My first PC in 14 years

I’ve needed a PC the past couple years from my job because certain software works better on PC. After careful searching I narrowed my choice down to the Asus Zen book Pro duo 14.5 OLED. my experience thus far has been decent for the most part. Coming from a Apple MacBook Pro M2 Max with very similar specs, I feel like the MacBook is still a much better option for on the go computing. My main reason for this is because of battery life. The Zenbook is only good for about three hours on battery, and the way the computer throttles it’s performance based on power input is very noticeable. I don’t like the proprietary 180w charging brick as this is the only way to get full performance out of the laptop. You can charge via USB-C but the input wattage is maxed out at 100 W. The Apple Silicon is noticeably more efficient after comparing the two machines. The cooling fans on the Zenbook are very noticeable and this machine will get very hot. Again, coming from a MacBook Pro M2 Max, the fans rarely kick on unless I’m exporting a huge 4K project or rendering something in final cut. Perhaps the new intel Ultra series processors are better in this regard. Another con that bothers me is that the OLED display is not a nice solid piece of glass. It is some sort of composite plastic. So the edges of the screen have a wavy glare when the light hits just right. However the main screen image quality is beautiful. Looking at them side-by-side with my MacBook Pro, you really can’t tell a difference unless there is a glare. The overall built quality of this machine is very nice though. I just wish they took a page from Apple on the overall material choices. Some of the things I really like about this laptop are the secondary screen, although I wish it was also OLED. The secondary screen is what sold me as it very unique and a constant head turner. The keyboard placement and trackpad is actually really nice. I like the offset trackpad on the right side and I’m left-handed. The only drawback is that the keys are very close together, but it feels and functions like a quality product. I’ve also had a couple bugs with the Asus ScreenPad+ software. It will occasionally crash depending on the performance mode it is in. It crashes more often when it’s on battery power. Another pro pro about this laptop is the amount of ports. It is very similar to my MacBook in this regard. As far as PC goes I feel like they’ve come a long way. Getting used to windows is not fun, but but when it works it works well. The new Zenbook Pro duo is pretty cool, but I don’t need the ability to remove my keyboard and prop up the computer the way it’s meant to be. I needed something more portable with a lot of functionality. my wish on this laptop is that it had the new Intel ultra processor. as I’ve learned that they are more efficient and just as powerful like the silicone. but the laptop definitely turns heads. so far every time I’ve taken it out somebody always comments on it positively, including Mac users lol. So with that I’d say this is a pretty decent PC coming from a Mac. Especially for the price— $3200 Mac vs $2100 pc.

Best Buy is the worst company I've bought first and last time, first they give you false information, they promise you heaven and earth, it was challenged and my order did not arrive, UPS delivered it wrong and admitted its mistake, but this company is only taking time to give me excuses, and not answer me for my money, The bella supervisor promised me a solution in 48 hours and it's been 3 days, And that's how they are all, insistent

This is a great computer but I personally don't see a huge benefit of the bottom screen for what I do (College). If you edit photos or videos, this is for you. If you work on 3d software like CAD/CAM or anything similar, I can see this helping you. If you got the money to burn, go ahead. Besides that, a simple laptop and another cheap monitor is all you need and for far less. You can game on this but I wouldn't recommend for just that reason. But besides that, this is a good and powerful laptop for the right person.

Great machine, I am literally running the most demanding Architecture Design programs and this thing is running like its nothing. Some of the most demanding graphic games run like they were Excel and Docs.

The speed and performance of the computer is really good. It's normal for the battery to drain quickly on a computer of this size, but I bought it knowing that. It's a nice computer that provides every feature I want. I recommend it.

Had it for little time, but is very fast, high definition and the little screen helps as a secondary monitor if you are used to work like that.
