I replaced a single ASUS WIFI Router with these. I moved to a house with multiple stories and roughly 4000 sq. feet and a basement. The telecom connection connection being in the basement, the router I was replacing did not cover the house and barely covered the first floor. I looked to these with a bit of skepticism to cover the entire house. I first installed one in the basement, and just to see if it would coverthe house, I walked around with the laptop and got good result with jus one. Where before I got 10-30 mb p/sec with just one, I was now getting nearly 100 mb p/sec WITH JUST ONE, and it nearly covered the entire house. I connected the second, put it on the first floor and now I get 300 mb p/sec over the entire house. Works perfectly and with multiple devices all over the house and multiple users including a gamer. I am impressed and would puchase ASUS mesh units again.

I purchased the Deco XE75 Pro first but my Ecobee 3lite thermostat would constantly disconnect and reconnect to the network. Without getting to detail on that I decided to try the XT9. Doesn’t require an apple to setup the router and you have more control over individual settings. I want to separate the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks which the XT9 allows me to do so I’m not using the Smart Connect feature. Roaming between nodes works pretty good for me with default settings. The only issue I have found is the WAN connections upload speed is about 1/3 what it should be when measured from the ASUS internet speed test built into the router, from a wired device plugged directly into the main router and from a computer plugged directly into the ONT (Cspire1Gb fiber). I should average approx 900 down and 940 up. I used a 8port netgear unmanaged switch, plugged the ONTand the XT9 WAN port into it, now both up and down load speeds are what they should be. I did do all the troubleshooting steps you constantly see online, swapped out patch cables, rebooted both router and ONT, reset the router and set back up from scratch, upgraded the firmware, etc. under normal circumstances I would have returned this router for this issue but unfortunately I passed my return by date. That being said I don’t mind having the switch between the router and the ONT and everything else works good enough for me. Plus I really like having control over hardware settings that are harder and harder to find in a Mesh system. Plus no account required with Asus to setup and use. I would recommend but only after pointing out the WAN port upload speed problem the router has. Final verdict, I like the product, works good in my environment, but there does seem to be a hardware incompatibility issue with the WAN port. Is that’s the router or ONT’s fault????? BTW, setting up without using an app on your phone and adding USB hardrive to use for Time Machine backups was easy.

Perfect for boosting fiber optic network

We switched to fiber optic internet two months ago and purchased these soon after. They were easy to install and have only dropped a signal when our wireless router did so. Because our fios is fairly new to the area, this happens for a few minutes a day but generally doesn’t bother as much as the poor signals of prior providers. With the mesh system, all parts of a 4000 sq foot house are covered. Given we have 1000/1000 up and down, with the mesh system it never falls below 500/500 anywhere in the house and when connected I can often times still get the signal in my back yard, even thirty feet from the house. If you stream, game, or video conference and want to not be limited to vicinity to your router, this is a great purchase.

*Upgrading* from a nighthawk x4s. Honestly the nighthawk was better all around. The mesh network consistently loses connection with the satellite unit. When the router works out works well but the only easy I've found to get it to work well is by power cycling the network once a week.

The router is easy to set up and use, thanks to the AiMesh feature that allows you to create a seamless network with compatible Asus routers. You can also use the MyAsus app to manage your network settings, monitor your network performance, and access additional features such as VPN, QoS, and guest network

This was the easiest and quickest setup process I’ve ever had with a router. I expected improvements over my old router, but this far exceeded what I had hoped for in a network for my new fiber installation. Asus makes an amazing product.

Best network security of any router brand! Don’t be fooled by others claiming to have security. They don’t get regular firmware updates when hackers attack! The mesh system is the easiest to setup I have ever seem.

Love this AI mesh system and the app. Everything works really well, and the connection/signal strength is great all over the house and even in the garage/outside. Have cameras and such running off wifi, so this system is great if you have a lot of devices in various areas of the house. You can bind devices as well, which i did with my security system devices. You can also monitor any devices connected to your wifi. A lot of cool features i still need to mess around with. Way better than any router I’ve ever bought.

One of the devices failed and ASUS replaced it with no problems. Unfortunately, a few weeks later the replacement also started failing every time there was an update and had to be reset, reconnected and upgraded manually. I probably just had bad luck and would probably still recommend.

Easy initial setup but it takes a minute to fully set up if you have several nodes and a lot of connected devices. I was a little worried about some of the network drops at first until I worked with the features. IP and AP binding eliminates drops if you take the time to do it.

Solid wireless for 2600sqft home with better WiFi reception in outdoor patio next to house. Replaced a Xfinity wireless router because its range was limited. Put Xfinity into bridge mode and after fanagling with manually IP'ing a desktop to communicate with the Asus router was able to get it going. Remember to reboot/power off Xfinity router when changing mode as it clears any MAC cache. Happy with the advanced features. Had to turn off advanced triband features to get some older WiFi devices online then turned them back on. Overall very happy with range and devices seamlessly jump to closest access point.

Delivers as promoted. Replacing 10 yr old Verizon FIOS router in 3k sf 2-story wood frame, 2x base strength within 50 ft, 4x within 100 ft - mesh 2nd unit triples base distance. No discernible lag through mesh. App tool works well snd intuitively (with familiarity). No caveats to recommending - excellent performance for value.

This mesh router system lives up to the hype

Dare I say that this mesh system lives up to the hype? Yes, it does! I've been playing around with home networking for 20 years. In the last 5 years or so, I've tried a number of different mesh systems. Some were dual band and a few tri band. I've always run into a problems, however. Sometimes the setup was so simple, but the system just didn't deliver whether it was throughput or range. Some systems were just downright crap to set up and failed to stay connected or had devices just randomly drop off. I YouTube'd a lot of mesh wifi systems and the Asus XT9 would come up often and almost every review as positive. I couldn't tell what was accurate or truthful and so I decided to buy it myself and test it out. I have to say that the real world use is the best mesh wifi router I've ever set up. The only issue I had was upon the initial setup where the main router found new firmware and updated but the second node did not update to the newest firmware and the node disconnected. I had to reset the node and then it finally connected. The range is very good and I can get a decent signal almost 100 feet away from the main router outside my house. When inside my 2800 square foot house, I'm getting very close to my 300/300 speeds on wifi. The network hasn't disconnected and I have close to 50 devices connected. The app is very good and the web interface is great. So many ways to view all of the options this system has.
