One of the best BT headphones out there.

Initial impressions: The build quality is quite good. No creaking and these has to be the most comfortable headphones I've gotten so far without having to upgrade the earpads. This headphone has no option for regular headphone cables and will only connect to a laptop with the micro USB cable that comes with. Pairing: One of the easiest headphones to pair with an iPhone. Turn it on and go to your BT devices on your iPhone and you should see ATH-DSR7BT. Hit connect and you're done. It can be paired to at least 9 devices too if you are so inclined. Sound: Sound signature is typical Audio Technica which is very neutral and bass is very tight without the boost you typically hear from Beats headphones. Midrange is very nice which makes voices sound very clear and good without any pronounced sibilance. (meaning words starting with S, T and Z don't sound harsh or your don't hear any hissing) It doesn't have noise cancelling on it so it remains how it will fair in noisy environments. At maximum volume setting without any music signal it's also very quiet which is a good thing. I think I'll be very happy with this headphone for portable and daily use and leave my wired headphones for home use. Using it with the supplied USB cable and plugging into my Macbook it is recognized immediately. Sound through the USB wired connection opens up the music even more but the USB cable supplied with it is quite stiff. Recommendation: If you're looking in the $300 price range for wireless headphones this one has to be in the list of your choices.

Nice Sound, But Gets the Basics Wrong

I’m fairly discerning when it comes to my headphones. I wear them at the office, during workouts, on airplanes, and other places where I just need to be in my own world. The new technology advertised with these Audio-Technica headphones (Pure Digital Drive) intrigued me, so I was excited to give them a try. For headphones in this price range, they deliver good audio quality, but they fall short in terms of usability and basic features. PROS: - Good - but not incredible - sound quality. Songs are clear and crisp with a decent amount of bass. Audiobooks likewise are very crisp, with the narrator’s voice sounding like he’s in the room with me. I even paired these to my Bluetooth-enabled Blu-ray player and watched a movie and the headphones provided a very natural-sounding experience. I do wish the volume sounded louder. Even at the highest volume, these headphones don’t seem to get painfully loud (not that they need to, but compared to other headphones, it’s a bit surprising). Also, I can’t help but think they sound just a bit on the “tinny” side. A little more bass would go a long way. - Comfort. I left them on through a full day of work and hardly noticed them. The headband and ear pads are very plush and don’t cause me any discomfort. There are 10 levels of length adjustment atop each earpiece. - Build quality. These feel very sturdy and don’t seem to be entirely made of plastic like some cheaper models. - Battery life. Audio-Technica claims 15 hours on a full charge, and that seems accurate to me. After a full day (9+ hours) of use, my iPhone indicated that the headphones still had about a third of the battery remaining. The 15 hour rating is a bit lower than competing models, but I think it’s plenty for most users. - Ability to connect to a computer via USB for a wired connection. I plugged them into my Windows 10 laptop and they were instantly recognized, giving me the ability to fine-tune the headphones’ audio quality even further. CONS: - The touch-sensitive button (used to control forward, backward, pause, play, etc.) is just plain awkward. I find myself moving my thumb all around the left ear can just to find it. There is no physical or audio response when you finally tap the button. The volume control switch is directly next to this button, so I’m constantly pausing or fast-forwarding my music when all I really wanted to do is adjust the volume. If you want to quickly take the headphones off but leave your music playing, that’s going to be a problem: there’s a 95% chance you’ll accidentally put your finger on the button and pause your music. Very poor design choice, in my opinion. - The charging/micro-USB port is recessed quite deeply behind the cover, so you’re essentially forced to use the included charging cable, even if you have a ton of other micro-USB cables laying around the house. What’s worse is that the cover over the port is quite challenging to remove. Make sure your fingernails are up for the challenge. - The three lights on the left ear cup are overly confusing. I understand that they serve a purpose, but you’ll have to study the user manual for a few hours if you want to memorize what all of the different flashing patterns mean. - Instead of a hard, protective carrying case, Audio-Technica gives you a not-so-protective leather sleeve to store the headphones in. Not a deal breaker, but it makes me less likely to want to throw them in my carry-on when traveling. OVERALL: I can’t help but think that Audio-Technica neglected some basic functionalities in favor of finalizing its new all-digital technologies. These headphones sound good, but that comes with the cost of some less-than-ideal design choices in terms of usability. Regardless, at this price point, these still represent a great value. Recommended!

