Excellent phone system

We've found AT&T phones to be much more intuitive than Panasonics, and this phone is a great example. It was super easy to setup. All four handset units share the same directory and CallerID history. The handsets are small and light and very much like cell phones in their layout, which makes them intuitive. All four handsets are numbered and you can intercom to a specific handset very easily. But the biggest highlight is the speakerphone in each handset -- it's the best I've heard in a cordless phone -- so good that callers could barely tell you are on a speakerphone, and good enough that you can use it in place of a headset.
The only cons are that the headset jack is a tad tight, and my wife was a little confused by the message playback options (though I wasn't).
Another winner AT&T phone unit -- worth the price (especially when you get four handsets).

Purchased ATT DECT phones from BB for 99.99. Best phones we have ever had. Clarity is excellent, easy to setup and use. Intercom is a great feature when contacting other people in house, e.g. when I am in basement and need to get someone's attention in bedroom. Speakerphone works great, and ability to move around house, and outside of house, without any degradation is wonderful. Strongly recommend this product. We went from a household of hodge-podge, mis-matched phones, where none really worked that well.

I have had this phone about a week and have found it to be an excellent phone. It has excellent reception, loud volume, and a great speaker phone. I found the build and look to be excellent. My only real complaints would be that the handset bases are kind of bulky, and that in the dark, when the lcd light is off, the handset screen window looks cloudy. The answering machine could be better as well, but it is sufficient.

Best Phone System Ever!!!!

This phone system lives up to the reviews and deserves all 5 stars!
We love having four handsets and the luxury of having one in the rooms that we want a phone. They are perfect size even for someone like me with big hands. Call-waiting & caller ID are essential features with the ability to access or delete missed calls from each handset. The availability of speakerphone and intercom functionality between handsets is great. The blue-lighted display, backlit keypad and ringtones are very appealing.
The digital answering system is very high quality as far as audible clarity along with time and date stamp. It is easy to use with options to delete message during playback and skipping to the next message.
Last and probably the main reason we bought this system is the 6.0 digital technology which doesn't interfere with our wireless computer network. Also, the signal range and quality are amazing.
We lover our new phone system and highly recommend this incredible technology to anyone!

* The Ease of Use
* The Range
* The Speaker phone
* Plus, I love how you can page another handset. This is great for getting someone's attention in another part of the house or outside.
* Their really is no downside to this product and when you factor in the price its almost too good to be true.

Best of 4 phones we tested

We tested 4 DECT 6.0 phones side-by-side until we found one we liked.
GE 28110EE2
Phillips CD 445 Duo
Uniden 2080-3
ATT SL82408
The GE, Phillips and Uniden all had a terrible speaker in the base unit answering machine. Words were not distinct and the volume could not be adjusted loud enough to hear across the room. The Uniden had an intuitive menu system and one button playback of messages. We found the orange screen and slim font style difficult to read. The Phillips had a nice blue screen and large font but the menu system was not intuitive and it took 3 button presses to paly back messages. The ATT DECT 6.0 phone has an excellent speaker. Very clear and volume can be adjusted sufficiently. It also has a blue screen whihc is easy on the eyes and the menu system is easy to understand. It costs significantly more than the other three but it provides the best quality and features. It also comes with 4 handsets.

Clearly the Best phone package out there. Dect 6.0 digital technology and 4 (count em), 4 handsets. A phone wherever you need one, kitchen, living room, bedroom, and office. Unbelievable for the price. I found mine on sale for just under $100. Easy to use, easy to set-up. Speakerphone clarity is awesome, most can't tell if I'm on speakerphone or not. Range is excellent as well, in the basement, on the deck, or at the neighbors, just super. AT & T has a winner !!!!!

Operates as advertised

I have had my system for less than a week, but I'm very pleased with it's operation. Very simple to setup and record your message announcements. I especially like the ability to use multi-handsets (two) to speak to outside callers. And the speaker ability in each handset makes the system more flexible. The ability to "intercom" between handsets is very useful around the house.
For the price, I don't think you can go wrong.

Great Phone

This is a great phone, super stylish and easy to use and setup. I really enjoy the contact list which is shared throughout all the handsets. You would think this would be a no brainer but I have had phones which you had to program each handset. Its very nice having 4 phones to put throughout your house. The phone is light and easy to hold, the display is clear and bright.
I also have to say for the one reviewer who wrote they could not put a "1" in front of the number... I would recommend going back an reading the directions. (page 31) from the easy to read manual clearly explains how to edit a number should you need to place a 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx in front of a number. I would definitely recommend this static free handset for any user.

out of all the phones i have bought from at&t this is the best one yet. it's very clear while talking. there is no programming needed for the additional handsets. you just hook up the base w/ answering machine first and then you just plug up the addtional handsets. when programming the directory on one phone it automatically programs the other handsets. this phone is great!

