Replaced an eero 6e router that was 6 months old and continually dropped service and ran hot. Asus router was recommended by son who is IT expert at major Oil and Gas company. Easy setup and works great. One note, if you have a Sonos speaker system and have multiple zones, you will have to enable multicast which is not easy to find. Search the manual for multicast and it will guide you to the location to enable the function.

Setup 3 nodes with AT&T 2gb Fiber. Mesh setup with 2.5 gbs backhaul using cat6 ethernet. Every node gets a full 2gb to the internet with zero disruption and zero latency. Absolutly flawless home internet setup. ASUS software is one of the best for home network setups.

Worst Decision

This is the worst decision I’ve ever made in terms of home networking equipment. On paper, this sounds like it would be an absolutely phenomenal product. But unfortunately it’s not.
I have 2 gig internet set up properly. (I cannot stress this enough) IP Passthrough, 2.5 Ethernet port, WiFi disabled from gateway, etc. I’ve been doing this a long time.
But something is seriously wrong with this mesh system. At times, it just works with no issues. On WiFi I get 1.4-1.5 gbps. Never seen WiFi this amazing. Ethernet devices getting up to a gig. So the speed is there.
But that is where the good ends. I for the life of me cannot figure out why this mesh system constantly disconnects. I don’t mean the nodes stop working or anything. Clearly have the white lights on but it’s like multiple times a day the internet just stops working. Your shows start to buffer. Your phone acts like it has no connection. And then all of a sudden it’s all good again. It does this multiple times a day.
I figured maybe it’s just software of maybe there’s an issue with my internet. I moved 1 month later after buying this system to a new place with even better internet.
For reference, first place had Gig +. This new place has 2 gig. I also turned in my gateway and got a new one.
Without a doubt I am having the same issues even here. It is 110% this system and I’m so disappointed. I should have NEVER traded in the Orbi for this system and and now I’m stuck since I’m past my return policy.
Best Buy PLEASE help me this one time do an extended return. This is a terrible product. Please look at the forums. There are loads and loads of people having this same issue with the BE14000 system. I would highly recommend shelving this one. It’s not good.

I bought this product for one of my clients, and it is really amazing. It covers the whole office, 2200 sqft, and the signal is very strong. We had almost one gig of download speed.

Beware: currently does not work with Verizon FIOS 1 Gigabit service. Upload speed will be very slow although download is fine. Works beautifully on Xfinity 1 Gigabit service, confirmed by my own experience. Unconfirmed internet research indicates it may be fine on Verizon 2 Gigabit.

Easy to install and super fast. App is great and you have more customization than with lower end units.
Reason for 4 stars is you don't have the ability to record data usage by device. Can see real time and very recent down/upload data but with my previous Google WiFi I could see the past week's daily data usage by device which I really liked and would have expected with such an expensive router.

Absolutely amazing speeds with no hardwire back haul. Super easy to set up. Integrated perfectly with my XT8 unit. My house is 5000 sq feet and I am getting great speeds in every room. I have 1 XT8 unit which I paired with this systems to cover my back deck area. Highly recommend this system

Setting them up is fairly easy, but I've gone through two sets of these routers, and I've had the same issue on both. When they work the way they're intended, the speed and connection is rock solid. Unfortunately, I have had issues with the nodes losing connection to the main unit unless I use a wired back haul connection, which is slower than what it would be if they were connecting properly. On top of that, even with an IoT network, devices seem to struggle to stay connected to wifi, with google home mini's, computers, phones, and quest devices constantly disconnecting and requiring full reboots just to connect again.

Dear Logan,
Thank you for your comment.
We do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing drop wireless connection. To resolve this connection issue, place the Mesh routers in a central location within your home, away from walls and obstructions, keep it elevated off the floor and away from electronic devices that may cause interference. Legacy devices may not work properly with WIFI-6e and WIFI-7, please check updates for these device. Also, try connecting this manually to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Furthermore, we recommend updating the Mesh router firmware if running with an older version. Firmware is available for download at: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/zenwifi%20be14000/helpdesk_bios/. Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help. Or you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent from the link: https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/1135/.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

Previously I had the Netgear Orbi 850 (3 pack). Had nothing but problems with the router and nodes. I had everything backhauled, but once the router updated firmware the network would shutdown, there was some issue with node firmware not matching router and they were never in sync. Long story short, after 3 years of this I switched over to ASUS and have had 0 issues. The app and functionality is great, no monthly fees either, and the support of wifi 7 is excellent!

It was very easy to set up, and the coverage is great in my split-level house. The app is intuitive and easy to use. I like that I can optimize different devices or the whole network. I also like the parental control feature. It's especially good if you use Apple's Screen Time system to manage device usage. This fills in the gaps with that solution.
If you want something you can set up easily and not have to think much about, this is good.
