These are good and offer great clarity. In store demo did not resemble the actual sound. Vocals are brought forward and everything else kinda kick back with present but not boomy bass and lack of 3.5 headphone Jack just didn't work for me. But for what they do, they are good headphones if you like your sound more natural.

I wanted to put reviews for this item since quite sometime. Its been 2 months since I purchase this product. And I am completely satisfied with my purchase decision. Previously I purchased Sony 1000xm2 but I did not like the sound quality of those headset, so I returned it within a week and purchased this one. Also I compared audio from boss and other similar headset but I really like audio from this headset because it produce natural audio sounds. Regards Yogesh

I"ve spent a few days putting this headset through its paces, and have reached my own conclusions; however, before writing I wanted to read some of the other reviews to see if others are in the same vein as me. As another reviewer stated, headphones are a highly subjective area - what's good for me might not appeal to you. You buy them for a myriad of purposes, and what works well for one application is not so good for another. I would place these in the "relaxing home in your lounger listening to your home theater or stereo" category. The unboxing of this set is an experience - the box within a box opening into a jewelry style display on soft cloth is impressive. While it doesn't come with a carry case, the leatherette style storage bag is nicely done. The unit itself is nice to the touch with glove soft leather for the earpieces and headband; and feels well constructed in spite of the use of plastic enclosures as opposed to using an aluminum or other metal body. Very comfortable and adjustable, they cover the ear plushly and the headband is soft to the head. While not noise cancelling, the excellent fit knocks out a lot of ambient noise. I'm not one to delve into the specs, there are plenty of resources out there if you want them - the point is... how do they work? My first goal was to check them for latency - I recently had a chance to try out a new Bose Soundsport Revolve portable speaker. First thing I did was to pull up a youtube music video on my phone. I was very disappointed to see quite a delay causing a bad case of lip sync. So I figured that was a good place to start. My phone is a 6 month old Google Pixel, so pretty recent technology. I was happy to see the Audio Technica passed the first test - no discernible lip sync - yea! That means I can use these not only for music, but can enjoy them with my tv & home theater. Now on to why I really wanted a quality set of headphones - my extensive vinyl record collection which I wanted to enjoy in peace without disturbing the rest of the family - including the dogs! My equipment is vintage McIntosh - so no built in bluetooth. I picked up a TaoTronics bluetooth transmitter, plugged into the Mac's outputs, and voila - instant bluetooth. I was pleased with the result - crisp, clean sound, no interruptions, overall excellent quality. A little bit of acceptable tape hiss during quiet passages. If you don't know, there are various levels & codecs to bluetooth transmission, the led's on the AT's are able to tell you which codec you are currently connected with, which is a nice feature. The better your transmission is, the better the quality of sound you will receive. One issue that kept coming up in other reviews is a low bass level. I tend to agree with the other reviewers in that I would have liked to see a bit more bass response. It's good, but definitely not in your face. If you're listening at home, you can use your tone controls/equalizer to compensate, but if you're looking for boom box or high power car stereo type of bass, maybe this is not for you. The other issue that caused me to downgrade from a 5 star review is the volume control & tap feature. It just didn't seem intuitive to me, I seemed to fumble every time i reached for it. That and the fact that the volume switch appeared a little cheap for an otherwise well done piece. Another concern for the long term is the lack of a replaceable battery. I'd like to know that after a couple of years of use I could pop in a new battery, but this seems to be an industry wide issue rather than a product specific one - your phone's battery goes dead, throw it out, or go for a big repair bill. It's the sign of the times - everything's disposable.

