A great little machine!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is a wonderful experience. I bought it purely for when I need a grab and go computer as I tend to do some programming and game development daily. This laptop has proven it is capable of far more than I realized initially. The speeds are snappy, you can literally open the lid and just start working. The storage is fast too (not surprising though since it's an ssd). My favorite thing about the machine though, has to be the DISPLAY! It is beautiful, not to say the machine itself isn't but the display is OLED and 4K it's something I've never had before but I now know it's something I need in my life 10/10 an amazing machine!

Put Apple to same
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Last had the Asus Q 536 FD but it came w only 2gb of graphics , 256 SSD and 1tb mechanical drive which took up another 25% of where battery could have been added. I only told that because the battery on this one is amazing backlit keyboard not only is it well three and a half k it's also OLED the keys are very nice when typing gameplay is pretty smooth I can get a little choppy when playing wirelessly but much better than the q536. Very happy with this purchase

Great laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this laptop for about a month. Have not put it through a whole lot of work yet. I mainly use it for mobile audio production. The power is there for sure. The screen is a beauty. The battery life not too bad. I usually keep it on battery saver when unplugged. The only negative I have is the speaker volume. At max volume the audio is not that loud. It is nice and clear but not a lot of output. Comparing it to my Lenovo 730. The Lenovo is clearly a lot louder. I bought this laptop on sale for $1149 which was a great deal. Had to update all drivers and bios out of the box which is to be expected.

Faulty fan and touch pad issues. Only 8 months old
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is a faulty fan that makes the pc throttle down. The touch pad is inconsistent and sometimes unresponsive. The speakers do not get very loud so background noise makes it hard to hear. I use it for presentation in the home and it wasn't the best. The display and brightness are amazing and it was very quick in the beginning. The battery life barely gets me through 5 hours of use. That use is pretty heavy using a sketch and playing videos and using educational software.

Great machine
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I came in to the store looking for a computer with specific requirements for work. The person working was really helpful and showed me a few laptops in my price range all well suited for my needs. I was always curious abous Asus and really like the look and feel of the machine. After using it for about a month, I've really taken a liking to it. Its fast, easy to manage and gets me excited to start my day.

Great All Around Laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So it was time for a new laptop and I wanted to get something that checked all the boxes but not be too high in price. I started with the basics, need atleast 16GB of Ram, Possibly i7 or i9, 256 GB SSD and 4K Resolution... After filtering I saw this and it took about a day to make that final choice. So far very please with the performance...Set-up was a breeze... The funny part is that now i've introduced a new component to an older network so updating my monitors will be next. I'll possibly go with two 4K Monitors to replace my older Dell P2014H Monitors.

Asus Q538
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 4 months of use I'm extremely satisfied with this laptop and would recommend it if you're thinking of getting it. Pros: • 4k oled screen is hands down the best I've ever seen. • It has hdmi, usb, usb-c, and sd card reader. • It's light weight and feels like solid construction. • Super fast start up and runs programs at ease. (Music production, video editing, Call of Duty 1080p 60fps) • Charges really fast. Cons: • Gets too hot to keep on your lap • Battery doesn't last very long, especially if you keep the screen in 4k.

Not Perfect, But Very Close
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this laptop after extensive research and reading customer reviews of several brands. For the most part, I was satisfied with the many positive reviews of ASUS laptops, including this machine. I also read, with dismay, lots of negative reviews for other leading brands of laptops - - price notwithstanding. I believe that if you are laying down $1,000+ (or way more) for a laptop, it better be a very good product. I am typing this review on a 10 year old MacBook Air that still performs just fine. This ASUS is a solid build. Great screen, excellent keyboard and a decent amount of ports. Very fast startup and performance. And, no detectable fan noise. The keyboard has a few quirks (size of certain keys and position), but nothing major. Have had it running several hours a day to be sure that I could uncover any issues early on. So far, nothing evident. If you want to nitpick, the power brick is a little large (compared to Apple products), but since this laptop is one that was purchased mainly for home use, not much of an issue. Battery life is very good and I like the ability to chose a setting for charging that is less than 100% in order to extend battery life. Backlight for keyboard is a little dim, but is satisfactory. Speakers ok, but I don't expect concert sound from a laptop anyway. Most of the ports I use are on the right side, so I need to keep the mouse a few inches farther away than I normally would. Overall, this was my first ASUS product and I am happy to say that so far everything looks very good.

Great Laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was easy, screen is stunning, and overall performance is great! You can tell the quality of the laptop is top-notch and is built to last with it's all metal frame. The only downside I have about this laptop is that it cannot be charged via the USB-C port so I really only use it to connect to a secondary monitor via a docking station - you'll need to use the power adapter to charge the laptop.

Great laptop, but I had to return mine...
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only had this laptop for one day, and returned it the next. So why am I still giving it 4 stars? To be clear, I loved it. The screen, keyboard, touchpad, graphics card, 2 in 1 capability etc. were just the combination of features I was after. My primary uses for this computer would be photo editing, web surfing, and some gaming. After a day of use, it did all of those things very well for my purposes. So why did I return it? Short answer: the screen. The 15.6 inch OLED employed in this laptop is the best looking display I have ever used. The inky blacks, the vivid colors... everything you've heard about OLED is true. I was able to see subtle colors in my photographs I hadn't even noticed before. But sadly the screen in the laptop I received from Bestbuy had a defect which resulted in the left third of the display showing an odd greenish tint that became progressively worse the further left you looked. I went to my local Bestbuy store and tested it for this defect and it was present. So, not all of these laptops will have that screen defect, and THAT is why I am still giving it 4 stars despite receiving a defective screen that forced me to return it. Unfortunately this laptop is currently out of stock and doesn't seem to be available from any other stores. But, if/when it does become available again I might give it one more go. It is a superb laptop if you don't receive a defective display. Just be sure to check every single aspect of your new computer from Bestbuy as soon as you get it, because the new 15 days return policy is very limiting.

My honest review
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall a great machine. The screen is beautiful and the specs should make it run with no issues my only complaint is the speakers, you can barely hear at full volume so had to purchase a $20 wireless speaker and that does the job pretty well. a phone can have dual facing speakers and sound much better so it's a cheap part wish it wasn't because my overall score would be higher. Also could of used a second usb slot.

4th Time is a Charm!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the 4th laptop I ordered this year and the only one I didn't have to return for audio/visual issues (the others were either Open Box Excellent or New). This ASUS is the perfect marriage of a light gaming laptop and a school-ready laptop. Here's what I was looking for that this computer performs exceptionally in: --Light Gaming (AOE, Talisman, Sims 4, Catan, etc) the graphics are fine and everything runs smoothly. --Runs streams over Discord and video chats go smoothly --Multiple things run at once without a hitch --Excellent video quality to keep up with my online classes (I'm in a Master's program). --Lightweight for porting to-and-from campus (tried this for the first time yesterday!) --The numeric keypad is roomy (at least for my small hands) and I love having it on such a lightweight laptop!! --Sturdy enough to survive a few bumps Things that Could Be Improved: While all in all this is a fantastic laptop and I am very happy I won't be returning it like I did the others, the following could be improved a bit: --As with most of the laptops I've tried as the market seems to have trended this way for some reason, the casing is a fingerprint magnet. --While the audio is way better than the previous laptops (no mic drops or disruptions that shouldn't be happening in new laptops) the richness and volume definitely could be a little better and sharper. --The touchscreen was a must for me but this one could definitely use some more calibration or an option to do so! All in all 9/10! Consider this for a perfect blend of light gamer and student which was hard to find for me so I'm glad I finally did! :)
