The best feature in this phone is the Smart Call Blocker! It took a little time to enter in Allowed Callers and Callers from the Directory, but it's worth it. I haven't yet had to add any numbers to the Blocked list because the Smart Call blocker system by itself works very well. There is a bit of a learning curve, but once I was familiar with the way the Smart Call Blocker System works, I was very happy.

Good quality handsets. Really lightweight and keys and screen light up in amber color. One thing though, the Base Station does not hole the handset securly. It falls out easily. Otherwise Great Buy. Owned for almost 1 month.

This phone is much better than my other one. Calls do not cut out like before. I thought it was the carrier but it was the other phone. Very good buy and would buy again.

This is a list of some of the features we find particularly useful (or potentially useful).
1. Handset keypad numbers and display characters are large and easily read, and sound quality is very good.
2. Any handset can access all system functions.
3. Handsets can call any other handset with an intercom feature.
4. Each handset's ring volume and tone can be adjusted individually, and can be set individually to not ring (stay "quite") for a period of time.
5. We can purchase and add additional handsets to the 4 which come with the system.
6. Existing telephones work along side (but are not controlled by) the system. We have several corded telephones which will work even if the electricity goes out.
7. We can choose how the system will process various types of callers:
(a) Callers who are not already added to one of the system's several lists will hear an informative message and are asked to press the # key to prove the call is not a robocall (for those undesired calls from a live caller we can press the CALL BLOCK button on the handset to block future calls from that number);
(b) Callers already added to the system's "Directory" (50 entries) are not intercepted;
(c) Callers already added to the "Allow" (200 entries) list are passed through (no challenge);
(d) Callers already added to the "Block" (1,000 entries) list are rejected with block announcement and no option to press the # key;
(e) A "Star" (10 names) list is for those callers such as schools and health care providers who use the same caller name but more than one telephone number.
8. Using the CID list feature of the last 50 callers, the caller's name and telephone number can easily be added to the system "Directory" or one of the other lists.

Nice replacement for previous AT&T wireless phones

Would have given 4-1/2 stars but that wasn’t an option! This phone replaces my 8 year old AT&T wireless phones that still worked great but were starting to act wonky. These phones also work great. Super range…took them out 160’ from base station (end of our driveway) and they still worked great. The sophisticated call screening capabilities are impressive but the directions were too intimidating to tackle, so just stayed with the minimum (default) call screening to be able to hear the message being left on the machine. So far so good. The only feature that seemed a little worse than the old model is the volume on the answering machine base station. Raising the volume increases the ringer and message volume together and at max volume the message being recording is still too low and the ringer is obnoxiously loud! Wish the ringer and message volume were either better matched or had independent controls. Still - overall great phone and a good value for 4 handset capability.

An outstanding cordless phone and answering system

This four handset answering system is another outstanding product from AT&T and their manufacture in Indonesia. The CL82407 replaces our AT&T SL82318/three handset system we have used these past 15 to 20 years. The system held up well, and we only needed to replace the three rechargeable batteries four times. However, over the last few years it has become more difficult for my wife and me to see the black text on the dark gray display screen of this old model. Also, the side mounted volume control on some handsets stopped working. Our new CL82407 system has all the “bells and whistles” anyone could wish for; all of which are explained in the User Manual’s 111 pages. My wife and I like this system because the keys on the handset are easy to see, the display screen has a white background allowing the black text to be easily read, and the volume control is on the front of the handset. Also, the “Smart Call Blocking” feature is great. Even though we are on the government’s “NO CALL” list we normally get 5 to 8 scam calls a day Monday through Friday, and 3 to 5 calls Saturday and Sunday. This CL82407 system has effectively eliminated 98% of these calls. However, you must carefully read the User’s Manual to prevent deleting computerized calls you wish to receive, such as from your medical doctor. Well done AT&T!

I purchased this for my Dad. It has nice large buttons which is great for him. I have a different model then this and I like this model because it seems easier to use for him and has speed dial which for some horrible reason mine does not. The Smart call blocking is the best thing since peanut butter:) I tell everyone about it.
The only bad thing with this model is that it only holds 50 names in the directory.. that is totally ridiculous... luckily that was fine for my 89 year old Dad but would not be OK for everyone else..

I am so glad that we replaced our cordless phones with these. The call block feature really cuts down on the number of spam calls, which in itself is worth switching to these. The fact that you can get your answering machine messages from any of the phones is wonderful! I can hear the caller clearly and the volume is perfect, and can be adjusted. You can still have landlines plugged into the phone jacks and it doesn't cause any problems. If someone is calling that I know is a junk call, I can press Call Block, the button on the bottom, and it is blocked permanently. What a pleasure!

AT&T - CL82407 DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone

I purchased the "AT&T - CL82407 DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone System with Digital Answering System and Smart Call Blocker - Silver/black" to replace my 9 year old AT&T cordless phone. This phone has alot of features so the instructions can be a little overwhelming because there is alot of reading, but it was easy to set up. There are different options for blocking calls, but I just let the call ring through to the answering machine and if I don't recognize the person calling, I don't answer it. Then when I review the "missed call" later, I will add it to my "Block List" if it is spam. I love that the Block List holds up to 1000 entries. I also like the intercom feature where you can call from one phone to another phone in another room at the touch of a button. I am very pleased with this cordless phone system.

Good sound but some little inconveniences

Overall, a good phone for sound, which is IMPORTANT. However, little bothersome inconveniences that are puzzling as to why, at this stage of phone mfg. My complaints? Here's a few: personal phone directory only holds 50 nbrs.; the bases for all the phones they sit in are a little unsteady so you're never quite sure when you place the phone down on the base if it's placed properly - wobbles a little bit when sitting on a table top without the base; to activate sooooo many options, you HAVE to use the 90 page "ABRIDGED" manual as they all use codes & steps to complete - they're just not user-friendly in my book - and the COMPLETE and larger book is only online; has a permanent red light on upper left corner when sitting in its base and charging - some complained it's too bright at night in their bedroom - it's okay for me; you don't get audio feedback when placing phone on base to tell you it's placed properly, as my prev., other-brand, did; not intuitive to play back msg./recording from a caller unless using the the primary base with ans. mach.; even using "call block" requires more than one touch. The bottom line: it's just not user-friendly, espec. comparing it to my former Panasonic (which lasted 4 yrs.). - has far too many useless functions, IMO.

My mom's wireless phones kept cutting out while talking on them. They were about 7 years old and it was time for some new ones. I purchased these for her and they work great. I can actually hear her now. These are super clear and loud. I would purchase them again.

Keeps away robo calls

This stops any calls without a real person. Requires a caller to listen to your (or built in) announcement to press the # key on their phone in order to get through. Very effective. Any corded phones you have connected will ring once for all calls, but when the AT&T system sees the caller ID it requires action by a person, and the ringing stops. If no corded phones are connected you will not even hear the first ring. Some friends have not gotten through because they didn't expect the blocking requirement, but you can add a list of acceptable phone numbers.

Over all the system works quite well. It has the ability to screen unwanted junk calls out before they simply worry one to death.
It does need a bit more though. The ringing volume on incoming calls should have a louder upper limit, hard to hear incoming calls and caller ID info when TV is on. Also there seems to be a clarity issue with many messages passed on from telephone but nor with the recorded greeting.
