As far as mesh networks goes, this works as better than expected. Setup was easy and I have not had to reset my routers since they have been installed unlike other wife extenders and routers I have used. Range is great and coverage is great. Recommend.

With assistance from a wonderful Best Buy associate, I purchased this ASUS Mesh WiFi system. I really did not know what would be the best kind to purchase for my specific needs. This turned out to be a wonderful purchase, and just what I needed and it is working GREAT. Thank you so much!

This system is great! I purchased them to extend my wifi range to my ring system. But I added other devices in my home because the speed seem much faster than my router. It works better than I expected. I was very easy to set up and the system can be monitored and controlled through an app.

...but I haven't taxed it yet. Setup was super easy using the IOS app on my iPhone. It supports VPN (L2TP, OpenVPN and PPTP) so setup for my StrongVPN was very easy as well. Signal strength was good across a 2500 sq ft home and the nodes auto-connected to the main hub. I like it and the price was good.

Using three points in our house has really helps in the far corners from the wifi connection. Easy to set up and un-intrusive. Appreciate that we can turn off the light for the one in the bed room. Yet it will still flash a warning if it loosed internet connectivity.

Prior to this purchase, I had gone through 3 Netgear AC8000 X6 Mesh Extender. I was experiencing slow speeds, rebooting of extender or simply no signals. I fell on this Asus AX mini purely by accident as I was returning the last Netgear Extender the Bestbuy cashier suggested I speak with the salesman prior to refund. I'm glad I did because I was told my issue was that I was using a router extended with a Verizon router which although would work at first eventually the network would slow down and reboot the extender. The salesperson suggested a Linksys however it was $100 more. So I choose the Asus due to the price ($270 on sale) without truly knowing all its features such as dedicated WIFI6, security (AiProtection) etc.. So far I've had it for 1 week and love it. No more dead spots or drop in signal on the 2nd floor. Also, Like to note I replaced the Verizon router which was in the basement with it, and now the entire 3200sqft house is covered from the basement up to the 2nd floor.

Affordable AX Mesh. Would be 5 stars if it were 3-channel but that's why it's cheaper. Has really opened internet access in my home.

Spotty Connection & Abysmal Support

I’d give this 1/5, but I still have somewhat of a connection to my devices. The Best Buy worker (now a manager) recommended this router over the Netgear Nighthawk & eero. Came across as “You’re dumb if you don’t get this one.” So I caved… Set up was easy but the performance of the router was TERRIBLE. I had all 3 nodes (or whatever they’re called) set up in my 2-story townhome. Connection would drop sporadically on my smart tv, smartphones, PS4, laptops, and desktops. Even upgrading to WiFi 6 devices over my time of having this ASUS device didn’t help (like PS5). Contacted ISP & there weren’t any issues on their end. Contacted ASUS support and they were SLOW to respond & UNHELPFUL to the problem. They couldn’t figure out the issue & nothing was ever resolved. The only thing that helped was ditching one of the 3 nodes. Connection dips in and out, but not as frequent. And I went into the router settings to tether each stationary device to a specific node. Why not stick with 1 node? I prefer having some devices, like my PS5 and desktop, over a wired connection… and that’s why I paid for 3 nodes. I’m never buying another ASUS product again. And I’m taking Best Buy’s recommendations with a grain of salt. At least from my local store.

A perfect solution for my signal issues

We live on an older house and lot, with a lot of clay/adobe construction, which causes some really bad wi-fi signal degradation outside of the area around where our main router's set up. While we tried to set up an extended signal with an older Netgear router, it just didn't really do the trick, and anyone trying to work in one of the two workshop areas around the main house would lose their signal altogether. Thankfully, these ZenWifi units did the trick and have greatly extended our home network's signal range! We get pretty much perfect signal anywhere on the property, at full download speeds. Since we're already using one of the Asus gaming routers, setting up the network for Asus's AiMesh was also much, much less of a pain in the butt than any other alternative we've tried so far.

The MESH technology works great. I get over 100Mbps everywhere in my home. the setup was simple and manual setting required for older router technologies like defining IP ranges were all automatic. I highly recommend MESH technology routers.

These are excellent little routers, I have coverage all over the house and I get the internet speed I'm paying for with these even on wifi! The nodes and router also have an Ethernet port on them that work well.

I used all 3 as mesh with a GT-AC5300, have PERFECT signals for over 100 items all around the house and yards! And they are not eyesores either! Pleasant looking, very easy to set up, and excellent range!
