Audien Atom2 Rechargeable OTC Hearing Aids are an option for anyone who needs help with hearing loss. They have 24-hour use at a single charge. They come ready to use right out of the box and come with six extra pairs of buds a wax guard kit a cleaning brush power adapter USBC charging cable and a charging dock.
It works very well and does assist in your hearing, but I find that I'd appreciate a set measured and sized to fit individual hearing aid needs, which would be a better picture for my aunt. I got this for her, and she still likes them, though. They use an A2 chip, so they do have a very clear sound quality. There are two microphones for hearing aid modes, and it also has a hearing loss level.
The pro series I've read also has UV cleaning and noise cancellation as well. For anyone looking to get some more features that will improve the personal experience. If you have a loved one or yourself in search of a little hearing assistance this is definitely one to check out.

AUDIEN ATOM2 OTC HEARING AIDS

Ok so I just received my Audien Atom2 rechargeable OTC hearing aids a couple weeks ago and have been putting them through the paces. This is a tad overdue due to me being sick, however, I have been using these on and off over the last couple weeks at different times, and I must say that I'm thorough impressed with this set of hearing aids. There are easy to use and comfortable to wear.
UNBOXING
* Audien ATOM2 Hearing Aids
* Charging Dock/Case
* USB-A to USB-C Charging Cable
* Power Adapter
* Cleaning Brush
* S/M/L Eartips ( 6 Open & 6 Closed Eartips)
* Wax Guard Kit
* User Manual/Documentation
Once you have unboxed everything, it is recommended that you charge up the hearing aids for approximately 3 hours. Once they are fully charged the charging light on the case will illuminate green. Next it'd be best to test out and try the eartips (both open and closed tips) to see which fits your ears better. You will get a loud screeching echo when you turn them on if they are not seated in your ear canal properly or if the eartips are sealing off the ear canal. Following along with the user manual you will be able to power them on simply by putting them in your ears (this is the only way to power them on; theres no ON/OFF switch).
The back of each hearing aid is a single button and a wire stem. The wire stem is for helping grasp them if you accidentally push them too far into your ear. The button however, works double duty as the Volume Button and the Listening Mode Button. There's 5 levels of volume and there's 4 different Listening Modes.
TO CHANGE VOLUME LEVEL: Press and release the button.
* 1st Press = Level 1 Volume with 1 beep
* 2nd Press = Level 2 Volume with 2 beeps
* 3rd Press = Level 3 Volume with 3 beeps
* 4th Press = Level 4 Volume with 4 beeps
* 5th Press = Level 5 Volume with 5 beeps
TO CHANGE LISTENING MODE: Press and hold the button until you hear a number of boops. The number of boops indicate which listening mode you are in.
* 1 Boop = Conversation Mode
* 2 Boops = Restaurant Mode
* 3 Boops = TV
* 4 Boops = Outdoor
It took me a little bit to get used to this way of changing the volume and listening modes this way due to having tried several other hearing aids over the last couple of years, this is the first hearing aid set that doesn't require the use of your smartphone to download an app to tweak it to your liking. All the tweaking is done through a single button on the back of the hearing aid.
Once I got pass the initial screeching sound, and was able to adjust the volume to my liking as well as according to my current environment, I began to thoroughly enjoy the hearing aids. It's amazing how clear they are and the minute/small sounds they pick up. After I took them out of my ears for the evening, its amazing to see how low the volume is on the TV versus me having them in. Lets me know I do have some hearing loss.
Due to the being extremely simple to use, I recommend anyone with a slight hearing loss to give them a try before shelling out the big bucks more expensive hearing aid sets. These may just work fine for you.

Difficulty with initial setup

I had so much trouble with the initial setup that I ended up switching to the Audien Ion (behind the ear). The only control on these is a single button, and when you put your finger on the device it feeds back. They turn on automatically when you remove them from the case, so when I was putting them in my ear they fed back. The Ion has a ten second delay after you push the on switch before they turn on, and the volume / mode switch is behind your ear so when you touch it it does not feedback. I'm not sure I ever got the setup correct, but for me the Ion had better sound.