These headphones have been primarily used by my Samsung Galaxy S7, so my results may be different to other users. I deal with sounds all day, whether work (paying attention to harmonics) or home, I enjoy clarity and pure sounds. I can say that these headphones can perform to my expectations. They can handle the hi. mid and lows decently. For those who are looking for major bass, this wont perform to your expectations. It's hard to explain, the low is a rich but not overpowering. Everything is so clear (laughs, I'm listening to Bassnectar while writing this). To expound upon the clarity, I am able to hear different notes or instruments that before were muddled. The battery life on these are amazing, I fell asleep with these on, and the following morning, they are still playing music with just half of the battery used. I was able to finish the day with the same charge. I must say these headphones are REALLY COMFORTABLE. If you didn't pick up that I fell asleep with these on. I also wear glasses for distance and I do not get side pressure by wearing my glasses with these headphones. That is a big PLUS for me. Also they are quite light, I don't get fatigued like I had at times by other headphones by either the pressure or shear weight of them. I only had a few issues with these. The touch control is quite temperamental with me. It may be due to me using android, but there is a delay when I try to use it or does not do what I wanted it to do. This does not affect the performance of the headphones but adjusting or moving the headphones has a lot of creaking noises but, while I am wearing it, its fine. Pairing with the NFC was really fast. I was able to start listening to music within a moment. Overall, very solid performance. Despite the minor nuisances, I give these 5 stars and far and few between I give them out. What won me over is the battery life, the rich sounds, and how COMFORTABLE they are.

I really really wanted to love these headphones. I'd heard so many great things about Audio-Technica (about the ATH-M50X in particular) and was really excited to try these headphones out. Unfortunately I came away disappointed. There are just a few flaws that, while minor on their own, added up to something I don't see myself consistently using. I'll start off with the good stuff: These are super light and comfortable. They feel pretty durable and I've been carrying them in my bag for the past few days and haven't had any concerns stuffing them in with everything else. I wouldn't want to put them through a lot of abuse, but it seems like they hold up well to everyday use. They look great too. I loved the brushed metal look (even though they're plastic). The sound is also great. Very detailed and clear. It doesn't have the bass-y or warmer sounds of some other headphones, which you may prefer, but I like this better. I don't have any devices that support aptX or aptX HD, but the Bluetooth connection over my iPhone 7 sounded good and music through Apple Music sounds just like it would over wired headphones. You can also use the included USB cable as a wired connection to a PC and listen to high resolution audio that way. I was able to get that work without any issues, but you should note that you do need to go into your sound settings and change the audio output to 96kHz/24-bit; otherwise you get normal CD-quality sound. Okay, now the not so good stuff: While the sound is great, I could never get these to get quite as loud as I wanted them to be. I tried this over Bluetooth and the wired USB connection. With both the headphone and device volumes turned up to the max it was still maybe a hair or two below the loudest I would want to listen to my music. Not only does it not get loud enough, but the sound isn't sealed in very well. Anyone sitting next to you can easily hear what you are listening to and the manual even states that you should lower the volume when on public transportation so you don't disturb other people. The volume controls on the headphone are separate from the volume controls on the device you're listening on, which means you basically have to decide which place you'd rather control your volume at and turn the other one up to the max. I don't know why it is this way. I have several recent Bluetooth devices and their volume controls all sync up to my iPhone. Battery life is stated at 4 hours. I haven't used these long enough to wear them all the way down, but that seems really short compared to other options out there. I wish I could have liked these better. I really do. I love the way they look and sound, but the low volume is just a huge deal-breaker for me. Maybe that is something that could be fixed via some kind of firmware update, but for now this isn't something I can recommend.

Every thing about these headphones scream high quality. From the moment you start to unpack them. The box and packing lets you know you are opening something special. And after you get them out that good warm feeling in side just gets better when you put them on for the first time. They are SUPER comfortable. Connecting to my phone could not have been any easier. They have a good sound too, nice crisp and clean. Also comes with a very nice storage bag. Some cons would be they don't get super loud and I wish the bass sounded better. Overall I would recommend these bluetooth wire-less headphones.

