phone is very straightforward right out of the box. The screen is easy to read and the buttons are big so it's great for those who may have trouble seeing. It's programmable for your most used numbers and is capable of two phone lines. I use it for work and love it! And the price is great!

Good phone, but call history feature is inadequate

The overall features of this phone are good, but I am not satisfied with the call history feature. Before purchasing this model I used an ATT 825 speakerphone with a separate caller ID box. If the green light on the caller ID box was blinking, I was alerted that someone tried to call. After many years of reliable service, the caller ID box needed replacement because the display was fading. I opted to replace this with the ATT 17929 phone with a built in caller ID. This is my main phone, but I have a separate answering machine. The problem is that when the phone rings and the answering machine is activated, the screen does not show this as a "new call" to be reviewed, because it has already been responded to by the answering machine. Therefore, I am not aware of any new call activity unless I make the effort to see if there were any recent entries to the call history log. It was so much easier in the past to glance at my caller ID box and look for the blinking green light.

I purchased this phone so my elderly Mother just had to push one button to call her family. We liked it so much when the previous one wore out we searched to find this one.

More than I thought it would be. I’m hard hearing and wear hearing aids. It’s best if I can use a speakerphone. This one is good. Also my sister and brother like to talk together - a three way. This one does well.

This is a pretty good landline phone. My grand parents needed one to use outside of the country, it works pretty good and I can hear them clearly.

Bought it for the headset feature, but I couldn't to get it to work with my headset. Appears you need a "special headset." So, I gave up and returned it. Phone was for a senior. So, the big buttons were a plus. Phone also felt lightweight.

Not compatible with Vtech Cordless Headset

This is a fine product. However, it is not compatible with the Vtech IS6200 DECT 6.0 Accessory Cordless Headset I purchased online at the same time, 03/25/2020. I purchased the VTech Wireless Headset Silver because it was displayed with the AT&T AT ML17929 Corded Phone and described as an item often purchased with the corded phone. However, this particular phone does not have built-in the wireless capability this particular headset requires. Because I am teleworking and using the phone to answer dozens of call per day that have been routed to it from Seattle Housing Authority's main telephone switchboard, I really need to swap this phone out for one that supports this wireless headset. But, COVID-19 restrictions are making that a difficult proposition.

While the is generally good. As mentioned by a few reviews I get a buzz on the second line. I was able to get the buzz out using copiers as line one and 2 have conductor requirements. All was fine until I unplugged from the wall. Once I plugged it back in the buzz returned. It is annoying but my primary line is fine.

For now we're using this 2 line phone with only 1 line. Even for this purpose, it is an excellent phone with many very useful and, in some cases, unusual features. Thank you!

The audio/voice quality is very good. The caller-id meets standard although it is hard to access. The large buttons and numbers are really functional and added value to the telephone.

    1) There is no message waiting indicator other than a busy sound when you pick up the receiver. 2) When you're on a call and you get another call, the screen does not light making it impossible to view who's calling. 3) Programming is extremely easy.
