect better quality. I need a laptop now for my home office and plan to go back to HP.

Fragile and quiet speakers

Make another choice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a couple of these machines for some designers to use, thinking the upgraded graphics card would be a benefit. ONe machine is deployed and working without incident, however, the other will not wake from sleep. I have to do a hard restart to get it to come alive. BEWARE: if you buy an ASUS from Best Buy, you can not contact ASUS for support. You are redirected to Best Buy support to resolve your issues and well.... I'll just return the laptop because BB support didn't have a clue and i refuse to waste any more time on an inoperable machine. I Purchase many machines per month for my clients and this was only my 3rd or 4th ASUS, it will be my last.

Poor Experience

I think I just got a bad one, but I ended up returning it as the performance was about as good as a $400 computer. After all the updates still had poor performance when running multiple screens.

Not Recommending Best Buy/Geek Squad

A list of all files & programs I wanted transferred from my old lap top to the new one. Was contacted July 2 the computer was in & all transferred ready to pick up. Camera did not work - had to order another one --- the end result, had to come to Ft. Wayne, 100 miles round trip 2 more times to get files transferred and working. Still not all working!!!! This is disgusting 400 miles total from a Brand Name retail store for a product they can't make right!!

We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience if you are experiencing stability or performance issue with the laptop.
This issue is temporary during the initial WINDOWS setup and before installing cumulative WINDOWS Update, regardless what brand name of computer this may be. This may take a longer time depending on the network traffic from the update server and the stability of your high-speed internet service. Also, laptop will do several system reboot, black screen temporarily or restart during the update process.. Once initial setup and WINDOWS Update installation completed, system speed or performance will be optimized. Keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance.
If the above-mentioned steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/. Also, while accessing web applications, please make sure the unit has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system speed and performance.