The sound is great, but for the price is questionable. The battery lasts a long time, and you can wear it without it hurting your ears and feeling too tight. The touch sensitive button is unfortunately not a shining feature and makes it more difficult to use than a physical one. I'd expect headphones in this price range to sound exceptional with an option for high bass, but this doesn't provide that. Overall, not a set of headphones I'd go out of my way to buy.

Better Sound with major flaws in design

Setup is very easy and connected using Bluetooth as well as NFC. The including cable for charging and higher-quality listening is a USB-A to micro USB. I connected this headset wirelessly to my iPad Air & my android phone and they worked flawlessly. Setup is quick and easy with Bluetooth or NFC. I was streaming audio from Spotify, Plex, and even watched several movies wearing these. The sound quality is not that great compare to other high end headphones. I used these headphones wired or wireless, which means I get the versatility of wireless. I had issues with this headset especially using with wireless option. The signal is very week and if i leave the room the signal breaks continuously and cut off. Sometimes it gives excessive static sound if the phone is inside the pocket. Also, when you listen the songs, the person next to you can hear the songs as well which is not the case in other high end headphones. I really want privacy when listening songs and watching movies especially while travelling. Pros The first headphone to employ Audio Technica's Pure Digital Drive system, which keeps the audio signal circuit completely digital, from listening device to driver, where the analog conversion takes place. The pulsed controlled digital signal is transferred directly to the driver’s voice calls, resulting in precise diaphragm movement for exceptionally accurate sound reproduction. Unique housing architecture keeps the electric circuitry separate from the acoustic space, achieving precise airflow control and superb audio clarity. Internal battery provides up to 15 hours of continuous use on a full charge. Headphones reproduce high-resolution digital sources up to 96 kHz/24-bit via wired USB connection, and up to 48 kHz/24-bit wirelessly. Cons The touch-sensitive button (used to control forward, backward, pause, play, etc.) is slightly confusing. The volume control switch is directly next to this button, either i am pausing or fast-forwarding my music when all I really wanted to do adjust the volume. It is really poor design. No USB C cable for charging / listening. if you have new laptop with USB C port only, you may not be able to use this headset with laptop. No hard, protective carrying case. I wanted to use this headset due to Pure Digital Drive system. However, i will stick to my SONY MDR-1000X noise cancelling headset due to solid build and sound quality.

Last week I received a set of Audio-Technica ATH-DSR7BT Wireless Over-the-Ear headphones for review. It was a perfect time to get them as I took them to the cabin for Memorial Day weekend and let many people try them as well as an option. The quick summary by all that tried them: Comfortable fit, a bit heavy but good sound if you are in a quiet environment. To be more specific, this headphone was built with a well-padded earcup and headband – so comfort is not a problem. I could see these being all-day wear if you wanted. Pairing the headphones with Bluetooth and the Near-Field communications was a breeze. Both work flawlessly. I plugged the headphones into my PC using a microUSB cable and Windows 10 recognized it immediately and set it as the default audio device and started playing music to it. No problems there either! When listening to the headset – I used the volume slider and play/pause button. This is where the problems begin. As I tried to adjust the volume or even the headset fit, I kept activating the touch-sensitive play-pause button – and it would interrupt my music. Having that button near the volume was a design mistake in my opinion (see picture of pen pointing to touch area). It’s quite annoying to keep interrupting your music or phone call (it would hang up on your caller if you accidentally hit it during a phone call). Be aware. Speaking of phone calls – these headphones also functions as a voice headset. I had my brother-in-law call me as he is the one I test my voice quality with on all my headsets, and he stated the voice quality was marginal at best. The microphone picked up all ambient room sounds such as people talking, the TV, etc. There is no noise-cancelling built in to the microphone at all so I likely won’t be using these to take any voice/conference calls. The Pure Digital sound from the 45mm drivers in the headphones is great. Music was clear and crisp at all volumes. The problem here is that you must listen to your music in a completely quiet environment as again, there is no noise-cancelling in the earcups allowing you to hear all the noises around you – people talking, the TV, etc. So, unless you’re sitting in a room all by yourself or are in another quiet area – you’ll be annoyed by the background noise. Size wise – these are large headphones. Not something you’d pack for the airplane or cruise ship. However, I could see putting them in the included carrying pouch and taking them to the cabin for a bit of alone time in the hammock though! Overall – great sound, comfortable fit but without noise cancelling in both the microphone or earcups, all background noises will likely bother you or your call partner.

