WiFi 6 System Works Great
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the Asus XT8 router pair earlier this month when it was in stock for a nano second. Set up was easy and coverage in my 4 bedroom colonial is excellent; no dead spots anymore. Wifi speeds upstairs have improved from 200 to 800 on my Xfinity Gigabit service. Overall very pleased.

Good, not perfect.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, so good. Had connection issues at first but I think I’ve figured it out. I still don’t understand why sometimes I could be right next to the node and my phone connects to the main router instead. Speed is ok but I worry about how the signal will carry to my basement once I’m done remodeling. I wish this came as a tri-pack.

Almost but not quite
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research before trying the Asus ZenWiFi system, from forums, user reviews to YouTube videos. I narrowed it down, purchased the system and brought it home. Just to add some background, I do IT and network infrastructure for mobile environments for a living, so setting up a home network is straightforward for me and usually no big deal…enter ZenWiFi. Upon unboxing, downloading the Asus app and getting started, the frustration began. Multiple times it would not acknowledge the second unit and would require a hard reset on both devices. Then, once the system was set, the app would kick me out and ask me to sign back in. To my surprise, after entering the correct password, it would lock my account…hard reset again. Finally, I got both units set, no more password issues and things were running smoothly. So, I looked into the QoS settings, used the Bind feature to “suggest” that devices connect to a specific node, etc. This is when my network speed took a nosedive and required what? A hard reset. My home is hardwired for Ethernet backhaul and I figured the tri-band would be great for using the second 5GHz band for streaming on my TV’s. I found spotty results, dropped connections and inconsistent speeds. I read reviews stating that this system is more for wireless backhaul and using it in a wired setting could cause issues. The speeds on the 2.4GHz and the first 5GHz bands are nothing spectacular, so I was really hoping for the second 5GHz band to function properly. I also noticed that my RAM was frequently maxed out or close to it in 5r high 400’s, with really no load on the units. I ended up returning the ZenWiFi system and replacing it with the Asus RT-AX86U dual node system, since I liked the idea of the AiMesh so much (really just a router and AP system). While it may be only a dual band system, the speeds of both the 2.4 GHz and the 5GHz bands are faster and they function flawlessly on my wire backhaul setup. My network connection speeds have not only stabilized, but increased significantly from the ZenWiFi system. I’ve had no strange hard reset issues, drops, decreased speeds or any of the issues I had with ththe ZenWiFi. I also have twice the RAM and am no where near being maxed out. So, I’m thankful for trying this system as it showed me what I wanted, but guided me in another direction and I’m very happy with my current setup.

Super fast, super efficient
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Incredibly fast and efficient set. The mesh networks always work well for us and this was an upgrade from Google WiFi. Was a bit worried only have two units but it works very well in our home. Fastest speeds we’ve ever gotten too.

Gig-speed distribution!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My house had dead spots and slow zones with the existing Xfinity wireless router. I shut their Wi-Fi down and easily installed this system. Now, speeds are universally faster and i couldn’t be more satisfied.

Good mesh router
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a single story house with interior brick walls, so even having our previous router in the center of the house wasn't enough. Installing these two solved the problem Great coverage now. Although beware if you're online gaming, it can drop you as you move from one node to the other.

WiFi Mesh Does the Job
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did the job with great coverage throughout large house. Lost internet connection first day but no longer a problem with internet connection after firmware update. Doing the job I expected for a WiFi 6 device.

Excellent router with wireless and wired options.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a tri-level home with a basement. I ran cables from our old router to our desktop PCs and our smart TV so I didn't need strong Wi-Fi until now. My kids started using laptops and Chromebooks so I had to upgrade. Since I already had cable runs, the ASUS ZenWIFI AX Router with the multiple ports were perfect for our situation. I connected the two ASUS units by cable on different levels of the house and connected the cables from our desktops PCs and the TV to the two ASUS units. We are now getting wifi speeds of 340+ Mbps throughout the house with no dead spots. The price is very reasonable for such good performance.

Good but still expensive.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Router was easy to set up and provides good coverage for the house. They are all expensive these days but I get better 5ghz coverage than my older AC-88U.

Worth the price
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stable and fast. I am using wireless backhaul and the speeds impress. Constantly low ping times no matter what unit my devices are connected to. Switching between units is seamless when wandering the house.

Not cheap but high quality mesh router
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Powerful mesh WiFi router that does a great job in 3 story townhome. On a 600 mbps dowload and 12 mbps upload internet plan, I routinely get 500+ mbps download and 10+ mbps upload speed in the two floors that have the routers. The bottom floor of the townhome (which did not get internet on previous setup) routinely gets 200+ mbps download and 8+ mbps upload speeds. Make sure you really need a mesh router system before buying though. There are cheaper options if you don't really have a need to go with the more expensive mesh routers. But if you do need a mesh router, this is a great option if you are interested in paying a bit more to get a more premium experience.

So far, so good.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, so good. Much faster than older NetGear router. Did require use of Ethernet to improve connectivity of nodes and backhaul. Bought a 3rd one to address some dead spots.

Did not pair with node
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked incredibly well as one router. It would not pair the node which is the only reason to buy a 2 pack. For $400 pairing with the node should work flawlessly. After resetting both routers, factory resetting, and reconfiguring 3 times the node is still not recognized. Get this only as the 1 pack and you will probably be blown away by the speeds.