A Little Disappointed

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I have only had this a few days and my main issue is that others cannot hear me well when I am using a headset with this phone. Also, the volume on my end with a headset is a bit too low at times as well. I am on the phone a lot in my home office so headset use is important to me.
If you don't need to use a headset, this is a great phone with an outstanding speakerphone, good sound quality and long battery life.

Great New Product. Dect 6.0 really works

AT&T should be proud to put their name on this product.
Tried the Uniden Dect 6.0 and caller said my voice was muffled. Returning it. Features were not as good either. This phone is very clear and the speaker phone is one of the best I have used. Other party could hardly tell that I was on speaker. Phone book a snap to enter and access. Intercom is clear and so usefull between the 4 hand units. The intercom is worth the price alone. Answering machine again is simple to set /use and does the job well. Has most every feature I could want in a cordless phone system.
Best of all, the reason I bought this phone system, the Dect 6.0. It really works, in that the cordless phone does NOT cut off my internet cable service. No more connecting and re-connecting my Linysks router, and the transmission range between handsets is quite long and voices very clear both ways. Great technology.Obsoletes phones using older frequecy and technolegy.
Best Buy once again gives the best value for this system (4 phones never-the-less) and most other stores or net- sites don't even carry it.
Thank you Best Buy.

Recommended by my son who did extensive research; key factor for me was comfort of handset -- fit to ear, handling, clarity of sound. Appreciated sale price under $100 for 4 phones able to be placed to accommodate wherever I am in the house. Outstanding value for the investment!

Excellent cordless with wide range. Calls are clear. Has similar buttons like mobile phones: contact list, returning calls, etc. The intercom feature is great if you are in different parts of the house. Only problem is you need to know which phone you are calling.

The BEST phone of the bunch!

I got this phone as it was the best looking one and so far has had the best reviews of the bunch. Plus the week I bought it, Best Buy had it on sale for $99. I LOVE the look and the blue backlighting is so much nicer than the green ones the others have. It was simple to program and set up. Adding phone numbers and contacts to the phones is so simple! The different ring tones are really nice and it's great not to hear something shrill. I have mine set a a low toned ring and it's a great ring! I'm so glad that it comes with four handsets as currently I only need two but with my dog the chewer, I'm glad I've got a couple of extra handy! I would totally recommend this phone to everyone.

Not as good as my older AT&T

*The headset jack is a bit delicate. The phone slipped out of my hand onto the floor, lightly it seemed, and now the jack is all messed up.
*Also, people say they don't hear me as well when I use the headset. It's the same headset product I used with my old AT&T phone, and I was louder on that phone system.
*The message minute bank could be longer. 15 minutes gets used up VERY quickly.
*When you attempt to redial from Caller ID, you can't because there is no 1 available in front. I found a away around that with a few extra clicks.
Select your Caller ID/CID, then hit Menu/Select. An Edit option will come up. Type 1 (it automatically goes in-front of your number) then hit the green phone/Dial.
*I think the Menu system is a bit awkward and I often forget how to get into my phone book to dial out.

DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) is a wonderful feature, it creates it's own wireless network and doesn't interfere with our computers or cell phones. (So you can enter phone numbers on the directory and they show up on all of the phones.)
The Clarity is phenomenal; My husband can't tell when I have him on speaker.
The different ringer tone options are great. I don't like the high pitched rings.
The phone itself is very stylish, with a blue back light.
VERY easy to use, didn't even need the manual.
If you are researching for a new phone and not sure what to get...GET THIS ONE!!!

This is a great phone except it won't wake up heavy sleepers lol... If you use comcast digital phone system it will alert you when you have a voice mail.. I don't use the answering machine because fo the comcast system so i have no idea how it works lol... The range is great. I never have a problem with it cutting out around the house. Overall, The phone is excelent except i would prefer a louder headset ringer volume. I would defenitly recommend this product. I was looking for a color LCD phone and ran across this one becasue fo the DECT 6.0 technology and price... that's what grabbed my attention!!

This phone has fantastic range - I can go at least 2 houses down the street with perfect sound. It is Easy to set up -- it tells you what to do when you plug it in. It has a "voice mail" indicator on the handsets and base that works with AT&T Callnotes to let you know you have a message there (not documented in the instruction manual). The call logs and programmable dialing directory are kept on the base unit so all phone are in-sync. The handset volume could be louder, and the display contrast higher. But the speakerphone sound is great. If you are visually-impaired or hard of hearing, this might not be the phone for you.
