I bought this mesh system with the intention of using a wired/Ethernet backhaul with a 400 mbps internet setup. I live in a three story house, and wanted one satellite for each floor. I liked it for its low profile, and plain white look. It was easy to set up, has decent range (but the space isn’t that large). Devices seamlessly transition from one hub to the other. Was a perfect match for my set up.

    Excellent Coverage - Better Interface

I've always purchased Linksys products for networking, but then mine went down and I had to replace it. I really didn't think I needed a mesh system, but am glad I did, the exercise room in the back of the house now has full WIFI and the smart garage opener finally works . . . now if I can only make the Honeywell thermostat connect and stay connected . . . that's a Honeywell issue, never buy one of those. In the time I spent reading reviews, I had to narrow this down to what was available in the local (still 70 miles away) stores. The reviews all stated that the interface on this was one of the best. It really is. I have taken over IT chores for a non-profit theatre. They had an Orbi mesh system set up and the interface leaves a lot to be desired. It has the coverage that this Asus - ZenWIFI AX mini does, but no where near as easy to use.

    Far better than Nighthawk Mesh

Returned the Netgear Nighthawk Mesh system that was $500 and exchanged for this product. So much better in every single way. App experience is significantly better. No loss of signal, connectivity, or satellite drops. All problems with the Nighthawk system. Much smaller as well and easier to hide throughout the house. Get this one if your one the fence about Wifi 6 mesh routers.

Solid Mesh System with PPPOE and VLAN tagging

I just wanted to share that this router has PPPOE and VLAN tagging for those of you looking to use gigabit fiber with it. I currently use Centurylink fiber and I took a chance on the VLAN tagging as I hadn't seen anyone mention it specifically yet. VLAN ID 201 for Centurylink users. You can find the setting under Advanced Settings >LAN>IPTV>VID. It was a bit of a pain to setup with ethernet backhaul as you have to start with wireless backhaul first with all of the nodes in the same room and then move them and restart the devices in the new location. It took some patience but everything is doing well now. Remember to snag the updated firmware for the router and nodes separately while they are all in the same room.

So far soo good. The coverage is great and set up is simple. As a matter of fact once you set up the first node and enable the optimization feature all you have to do is plug in the other two nodes and they pair up in minutes not extra work needed. I have you the nighthawk mesh system and the linksys and let me tell you this one was the simplest to set up.

I got this system as a replacement for a different mesh system that did not work out for me. Easy setup, and the app is very easy to navigate. The web interface is also very easy to understand. There are a ton of configuration changes you can make - some may help you to shoot yourself in the foot so be careful :) I am using the wired backhaul option to connect the nodes. The satellite nodes only has a single Ethernet port so you either use it for backhaul traffic, or use it to connect to a end device. The "big brother" version of ZenWifi has multiple Ethernet ports on all nodes which makes connecting non-wifi enabled devices easier.

With the help of the instore technician and his guidance and advice, this product is amazing. With a large house (3700 sq ft) spread over three floors, the coverage of my 25mb down/5 mb up, I have not had any issues with coverage even in the far corners of the house. Also, the Android app. is great and easy to use. Configuring the devices was easy; updates automatic. Ongoing maintenance easy.

I know nothing about this stuff but the Best Buy associate that helped me seemed very knowledgeable. We were using the regular router from Frontier previously and we had a very weak signal on the other side of the house. The associate recommended this system and now we have great WiFi throughout the house. Easy to install and the system works great!

It looks great and easily fit in the decor. The set up is easy and works so much better than my previous routers. I tried various routers and wifi usually gets cut-off when someone use the microwave oven. The mesh system eliminate that problem and I get even signal through out the whole house and yard. I also saw speed improvement over my previous routers. Highly recommended.

A must have if your dropping WiFi connection in your home. I have ultra 400megs. This thing is blasting WiFi speed throughout my entire house. Make sure you download the app to optimize its performance. Also it’s great connecting 30 items in WiFi in my home. No lags at all! Must buy if your a serious WiFi user.

Giving it 4 stars because of pricing but as wifi mesh beomes more and more a requirement, it should go down in price in the future but this Asus ai mesh system is less than eero. I replaced my Cox wireless router with these Asus Wi-Fi mesh system. I used AX3000 as my main router and added these as nodes. Keep in mind Asus AiMesh has a maximum of 5 nodes. In my case, I can only add one more node if I needed to. If you have 20 or more I would recommend to get the tri-band setup. Overall very satisfied with Asus AiMesh system with my configuration on a 3500 Sq ft house. Difference in coverage is day & night. Speedwise is definitely way faster.

Nice size - not the best performance. I have found these to not give the full speed advertised. I ran through paces with an ax210 laptop card on a gigabit connection. I haven't gotten much more the 500Mbs throughput while connected to these devices. It is worth noting I am using them exclusively as mesh endpoints; not router. My router is an Asus AX86U, which gets closer to 700-750Mbs throughput from the same laptop. However, for most people, the value of this system is a lot of coverage for little money - I would definitely connect them by wires, however, as I can't imagine the dual band to be good at all when having to also pump out the backhaul.