High Quality/Clear Wireless Sound - Lacks Loudness

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Audio-Technica ATH-DSR7BT do deliver on their claim of producing a clean and crisp wireless signal equivalent to a wired connection, but the device has a few flaws that may lead you to look at other Audio-Technica headphones available from Best Buy. The main feature of these specific headphones is its ability to keep the audio signal completely digital from the source (e.g. cell phone) to the driver coils within the headphones. This process takes place via a Bluetooth connection only. There isn't a headphone jack available for a wired connection (a limitation I'll touch on later). This complete digital connection does produce a very clear signal, something most Bluetooth headphones can't produce. The headphones do an excellent job replicating a wide sound field, but they do not put an emphasis on bass. The low frequencies are present, but if you're looking for a headphone that produces heavy bass, you may want to look at their Solid Bass line at Best Buy. The main reason why I could only assign 4 stars is due to the headphones inability to get loud. With the volume all the way up (at the source and on the volume control on the headphone), the sound does get loud, but tops-off at a level that may not be sufficient for some listeners. I, for example, like to crank my rock music to levels that are probably unhealthy, but was unable to get the headphone to produce the loudness level I was accustomed to. Having encountered this issue before with other large over-the-ear headphones, the problem is usually due to the source not being powerful enough to drive the headphones louder. This can be overcome by a decent inline headphone amp. However, given that these headphones were meant to be wireless, and lack a headphone jack, using an amp wasn't possible. This was disappointing to me considering the quality hardware inside the headphones. A couple of other things to note is the touch control and the volume rocker. There is a little fingernail size square on the outside housing of the left earphone. It responds to your touch (capacitive sensor like a cellphone screen) via a simple tap to pause your music or answer a call. It takes a little getting used to at first, but once you get use to the location on the housing, it's a convenient feature, especially if you’re away from your device. A note regarding the volume rocker. It's also located on the outer housing of the left earphone. To increase the volume, you slide the button in one direction, vice-versa to lower it. However, if you slide and hold the button in one direction, the headphones are programmed to skip ahead or return to the previous song, rather than quickly raising or lowering the volume. This led me to keep the volume on the headphone at max at all times and just control the volume from my device. Overall these are high quality headphones that produce good sound. Their wireless technology worked flawlessly; it paired via NFC easily and maintained a good signal for the advertised 30 feet. But it's really hard to recommend them given it's limitation in loudness. They do however, connect to a computer with a USB cable for the purposes of playing high-resolution audio. Maybe this connection can be utilized by Audio-Technica in the future for a firmware update that will address the loudness issue. Until then, if you’re looking for solid headphones without an emphasis on bass, and don't require them to get extremely loud, and you have the cash to pay for a quality high-end product, these might be the headphones for you.

    Balanced sound but lack bass.

These headphones produce good, balanced, and natural sounds without over emphasizing the bass, so if you prefer heavy bass then these might not be for you. These sound great wired, while wireless will have an audible hiss in the background. Sounds are full, and vocals are clear, but the percussion and bass can a bit lacking. Battery life does seem to last a while. Controls overall are fine and works with your devices like they should. These aren’t as comfortable to wear as my other headphones, with the cup being smaller and more narrow, and they squeeze down tight. Good: -Sounds are great, especially when using wired connection -Battery life -Relatively compact Bad: -Wireless will have a hiss -Range is less than advertised, about 20 feet before signal start dropping -Touch control seems pointless -Wired with USB only, no 3.5mm Neutral -Comfort Don’t let the negatives I listed sway you. Those are mostly nitpicking. The most important thing is that these can sound really good. Setting up: These are simple to connect and it remembers multiple devices so you don’t have to resync it when switching from one to another. I was able to set it up with my receiver, PS4, computer, and my ipad mini. Sound: I’m no audiophile, but these headphones may get mixed reviews. For listeners that doesn’t like to crank up the bass and tweak with levels, these are probably just right. I tested both wired and wireless with wired connection being the optimal choice, which produced clear vocals and overall immersive instruments. Wireless will see a slight drop in sound quality and a constant hiss in the background. The hiss is normal for wireless headphones, but this feels louder than the rest. These are best for music and are alright for movies and gaming. Since it lacks bass, you don’t get much of an impact of explosions and other sound effects. Functionality: Overall the controls are fine. Bluetooth integrate fine with my device and function as one should, but the touch “button” takes some getting used to and leaves me to ask why not just make it an actual button. The touch feature is a small spot next to the volume that lets you play/pause, answer calls, check battery level, and activate Siri with different taps. Often time, I find myself accidentally touching it while adjusting or when I’m trying to feel for the volume buttons. The volume buttons also controls the skip/prev during playing back if you hold it. The battery life does seem to be able to last as advertised. I had it running for a few hours continuously and still had 80% battery life. The advertised range, however, didn’t fair as well. It says 30 meters, but after 20 feet of clear line of sight, the signal started to drop. Comfort is subjective, but to me, these aren’t as comfortable to wear compared to my other headsets. I can only wear them for about 20-30 minutes at a time. The cups are smaller and narrower and they squeeze down quite a bit. The foam isn’t as thick either. I also wish that it came with an additional 3.5mm jack. Maybe a USB to 3.5 adapter will work.