These headphones sound AMAZING! First of all, despite being relatively large, they are lightweight and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. They advertise a 15 hour battery life. I haven't completely tested the battery life, but I charged the completely upon receiving them and haven't had to charge them yet. This has been several days ago. The headphones fold for better storage in the included soft bag. Also included is a USB cable used for either charging the headphones or plugging them directly into a computer for listening to audio from your computer. The right ear has an on/off switch and the left ear has the volume control as well as the touch sensor for controlling play/pause features. I found it slightly difficult at first to use the play/pause touch sensor. The headphones have LED lights on one side to indicate charge level as well as what "audio codec" is being played through the headphones. Also, the headphones have a built in microphone for placing and receiving phone calls while wearing them. This is nice that you do not have to remove the headphones just to place/receive a phone call. All in all, great headphones! You won't regret ordering them!

Overall, a very nice set of headphones. Fit and finish on these headphones are quite good. There are only three buttons on these headphones which makes it quite simple to use. Main switch for power, volume and a sensor type button which has multiple purposes. The sensor button is a tad awkward at first and can be mistakenly pressed quite easily. Were it placed in a different location it might be a little better and not mistakenly pushed. Sound quality is quite clean and crisp. Those looking for headphones with booming bass, these aren't it. Attention to sound clarity on these is for high's/mid's primarily. Not a whole lot of bass in these headphones but just enough.

    A New State Of Sound

Music and movies are a big part of my life. Both mediums of entertainment need to be on point with the experience of sound. I like to be immersed in the listening experience. The ATH-DSR7BT Wireless Headphones are a brilliant example of audio luxury. The ATH Headphones are extremely easy to set up right out of the box. I was greeted with pleasant tones that let me know that the ATH Headphones were one and connected to my device. And the audio journey began... The first physical feature that you'll notice is how COMFORTABLE the cup cushions are; like memory foam pillows for the ears. I immediately started to watch the movie, Logan. Let me tell you, the caliber of sound that poured out was crisp with character dialogue, rich with the soundtrack and deep with the sound effects. This was even better than the time I had seen the movie in IMAX theater. I then watched Transformers Extinction. Anyone knows that Michael Bay films are lined with car crashes and explosions, all of which made my giddy upon hearing. When it comes to music, I like a lot of Electronic Dance Music (EDM), Eminem, Trance, Nine Inch Nails, Enya and classical. Music is a muse for me in my line of work because it can transport the listener. With the ATH Headphones, the music that I listened to a hundred times before was now as if I was in the recording studio! The digital signal is THAT clean! No hiccups, no interference that interrupts the listening experience. I took a walk around the block since with my other wireless headsets, they are influenced by other electronic waves which can make for an annoying experience. The touch controls are precise and easy to use whether you're going forward or back in the track listings or answering a phone call (which also delivers a clean sound for both you and the person on the other end of the call). If you desire to plug the ATH Headphones into your PC or Apple Computer via USB and there's an immediate connection that the user can customize. The only slight that I can mention about the Audio-Technica headphones is that when they're charging through the USB cord (not via PC) they aren't able to be active so I can listen via my device while charging. It's minor and not worth influencing my review. Comfortable, luxurious audio headphones that are made for audio fanatics.

The Audio-Technica DSR7BT digital wireless over-ear headphones are the best headphones I've ever owned. You can stop reading now and go buy a set of these because they are just that good. The headphones sound crystal clear with perfect highs and deep bass. Whether you're listening to music, a movie, or video game, it's going to sound incredible. They feature Pure Digital Drive, which keeps the audio signal in digital form until the very end for the purest sound. They have excellent noise cancelling as well to keep you immersed in the sound you want to hear. The DSR7BT pairs easily with devices and has really long battery life. You can use them wired via usb or wirelessly via bluetooth. They weigh just under 11 ounces and have super soft ear padding. They also feature a built-in microphone so you can answer calls or record video games with commentary. I haven't tried the latter, so I don't know how good it sounds. Phone calls sound good though. I highly recommend these headphones. I love mine and I think you'll love them too.

