Huge Improvement

My speeds went up at least 10x just as a drop in replacement. Having the future ability to run AX is just icing on the cake. It does not have tri-band but a dedicated 5ghz backend does not help that much for most residential users. If you need a faster backend, just run Cat6 cables to the nodes and save hundreds over tri-band. Great system, which cannot be recommended enough!

This one has the option to enable legacy 2.4Ghz channel for these devices to connect to and it works great. Speeds are great over Wi-Fi with my 1gig Suddenlink service. I have the satellite ones wired, back haul. So I can't comment on the total wireless mesh. As mesh access points they are awesome.

Great Coverage and Compatibility

I had the network up and running in 10 minutes. Coverage has been great. I purchased this mesh system specifically because it has always been difficult to extend WiFi throughout our house and the Zen supports wiring the nodes together -- but the coverage is so good with these that I didn't have to run cable. They also work great with all of our devices. The Netgear Nighthawk 3 pack I tried first oddly didn't support streaming to our Android devices.

I think it's best to use this dual band system in wired backhaul. So if you can wire these up as an ethernet backhaul, then it'll be great for most houses. In my case, I planned to use these as AI mesh nodes for the Zenwifi XT8s but I couldnt get all of them wired due to limitations of my network set up. 1 out of the 3 nodes were wired the other two were set up as a wireless backhaul. I was disappointed with the performance. The two that were wirelessly connected had frequent issues with the wifi signal where it would cause issues to connectivity to the devices that were connected to them. So I ended up returning the XD4s and bought a different AI mesh capable router and kept my XT8s as wired nodes for that single router. The XD4s is still a good system but not for my needs.

I used the AC1900 ASUS before upgrading to this wifi6. For a 2,900 sq ft home it works great. Also to mention it has ports on each unit in the back for you to use direct LAN cords. I have gig internet service and these units are pulling around 936 mbps download. It’s worth the money and way better vs NETGEAR Nighthawk Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 System (I bought this one first and returned back to Costco)

Also never was able to get more than 500mbps on wifi or 750 on wired. My intenet from my switch is 900-1000

WiFi Coverage Galore!!!

This purchase solved our problem after buying two network extenders and a new modem/router combo. I was able to take all of that stuff back because these bad boys can cover a wide range! You get the 2.4 and 5GHZ bands all running on WiFi 6! My Ring security camera doesn’t have any more problems due to poor signal either!
