Customer Ratings & Reviews

Never owned one of these before but due to the fact that new PCs don’t have them I made the choice to buy this one because I still need it. I bought this particular one because it’s the same brand as my new PC, no other reason. It does what it should and that’s that

Very fast, reliable, easy to use USB DVD/CD drive!

I needed a new external cd/dvd player as my new computer did not come with one. I purchased this unit and am very pleased with it. Does exactly what I needed.

Great speed and space, exactly what I needed. The small size makes it extremely easy to mount almost anywhere on your rig. You cant go wrong picking one of these up.

This drive is plug and play with Windows; I didn't open the included CD. It's very compact but I think care is needed to avoid damaging the drawer when open: it isn't very sturdy. It fit the need for ripping some old music CDs on a drive-less desktop.

Got a limited gift set CD for a gift and didn't know how to get it onto iTunes to listen. This was super easy and inexpensive.

I was looking for a quality product and found good reviews on the ASUS DVD USB 2.0 drive. It is a solid product and not flimsy like some of the other ones out there for sale. It works quickly and doesn't heat up a lot unless it is a lot of data.

Should've read or asked if it could be used on the tv. Only for computer i think but works well from the one time i used it for my grandson to watch a movie.

A nice drive drive in a small, portable package. The addition of an extra USB A port in the included connector cable is nice for additional power. It is a little expensive for what it is, but it does seem to be well-made.

Great price for a great product! It works great and the speed is phenomenal.

A necessity since new PC's don't have internal CD players...and you gotta have some music!!!

New all-in-one didn't have optical drive. Found this one. Really small footprint (Thin). Easy set-up (computer found it immediately, loaded built-in drivrers). I haven't tried burning anything yet, but ASUS products are normally good quality, so it should work just fine.

Nice unit. Plug and Play. The included software is very old and not needed to use all functions. Also the USB connector on the unit is a USB Mini. I have used it a few times to burn data using the Windows transfer system in File Folder and it plays back fine. It plays back CD's I burned data to years ago fine. I have also watched a few movies on DVD fine. BUT, like with any CD/DVD drive, internal or external, To play DVD movies you will need 3rd party software. I use VLC Media Player

Easy installation and use. Price is reasonable. Good quality

i have only watched some dvds and used it to get data off of some old disk. it was very quiet when it was working. reading the dvd and copying from the disk.

I bought a new computer in November and in April when I wanted to do our taxes, I discovered the disk drive did not work. So, I went to the Best Buy website and ordered this unit. It worked wonderfully ! I had my taxes done in no time !! It even supplies two different hookup cables. This is very handy, otherwise you might run all around trying to find the right cable. Very satisfied with it.

I used it to play my old CDs while working on my PC. It works like a charm!

I bought this so that I could store my old CD and DVD content on an external hard drive. It was super easy to setup, connect and use. A full CDd took 3 or 4 minutes max and a full DVD took from as little as 7 min up to abut 20 depending on how much was o the DVD. In no time I had ripped 200 CDs and 150 DVDs to an external hard drive and was very pleased! I just popped them in and out at night while watching TV or during the day sitting by me at my desk. Very pleased!

My computer's internal drive quit working and I bought this hoping for the best. It works great, easy to use and I was burning back up files in no time. I also have an old DVD+R with pictures on it that nothing would read it. This did !! Very Happy with this purchase.

Simple USB DVD writer. One of those things you have to buy now that laptops don't come with optical drives anymore. Don't like the trend, since it forces you to either buy more hardware, or stream you videos and music. This thing works fine, it does what I need. Like reviewing a glass of water. It was wet, and slaked my thirst. I could add some exclamation points if that would help you understand my delight at this product!!! Goody! Enough. Decent price, works well.