I have been an ear bud guy for a while primarily because I traveled a lot and they were convenient. I decided to give full sized headphones a shot although the ones I've used in the past have been somewhat heavy, bulky and awkward. Enter the Audio Technica DSR7BT headphones. These headphones come with a USB cable and carrying bag. More amazingly they were already charged and ready to use! I would suggest a quick review of the manual so you are familiar with the location and function of the various features. One in particular it the touch sensor that allows you to play/pause your music and answer phone calls. I've only made one call and was told the quality was good but it would be interesting to try in a variety of situations. Pairing was simple and straight forward on my iPhone. Volume control is independent from your device so you basically have two controls. Once I put them on even without sound coming through it makes it remarkably quiet. They are very comfortable and adjust easily. There is a solid feel to them without being bulky or heavy. Turning on the sound you are enveloped with rich clear sound and deep solid base. I listened to a variety of music from classical to pop and all sounded amazing! Note if you don't want to hear people around you put these on! You can also listen over a wired USB connection if Bluetooth isn't an option.

I'm always on the lookout for great headphones as I work from home and travel extensively too. You can appreciate the attention to detail of these headphones even before hearing how they sound. The packaging definitely says that they have spent time on the little things as you can see in the attached photos with this review. The head phones are Bluetooth enabled and so are great for using with your tablet, phone or Bluetooth enabled PC. You can also pair these using NFC for devices that support NFC. A couple of years ago I discovered lossless audio and was blown away by the quality of the audio when compared with standard music CD's. It's awesome to see that these headphones support the Hi-Res Audio standard and they sound incredible. If you're looking for a high quality set of Bluetooth headphones I'd recommend checking these out.

You might be hard pressed to find a better pair of Bluetooth headphones. The package is nice and well thought out but is almost all cardboard. Inside you will find the headphones, a pleather carrying case, a long USB cable (which can carry Hi-Fi audio to the headphones on a PC), and documentation. The headphones themselves look to be a nice cross between professional and fashionable. It feels very durable and is mostly metal. The comfort level is superb with soft portions on the top of the head and great padding for the ears. Most headphones like this will trap a lot of heat but I never seemed to experience this problem with these. I tested the headphones with three devices, a Google Pixel (plain old AD2P Bluetooth), a LG G6 (APT-X) and USB for some Hi-Fi audio that I have downloaded. They all performed wonderfully. I started with the Pixel to hear regular Bluetooth audio. I was thoroughly impressed from the get go. The main stand out part of the audio is how much it emphasizes the "punch" and details of the music. Bass and treble were not too heavy but everything just simply sounded clean and pure. I then tried it with the LG G6 with the higher quality Apt-X codec. It was hard to tell any difference but it was still overall amazing. When hooked up to the PC via USB I was able to see a little bit of differences in quality as the tracks were 24bit. Mostly just finer details but nothing that would be too noticeable, if you are a huge audiophile you might be able to tell quite a bit more. Phone calls came in just fine with these and callers stated they could understand me just fine. Here are my only gripes, but none of them were large enough for me to give up any stars. First, these headphones are not noise cancelling. Their side and fit cuts out a large amount of sound but you can still hear the TV and the kids playing in the background. Second, the volume control and play buttons on the headphones are a bit confusing. The volume switch feels similar to a spring loaded slider but you have to make very deliberate movements to adjust. The Play/pause button is more of a touch sensor which is kind of annoying as I accidentally hit it when trying to adjust volume. These are almost certainly my new favorite headphones and will be replacing my Bose ones for regular listening.

