Wanted a mesh setup since my modem is in the basement and works great, haven't had any random disconnects and speeds are great. Range is nice having the main mesh in the basement and the other mesh(node) upstairs to cover the whole house with great speeds. Can connect 2 ethernet cables to the nodes for more speed and reliability

Did a lot of research before investing in this one. Needed to get full house coverage for up to 4 people streaming simultaneously, on multiple devises. Getting the full internet speed over WiFi. Does a great job. Worth the investment.

So far these have been outstanding!! We are cord cutting because DirectTV is too expensive for the quality of service (too many fake channels that are just “Buy Now” channels. YouTube TV is much much cheaper and easier to find what you want to watch. These routers (2) have solved a lot of our dead spot and random coverage issues. (Previously has LinkSys Velop).

This router is not for anyone that is not technical, I would suggest getting the NEST router if you want a extremely simple setup. My wifi 6 clients are all getting 500-700mbs throughput, depending on distance. There are very little in the way of setup instructions and you must dig into the options and do some tweaking to get the best performance. In my opinion this is the best WIFI Mesh product for the price.

I replaced an older 3 node linksys mesh with the ASUS zen mesh. I was nervous since I had a linksys node on every floor of my house and the ASUS only came with 2 nodes. I put both ASUS nodes on my main floor and the signal is awesome. No issues, speed is great, I have the Fios 1 gig.

This is hands down the best router setup that I've ever experienced. It covers our house and exterior deck perfectly with the fastest performance to date, even for non-WIFI 6 devices its improved service.

I hint haunted around as to whether I should buy this system or not because it is very expensive. I have 31 devices in my house. Including 11 cameras. I have around 2500 square-foot house. My farthest two cameras were always sketchy and I could never depend upon them. Everything else seem to be fine as I had an ASUS RT AC66R router which pretty much handled the load. Every so often it would buffer because I thought I had too many things on the system. So I installed this new mesh ASUS - ZenWiFi AX Wireless-AX Wi-Fi Router. Had a couple issues in the beginning but just restarted the router. I have had it four months now and not one issue. The two far away cameras have super strong signals now. I am extremely pleased with this outfit. I like how you can manually determine what device you want on which box. You can have it automatically do it also. I give this mesh system two thumbs up.

I'd say it's a work in progress. Great mesh system. All the features I'd want except it's missing build in Speed Test like TP-Links and Netgear. (Built in test, tests your internet to router speed, not the client). Firmware still buggy. Once I started turning on QoS and Parental Controls, it started slowing way down. From 900Mbps down to less than 50Mbps. Once they address all the issues it will be a perfect wifi 6 mesh for the $$$.

Pros: Great speed and coverage, easy setup, and ability to tweak lots of settings (650MBPS on gigabit about 40 feet away) Cons: Tweaking settings are required and connection can drop/be inconsistent often. These would probably be phenomenal with a wired backhaul. Honestly, Wifi 6 is just underwhelming in preformance. 6E is the future. But, for now, these do the best job for the price. I had tried Orbi and Eeros. Eeros are my second fav. Orbi had great reliability but speed was a lack luster. Eeros had by far the eaisest setup, they just didn't work nativly with century link, these Asus ones do. The Asus just has a really cool UI if you are into tweaking things. By far the best Web UI I have ever seen for a router, and it is quick. That being said, if you want to just set it and forget it, this is not the product for you, go for the Eeros. If you like to tweak, and get the best performance for your specific application, get these. They are extremely versatile but do have their own drawbacks.

The system was easy to set up and the connection is very stable between stations. I had a lot of issues with my older generation Asus routers that I set up as a mesh network. With this upgrade my signal weakness problem is gone and there are no more drops while switching between stations.

Needed 3 for a 5000 square foot house, sometimes things drop off the network, especially 2.4ghz items, but not enough to be horrible-seems to be around the time there is an update. Get good speeds off of it though.

Best quality and value for high demand smart homes

I've had Google Home during the 1st and 2nd Generation. It's easy to set up and runs smooth enough, but as my broadband and smart home demands increased, Google Home became increasingly problematic. The 2 mesh nodes kept losing connection and continued to need to be reset. I upgraded to Netgear Orbi AX6000 but tbh, it was terrible to set up, the app was lackluster, and I found myself not seeing the value for the price. The Asus XT8 AX6600 was easy, connectivity was instant, the app is rich and full of feature, easy to read and look at, highly functional, and the performance improvement was noticeable instantly. For the price, it's a quality and value buy. I have my Google Home Wifi 3 node set for sale on OfferUp and returned the Netgear Orbi AX6000.

    Super Powerful Mesh System

Dramatically increased my WiFi connectivity at home! I previously used Google's mesh system and was not happy with the throughput speeds of my connections around the house and was looking for an alternative solution. My research led me to the ASUS ZenWiFi Tri-Band Mesh system. I've previously had excellent experiences with ASUS routers and was confident this would not let me down. Had it installed for a few months now it has not disappointed! In fact, I'm so happy with this setup that I installed this at a client's dental office because their previous configuration was limited due to the lead lined walls because of the x-ray machine. Being able to hard-wire the backlink between access points gives them complete coverage throughout the office with absolutely no signal strength degradation!

Overall everything was easy to setup and faster than ever speeds but the unit I use as my node will randomly power off and I will have to unplug and plug it back in in order to get the node to power back on. Don’t know if this is a defect or firmware related

I have not done any configuration beyond plugging them in and hooking one up to the FiOS router via Cat5e, yet it is fast, stable (not 100% but close), has very good range: 4500 sf over three finished levels, plus outside in the yard. Very pleased.

Tripled my Wi-Fi speeds compared to my ISP’s router and no dead spots. Extremely easy to manage my many multiple devices. Easy to use parental controls also makes limiting screen time a breeze.

I'm uncertain of scoring this equipment that is, admittedly, overkill in my application. I justify it because I needed >100Mbps at my most distal system 60ft and 3-4 walls from a primary router. The mesh cuts out 1 wall and ~30ft. Speed (250Mbps) is up on those systems by 2x to 20x; yes it's a bit flakey back there, and 5-star performance. I performed the firmware update and clients like my thermostat appear as offline on the ASUS phone app, but they show all bars and respond to remote use. Another reviewer mentions this problem and I agree it is fatal, and 1-star performance. On average, that is 3-stars performance, but the fatal performance overrides if uncorrected.

Perfect speeds throughout my two story house, however if you have a lot of walls you may need to add another 2 nodes to cover the whole home. However what concerns me is memory usage is super high on these if you have over 25 devices connected

I switched from a Netgear Orbi RBK23 mesh system to the Asus XT8 and it is a noticeable difference. I have not experienced and disconnects/drops from my devices and I can separate the bands which I believe was a factor in drops on some of my devices. I recently upped my internet to gig and this handles it very well. My wifi 5 (AC) devices can usually get about 400 Mbps with other devices using bandwidth, My wifi 6 device can get over 600 Mbps. A couple items of note: After updating the firmware, make sure to hard reset both routers. Also make sure you update the network adapter drivers in your computer(s), they may not connect unless you do. Using Speedtest.net may be misleading if you allow it to automatically select your server, you need to try a few, one can give you 150 Mbps and another can give you 500 Mbps.
