First, I want to compliment BB Customer Service. My initial phone order never arrived (US Post Office) and the agent I spoke with did some brief checking and offered a full refund or replacement on the first call! I took the replacement. And, he shipped it overnight via FedEx. Great, no hassle, customer service.
Now about the phone. It is fast, better than my iPhone 6s+. Looks really good too and is metal, not plastic. A few downsides, ASUS loads the phone with proprietary software. Most can be disabled but it is a pain to have to go through this. The dual sim card slots are ideal for travel or if you want to maintain separate phone numbers. But keep in mind it uses 2 different sizes of sim cards. I recommend you get the phone before buying any cards. It would be nice if ASUS used a separate slot for the SD card (SD requires you to use 1 of the sim slots) or if they offered a 128gb model but for me, 64 is enough. I recommend a USB 'C' adapter so you can use an external card reader or thumb drive. Easy to find and use. This phone uses the USB 'C' plug that improves data transfer speed. USB micro or mini will not work. The 'C' looks like an inverse to the iPhone plug and is symmetrically shaped, not trapezoid like the plugs for Samsung 4 or 5. Also, be certain to buy a case specific to the 550 model. ASUS makes a few styles of this phone and the cases will not fit. I recommend a case because the phone is very slick and can easily slip out of your hand without a case. This phone has a very good sound system and the output is really good stereo if you use headphones. I wish it had 2 speakers for built in stereo, but oh well. Also, this phone uses GSM and will not work well on Sprint or Verizon. But GSM is the most used system around the world and the phone works great in Europe, South America, and most of Asia. I travel a lot :-) .
I am very happy with this phone. I like it better than my 6s+. It is a solid performer and gives me the flexibility I need with multiple cards. And, you can't beat the price for the features. f it was possible, I would have given it 4.5 stars. Just a few little items of distraction. I would absolutely recommend this phone to a friend or family member.

I have always been one who looks at Taiwan brands when making electronic purchases. My first product from there was an Acer P-120 laptop in 1995. I still have it, it still works! Now I have purchased an Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe and I couldn't be happier. Not only is it 1/2 the price of comparable Samsung phones (which it replaced) it has a better screen and better sound quality. Couldn't be happier!

Good dual-SIM phone

A good dual-SIM phone at a reasonable price. It supports most AT&T and T-Mobile frequency bands. The only 2 bands missing are AT&T's B29 and B30. Connectivity has been good. The processor's fast enough for most day-to-day tasks. I like how the phone can use one SIM for data and another SIM for voice. The only complaint I have is that the 2nd SIM occupies the space for the expansion SD card slot, but the built-in 64GB should be good enough for a long time. Battery lasts for about 2 days. Recommended.

Best phone I have owned thus far

In the past I have only ever owned Nokia phones, which went through a series of unique OS over the years until my previous one which had Windows 8 mobile. I took the step over to Android when purchasing this Asus phone. The learning curve from one to the other wasn't hard and I have been very pleased with game/app performance so far with this phone's specs.
Unless you have large pockets or handbag you can keep it in, the phone is rather bulky, which does mean more screen space so I guess it's user preference with that one (the next model up is even bigger).
Make sure when purchasing a case for this that you find your exact phone model number as I found out the hard way there are multiple models of each version of Zenphone 3.
The model I purchased was a little over my budget but well worth it. Have had it for several months now with no issues at all.
Would buy again (if I had the money that is).

Asus Zenfone is cheaper & more fragile compared to Samsung Galaxy S8 & LG G6 which is built like a tank. All these flagshits I have from the same year with similar specs.
still going strong S8 & G6 are still getting updates.

So far it's a pretty decent phone. I prefer the Samsung Note, but couldn't afford the price tag to buy it. This will do for now, since it's an upgrade from my Note II.

I compared this phone with 'Zenfone 3 Laser' which is the second entry level of Asus android phone. This is one star because of the following:
1) It took 500MB of reserved memory just for the OS alone compared to Zenfone 3 Laser which is 200MB. That's more than 50%, and it's not acceptable given the fact that both phones use the same software architecture.
2) Without doing anything, the phone slowly consumed 2GB of RAM after 3 consecutive days compared to Zenfone 3 Laser which is only 1.2GB of RAM usage. I don't know what the OS is doing in the background.
3) The power boost app that Asus provided is useless in this phone but it's little brother (Laser) is very useful.
4) The three lighted buttons do not respond effectively...it lags and sometimes it misses, while the Laser version does not miss anything.
5) Now, it asks me to upgrade to Android N (Nougat version, or Android 7) and the software release notes say that some of the apps are required to be removed because it will not work. Huh? What's this?
I have no complain of the hardware, it is professionally crafted to perfection and I think it's a lot better than any phone, including iPhone, that I've ever seen. It's truly unibody design. The software (OS) let it down the overall performance of this phone. I bought Zenfone 3 Laser a couple of months back and I was so impressed of the whole thing and that's why I bought a high-end version of Zenfone 3 which is Deluxe version. But I was totally wrong when I got this thing... a lot of software anomalies. I still keep this though because I think it's a lot better than the iPhone 7 plus.

I brought my phone in Feb 2017. it started overheating and then would not charge at all in May 2017. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT buy the 2 year Geek Squad plan as they only refunded the purchase price(399.99) and no part of the 108.00 that I paid for the plan. NEVER AGAIN will I purchase a phone from Best Buy.