I was actually looking at purchasing some Beats Solo3 wireless headphones when I saw these. If you are looking for headphones that are bass heavy, these are not it. If you prefer a well-balanced set of headphones that are comfortable, with decent features, these may be for you. These are extremely comfortable and very stylish as well. Although how they look has little to do with how well they sound, I wanted something that looked high tech and stylish. These fit the bill. I listen to a variety of music ranging from jazz, R&B and Hip-Hop to Pop, Opera, and Spoken Word. With these headphones, I hear a wider range of the musical spectrum. The mids and highs are more clear, the bass is tight, but not as loud as my Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2’s. I don't like that there are essentially two separate volume controls. When you change the volume on the headphones, it doesn't adjust the volume on your device like most headphones. The volume does increase or decrease, but its just a weird setup to me. The controls on the earpiece are difficult to get used to and are on the same side as the volume control. There also isn’t a physical button to change the track, it’s a touch sensitive button. I haven’t gotten used to this yet. I used these with my iPhone 7+ and with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. I know one of the key features of these headphones is the APTx codec, but my iPhone doesn't accept that it and although I thought my Samsung tablet did, I could never really find a definitive answer. The APTX is supposed to play music at a higher bitrate, which provides a better overall sound. These headphones may be great when using a different device, but using my iPhone and Samsung Tablet, the headphones were just good. Overall, I really wanted to love these headphones, however, I just ended up liking them. For this price point, I would expect to have active noise cancellation and the ability to use them as a wired headphone. I would recommend these, but there may be better options available at or near this price point. Such as the B&W P5 or P7’s. Pros: - Very Comfortable - Stylish looking - Good overall sound quality - Great battery life Cons: - Headphones controls could be better - Instructions for connecting to a MAC caused poor sound quality - No Active Noise Cancellation - No ability to use headphones with cord if the battery dies

Excellent Sound from These Bluetooth Cans

Performance - Let’s start off with the most important feature - sound quality. Wireless headphones have come a long way. You are no longer forced to trade sound quality for wire-free convenience. The advancements in Bluetooth audio technology such as aptX and aptX HD mean you can get the same high quality sound wirelessly as if you were plugged in. Unfortunately, I do not have any devices that are compatible with aptX HD (yet) so I was not able to test these cans at the highest resolution. However, I was able to test via aptX using a high fidelity streaming service. It sounded incredible. You wouldn’t know that you were listening to these over wireless, it sounded just like CD-quality or better. Compared to the other wireless headphones I have these are up there and will be my new favorite unless I need noise cancelling. I did not experience any skips with the Bluetooth connection either. Honestly, I really don’t have an issue with that on any of my wireless cans unless I get more than about 20-25 feet from the wireless source. Phone Calls - I’ve also used the headphones to conduct a few business meetings over the phone. Call quality is good, I do not have any issues hearing people and no one reported issues hearing me. Sound Leakage - For those not familiar with the term is defined as when the headphones leak sound to others around you. Glad to report these do not seem to do that, even on full volume. Definitely a plus. Comfort - These headphones are very comfortable, probably more comfortable than the others I have. I can wear them for hours while working. So are there some downsides? Yes, a few minor ones: One, while I appreciate that it can stay paired with eight devices at a time it cannot connect to another device while it’s connected to the last device. This becomes a problem if I want to switch the device they are connected to. For example, if I was last using them with my phone, then when I turn them on, it automatically connects to my phone. I have to pull my phone out of my pocket, disconnect it, then reconnect from my laptop. It's a hassle. These headphones really need a way to connect them to another device easily. I have another set of cans that can connect to two devices at once and I wish these had this feature as well as I’m constantly connected to my laptop and then want to be on my phone as well when a call comes in. Two, the ‘tap pad’ as they call it on the left earcup to control playback, answer calls, etc., can take some getting used to. I’m not sure why AT didn’t just make this a button. Finally, these are not noise cancelling headphones so don’t expect to get good use of them on a plane or mowing the grass, etc. This is not really a negative, as noise cancelling can give you a sound that is not true to source. However, it is something to note if you are thinking of buying these for travel or use in noisy environments. Also, it does not come with a hard protective case case like most headphones in this price range. It comes with a sack with a drawstring. All-in-all, these are a great pair of wireless headphones for listening to music, movies, pretty much anything except if you are traveling or frequently in noisy environments.

This headphone provides good mids IMO. It has a forward sounds on the vocal. It shines when you play women vocal focus songs. Not so much base and the highs does not extend to far IMO. The battery life of this is not bad but I wish it was build with better plastics. It feels a bit cheap to the touch fore $300 when i bought this.
