I decided to try out an iPhone 5 that a friend gave to me. It is locked to AT&T. I was able to get things working and a new phone number online in about 10 minutes.

So far the prepaid service I purchased for my sons phone has been excellent. It works on the at&t network with no problems thus far.

Parents do not use any data whatsoever, so this route worked great for their flip phones.

I needed a phone service from at&t as I would be in an area where my phone service is not available. Went to best buy explain my situation, they set it up for me and I was able to go on my business trip, take care of my business and be in contact with my family.

Works perfectly, great price. Best Buy employee took care of install and explained everything clearly to someone who has never used a prepaid account before. I started with the least expensive card to just get an idea of how much or fast I would use it.

My son was looking for a card to refill his minutes. Neither Walmart or Walgreens had any in stock. I knew that Best Buy would have them and I was right. The easy to use card was exactly what he needed to keep his phone in service.

I bought my first cell phone and needed something to get it activated. Having hotspot capability included was a big plus as I wanted backup internet connectivity for when the cable TV / internet goes down. After deciding the phone was a keeper, I wanted to transfer my AT&T landline number. The run-around started in my local AT&T store where I encountered almost complete indifference. An attempt to get customer service via the pre-paid account left the impression that we aren't allowed to talk to humans. I did get to humans via my land-line account, but while the chat operators seemed willing to help, they didn't have the answer and I kept getting handed off. The third or fourth one finally had the 800 number I needed, and I got it done after about an hour of work. I'm not too distressed, though, as I've signed up for auto-pay. Bottom line - 1 GB isn't a lot but I'm hoping that bumping up the limit in abnormal months won't be too hard.

In between jobs, now have home phone, however, I must leave home to find work. So that means, you're on the go, you need your cell phone working. The reassurance that Best Buy will have your plan for an affordable price always, gives you that calm.

I bought my phone unlocked, and needed to start the service. I chose AT&T because it works where I live. When I got home I signed up for automatic renewal and saved an additional $5 per month. Just what I needed in a service and am very pleased.
