My previous was WiFi 5 routers and I would see 500-600 max download, but I was getting a lot of disconnects on my VPN for remote work. The new routers are giving me faster speeds, better coverage and I’ve had zero disconnects of my vpn. The previous routers were older, one as much as 10-11 years old, so they were due for a change. I followed the setup using the ASUS app and had no issues. I am not a tech person, I hope these last forever so I don’t need to fool with WiFi again, but chances are I’ll replace them in the future with whatever ASUS system is current.

I'm returning these tomorrow after seven weeks of use. I have checked firmware updates and have performed restarts. I have one in a basement, another on our main floor and another in the garage. I have set it up so that the basement is the primary router, the one on our mainfloor is ethernet backhaul to the basement and the garage is wifi meshed from our mainfloor. These devices get confused all the time. I have spent the last hour trying to keep my PC which is 10 feet away from our basement router on the basement router. It cannot and will not and neither will some of my apple devices. They connect to my mainfloor router which is over three times the distance away and a fraction of the signal strength - yet, even when I bind the devices, the router won't let them connect. I gave up Ubiquiti's Amplifi Alien's for these. I'll be returning these first thing and finding another router set.

We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing connection problem. To resolve the unstable connection, please verify the PC or device connecting to the router is working properly and within range to the router, the router is within 30 feet to the ISP's modem, if not wired by a network cable, and ISP's internet service or connection is working properly or stable. Furthermore, check if the security credentials from your ISP matches the routers' credentials. Additionally, place the routers in a central location within your home, away from walls and obstructions, keep it elevated off the floor and away from electronic devices that may cause interference.
Legacy devices may not work properly with WIFI6e, please check updates for these device. Also, try connecting this manually to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz.

The through speed matches my Internet speed. The web interface is better than the app. Setup was a bit troublesome initially but after a hard reset the second attempt was smooth.

Initial implementation had devices updating firmware so it had taken a little longer to set up then intended. After set up, devices worked flawlessly, range is perfect and exactly what I needed. Terrible product and support

ASUS support was horrible. They offered to get me new ones, but admitted there were none in stock, could not tell me when they were going to be in stock, and at the earliest it would be 3-4 weeks. And what was I supposed to do for a network in the meantime? They could not say. Sticking your finger in an electrical socket while standing barefoot in a puddle of water is less painful than dealing with there duplicitous cretins. DO NOT BUY ASUS PRODUCTS.

We do understand your disappointment with these Mesh routers and the inconvenience this may have caused if they stop connecting less than 11 months of usage. To resolve this issue, try to power cycle the router and your ISP's modem. After doing a power cycle, check if security settings on these router and your modem are still the same. If these steps were performed to no avail, perform a hard factory reset and manually reconfigured your Mesh routers. Also, we recommend updating the Mesh router firmware if it is running with an older version. Firmware is available for download at: https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/whole-home-mesh-wifi-system/zenwifi-wifi-systems/asus-zenwifi-axe7800/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=ASUS-ZenWiFi-AXE7800. If still the same problem, we recommend sendingn these router for warranty service. An RMA number is required to send it in for service. Good when it's working

The big problem I have with this is how unreliable it is. Constantly disconnecting and trying to re-establish connection between the units. Lose wifi even when in the same room as the unit that's hardwired in. From reading up more about these it sounds like this is a common problem.

It didn’t go that way. Long story short. Wifi signal would drop at random times. Held on to them for 10 days and decided to exchange for a different mesh system. Im glad I did. I went with the TP Link Deco BE11000 wifi7 system.
