    Extremely solid, well-built laptop

I was really tempted in getting the other 2-in-1s like the HP Spectre x360 or Lenovo's Yoga 920, but I'm really glad I stuck with my gut and went with Asus. I've owned an Asus laptop before, and they are extremely reliable and well-built (lasted me 5+ yrs and still worked like new). The main selling points for me were: the brand - ASUS - which in general provides reliable products and their own 1-yr accidental damage warranty, the NVIDIA graphics card which isn't the best but is definitely better than any of the ubiquitous integrated intel HD graphics, and the rest of the pretty high specs (i7-8550 processor, 16GB RAM, and SSD) to ensure this laptop will last 5+ years and more. The laptop has that smooth, sleek metal finish, which feels exactly how it sounds. When holding the laptop, it really feels solid, study and well built; for example, it doesn't feel like the laptop is bending when you hold the laptop with one hand at the very edge of it (in fact it doesn't feel like there is any "plastic feel" to it at all, it feels like its completely made of metal, but very light at the same time). The touchscreen is very responsive with just your fingers, and even with the included stylus when I tried it out (although I don't use the stylus at all). The fingerprint reader I felt worked very well and the response time is less than a second. I had no problems with the touch pad, and I got used to that pretty quick. Keyboard takes a bit to get used too, of course, but I had no problems with how the keys felt to press. My 2 only concerns with this laptop were: -The speakers: They are on the bottom corners (away from the screen) of the laptop, so if you are trying to play something with the laptop on a flat surface, they sound a bit muffled because of that. Luckily, music and videos are typically played via Bluetooth, or HDMI or other projection, so its not a problem for me. -The USB-A connections: At least for my laptop, both ports were very tight. Whether plugging in or out, I always have to wiggle it in/out for any of my usb devices. It is really hard to push in, and especially pull out your device. Another concern I saw while researching this laptop prior to ultimately purchasing it was that the max brightness of this model was lower compared to other brands (HP spectre, lenovos yoga). However, I didn't think it was an issue, mainly because I use this laptop 100% indoors. Overall this laptop exceeded my expectations, and I'm glad I didn't go with the other competition.

Got my laptop last 05/05/18, looks impressive for PC based users, all input devices are working, MS Office Student Ed 2016 runs smoothly. The screen display is crisp and crystal. Battery life while using and stay by mode go more than 16 hours. I use the laptop for school and work, no problem handling multiple applications open. Highly recommend to students and road warriors.

When my current laptop began getting noisy and smelled of hot phenolic, I decided it was time to replace it. One key feature I was looking for was SSD storage. I'd have gone for a 2 TB drive if available, but the 500GB drive resulted in a huge performance increase. Also the touchscreen doesn't initialize late in the boot process, unlike the predecessor laptop, so I don't have to wait forever after a Windows update before I can use it. The overall screen size is a bit small for me, but the resolution is good enough I can pipe the output to a monitor and get all the detail I need.

Asus has always made amazing products, but this laptop in particular is both durable and stylish. It’s functional with easy to access buttons and ports, a decent keyboard, and a touch screen when you need it. It’s bulletproof shell will keep it protected in daily use and it’ll be just as fast years after purchase.

Computer was a little expensive for what it was when I bought it. It also is very delicate. I have multiple dead areas on the screen due to very minor things like shutting it.

Great look and feel, but not the best hardware. For the price, I would not recommend this slow machine.

I love all the specs I was able to get on this PC for the price as similar products with similar specs would've cost me way more.