My Best OTC Hearing Aids to date

This is a review for the Audien Atom 2 OTC Hearing Aids
I will start this review by explaining my hearing loss is a combination of mixed conductive and nerve damage, also I have severe case of tinnitus. I have had stapedectomy surgery on both ears, which helped me hear better in my left ear better than my right ear. With my hearing as such, l use only one hearing aid in my right ear. I have used a lot of different types of hearing aids over the years from audiologist fitted and OTC. With the most recent ones being the OTC type that I found them not to equal in quality and sound. Most of them don't filter out the background noise and the sound is not very easy to control. When offered the opportunity to test the Audien Atom 2, I decided to give them a try and see if they would improve my ability to hear better. So far it has been great. I mostly wear one while watching TV, so we can lower the volume on the TV to a level that is comfortable for me and my spouse to enjoy our favorite TV shows. The only problem I found with them is that I have a small ear canal and they don't fit completely in my ear which makes it a little uncomfortable to wear. With it not fitting correctly in the ear, I do sometimes get the annoying feedback sounds but with the ability to select one of the four different sound levels makes it easier to eliminate the feedback sounds. This OTC hearing aid is the best one that I have used so far. The Audien Atom 2 appears to be made of quality material and workmanship. It comes in a great storage case, with a charger and everything you need to set it up to fit your needs for better hearing. I would recommend this OTC hearing aid to anyone who is tired of poor hearing.

Good for Everyday Use

I use these daily for TV, calls, and even walking in the park. The 4 listening modes are so useful switching to the "outdoor" mode makes such a difference. Really thought through.

What a disappointment.

The Audien Atom 2 OTC Hearing aid falls short as a hearing aid. The only adjustability to this device is the volume level, and there are only 5 levels of adjustability available. This is the first device I have owned that the case does not also have a built-in battery for charging the device. There is no charging on the go, it must be plugged into a power source. The Atom 2 also does not have any filters so it amplifies everything including unwanted sounds. In example it amplifies the person sitting across the table, along with the background clatter.
There is also no application to adjust for personal settings, this is a one size that fits all device. I have hearing loss in my left ear from an accident, losing my lower end hearing and a loss of the high end in the right ear. I cannot adjust for either.
There is also no Bluetooth connectivity.
The Atom 2 comes with the following:
Left and Right aid
Charging dock/Holding case
USB to USC-C Charging cable(most new devices have switched to USB-C to USB-C)
USB power adapter
Cleaning brush
Small, Medium, and Large Earbuds
Wax Guard kit

Very disappointing

The Audien Atom 2 over-the-counter hearing aids were a great disappointment. From design flaws to extremely loud interference sounds, these are possibly the worst hearing aids ever.
First off, the case and the hearing aids themselves feel sturdy and well-made. That's about all that's good about these hearing aids.
The design of them, while appealing to have a non over-the-ear fit, is flawed. The button to control the hearing aids is right where you press to push them into your ears. So, optimal amplification is almost impossible to achieve when placing them in your ear. They also seem to forget the last setting and you have to go through the whole process of adjusting the amplification each time you place them in your ears -- again, pressing the button to get them in your ears. There should be a way to have a delay of some sort, so the hearing aids do not change amplification while pressing them into your ears.
The more disappointing part of these hearing aids is the very loud feedback sounds people around can hear -- even while they are in the case. They make an almost piercing, scratching down a chalkboard squeal whenever they are not in your ears and even in the case.
Very disappointed in this particular model. I know there are other models with app control and I imagine those would be a lot better.

I'd forgotten how much I loved music untill I started using the Atom Pro 2. Every instrument and lyric comes through so clearly now. They've truly brought back one of my my greatest joys.
