I had a MacBook Pro for 7 years, i still have it as my backup. But i wanted to take a different route when purchasing my new laptop. I chose the Asus zenbook touch. I love the fact that it has a touch screen, the memory is great, storage is great, it’s fast. I had some issues with the sound not working, and I’m not a fan of the sound system on it, but after a few updates, the sound is functioning normally. Going from Mac functions to Windows is different to start, but it’s rather simple to get the hang of. Also, kudos to Best Buy for getting the laptop to me 3 days faster than what i paid for. And Kudos to Asia for the beautiful packaging on this product.

So far from all the Ultrabooks I have owned this is by far the best I have ever owned and it's not even the most expensive. I have owned a Lenovo Yoga 730, a MacBook air 2017, and a Microsoft Surface book 13". None of those compare in terms of raw power per pound that this laptop delivers. With it's quad-core i7, 16gb ram and 512gb this has benchmarked really high on several tests I have ran on it. At 2.2 pounds or 1kg this should be the prototypical Ultrabook that competing companies should mimic. The all aluminum unibody is beautiful and sleek. Additionally, it feels tough, like it can survive a few falls and dents. Only, downside is the material seems to be a fingerprint magnet, but it's nothing regular maintenance can't clean up. ASUS throws in a nice sleeve and usb-c to HDMI and usb-a adapter which is awesome considering apple charges you $69 for their equivalent adapter. I have done light gaming on this laptop with no issues. The 4k display definitely comes into play when watching Netflix movies or when playing slower paced games. I mainly use this laptop as my daily driver to work, school, and travelling as it barely feels like I'm carrying any extra weight. I have had zero issues with any of it's features. The laptops elevated keyboard design also provides me with an amazing typing experience and it definitely serves it's functional purposes of improving the cooling on the laptop. The keys feel very similar to the MacBook keys and I always loved those for typing long documents. All in all, if you're reading this and you're looking to buy an Ultrabook to complete your life than look no further than the Zenbook S from ASUS a true piece of technological art and wonder.

I started working from home all of a sudden due to the coronavirus and it really started to reveal the limits of my old Macbook. I found the Asus ZenBook to be a good balance between price and value. I like the 16GB memory which is good for multitasking. The 512GB SSD gives you plenty of space. It is very fast to start, wake up and things like that. It is one of the lightest laptops out there and I enjoy the ergonomic lift of the keyboard. The screen is beautiful - with my old Macbook you can see every pixel, but the Asus has an incredibly smooth picture. I don't really use laptops to watch movies but imagine it could be a great experience. Battery life is decent. If you're doing low-resource things like typing a document or browsing the internet it will last you over half a work day. But if you're constantly on Zoom or Teams meetings it will drain the battery in 3 hours. The touchpad is really good and supports many gestures. It is extremely helpful for switching apps in a snap. However if you're going to be on your laptop all day, do your wrists a favor and get a wireless mouse. In summary this is a really strong product compared to other laptops with similar specs. The Asus advantage to me is the slimness and light weight, as well as the ergonomic lift of the keyboard. The only things left to be desired are bells and whistles like face ID recognition (this laptop only does fingerprint), extra battery life, and a less smudgy housing.

If words could describe - just awesome! Pros: very clear picture, lightweight, super fast, comes with nice case (to minimize the finger prints , maybe?) and adapter for HDMI, USB 2.0, and mini USB Cons: finger-print magnet, battery (understandably due to 4K) does not last as long 1080 HD screens

Lives up to all the marketing information. Lightweight, powerful, decent battery life. Keyboard in very nice, but takes a little getting use to which is normal for me. Trackpad is very sensitive, but stutters at times. The 4k screen is perfect. BestBuy had a great sale when I bought mine, so, it was a great buy.

I like that the computer has a 4k touch screen. I think the sound card should be better for the price. I have to use a volume booster app in chrome to be able to hear. It doesn't sound like it is in stereo. The screen should be2 inches bigger; the hard drive should have more storage considering the cost. Overall, it is a good computer.

First the reason I bought this computer is that I needed to replace my travel laptop. My original ASUS was mistakenly sent in to ASUS for repairs. After 3 months I'm still battling ASUS to get them to return my laptop. I was happy with my last ASUS - I'll see if this one stands up to the Road Warrior test over time. ONLY reason I bought this thru Best Buy is Geek Squad support. I'll never use ASUS repair again. So, can't seperate the computer from the warranty support - Always had good service from Geek Squad.

I purchased this for my daughter a month ago for school work and light gaming use (Minecraft, and Among Us). I like the SSD, so it doesn't get as hot as others without the solid state drive. It's portable and a little more rugged than the Macs. The speed and touch screen as super important in our house and I've heard no complaints.

If I could leave no stars, I would. First off, the finish isn’t what it is cracked up to be because it always looks like it has fingerprints on it no matter what I do. Second, the suction with the computer staying closed is nice, however the lip to open it is exactly where your camera is so if you like smudges on your camera by all means get this computer. Third, Asus tech-support is the worst support I have ever seen in my entire life. The horrible USB-C decided it wasn’t going to work for me on the right side. Because of this I had to send my computer after only having it September and November to their company in December during the issues with holiday shipping in general and pandemic stress on top of it and now it is January 4 and I am still waiting for my computer to come back. We are going on three weeks and they have just now sent it to another facility Because they couldn’t fix it at the facility that it was at. I’m curious to see if when I get it it actually works. I spent how much money on a computer and I can’t even use it. If I could, I would gladly give this horrible computer back and buy from someone much more reliable than this treacherous company. I hope this review saves somebody else the hardships, the wasted time and aggravation spent trying to figure out what the heck was wrong on my computer and on the phone and put your money on a product that actually works.

I was looking to replace a Sony Vaio with 512BG SSD and the then fastest i7 processor. (Sony has not made PCs for maybe 5 years) I prioritized small footprint, light weight, solid build quality, and great display. This ASUS delivers on all counts: > Solid chassis - all metal; > Fast 8th gen i7 processor (4 cores, 8 logical processors; does not sweat multitasking) > Beautiful 4K Ultra HD screen This ASUS is working for me.

I was overall pretty disappointed in this laptop because it’s not cheap at all and although it’s not a gaming laptop, I had higher expectations in terms of performance. The battery sometimes lasts 4-5 hours unless I drop the laptop’s performance level below half. Finger prints stay on forever and it’s impossible to find a protector for this laptop. It’s really light and portable, though and there’s a lot of storage.

It’s a beautiful blue, very lightweight and thin. It’s made to not sit flat on the table so there’s no hot table top. The keyboard is lit which makes it easier to see the keys. I haven’t used it all day yet so not sure how many hours between charges. I charged it once when I received the computer (to full charge) and it still has a lot of juice. I haven’t found any negatives about this computer.

Bought for daughter to use at college. Very disappointed with it. Motherboard failed while away at school - sound failure, high running temperatures, loss of USB, bluetooth and wifi loss, BSOD constantly. Sent to manufacturer for warranty repair. Got it back and now have to send back again because the operating system install is corrupt, won't allow updates, account login, or a PC reset. Going back to school without this computer, had to buy another computer (NOT THIS BRAND) so she would have one to use.

This is an update to my previous review. I was able to return this PC at Best Buy because I'm an elite member and you get 30 days to return. I had zero problems in the return department. As far as this particular PC I won't buy again....I will look at another PC. The ASUS PC's I have bought in the past have always been top quality. This ZenBook overheats and after only two weeks had problems that support could not fix. Still a Best Buy customer after the no hassle return. Not happy with ASUS.