headphones are of course largely subjective to a certain degree. some prefer accurate reproduction, some prefer more ‘excitement’ in their sound, others like heavier low end and some will prefer mids or highs. at the end of the day, a review has to pick one area and give an all around score in my opinion. i personally tend to prefer a more exciting and engaging sound, balanced in all spectrums with neither too much of any given frequency pushing forward (maybe just a tad more V shaped than “flat”). with that in mind, here’s my take on these headphones. the good: -comfort - while maybe not quite as comfortable as some of the Bose lineup, the plush ear pads and over hear design lead to a very comfortable headphone. i felt essentially no physical fatigue wearing these over long listening sessions. -nice design - Audio Technica and Sony seem to have a very similar design strategy, where certain models of their products resemble each other quite a bit. that fact aside, these are very stylish looking headphones in my opinion. -codec support - SBC, AAC, aptX all supported. lights on the side of the phones tell you which is in use at any given moment, which is a nice touch. -15 hour battery life - there are certainly headphones with longer as well as shorter battery life. at 15 hours, they are at least good enough for a typical day’s use. -remembers previous 8 devices paired with the bad: -touch sensitive button - i personally find this to be the biggest flaw in these headphones. i would much prefer a tactile button to know when or if i’d pushed it. i have trouble finding this little spot to either hit or swipe, and often i either double tap it or miss it completely. -lack of physical bluetooth pairing button - if there is one, i can’t physically find it or mention of it in the user manual. the only way i’ve found to pair with multiple devices is to make sure it’s not able to find any previous ones. it then goes into automatic pairing mode and i'm able to pare with a new device. -no included physical case -cannot be played via cable, only wireless could be good or bad, depending on your taste: -somewhat moderately V shaped sound signature. i found them to be quite engaging and fun to listen to, for different types of music and movies as well. at higher volumes, i heard some slight sibilance. some might find them a bit fatiguing over longer listening sessions at higher volumes, where perhaps slightly rolled treble wouldn’t be. -no ANC. depending on your usage, this may not be an issue. i have yet to try them on a plane, so i can’t speak to their passive noise cancelling, but for my daily use i don’t find it a problem. overall: very nice sounding pair of wireless cans with only a few caveats in my opinion. a solid option in this price range.

The best BT headphones for easy listening

I own many different headphones, and use each one depending on activity and music genre. This is my first over-the-ear type headphone, and I was very impressed. I am not an audiophile, but I do appreciate a great music listening experience, and these deliver. These are promoted as being the first all digital Bluetooth headphones without relying on digital to analog conversion. Even though I cannot say if this technology makes music sound better, I can say these headphones sound amazingly crystal clear. The sound was so great, that many songs sounded as if they were remastered or even rerecorded. I read that these headphones can reproduce Hi-Res audio when connected to a computer or other digital playback device using the included USB cable, but I didn’t notice a difference. These headphones are now my first pick to listen to classic rock and instrumental music. I could not believe how much better those songs sounded compared to the other headphones I own. The adjustable band allows these headphones to fit any size. The Bluetooth connection is made easy with NFC (narrow field communication). Just touch your NTC enabled phone to the NFC symbol and you are all set up. The controls are easy to use and well placed, but I would accidentally hit the pause/play/phone sensor if I lifted the ear pad to have a conversation. The volume up/down buttons can be held in place to skip or repeat a song. The LED lights on the side can mean so many things (you can read about this in the manual), but I use them only to see how much battery is left. There are a few improvements I would like to see Audio-Technica make: 1. An optional 3.5 mm stereo connector added. 2. Another driver for bass. 3. Allow wall-charging while using (charge while listening on the computer). Even though you can use these for a phone call, I would recommend a Bluetooth headset instead. The caller sounded distant and said I sounded the same. I would not use my Jawbone to listen to music, nor would I use these on a conference call, but it is a nice feature if needed. Pros Passively blocks out surrounding noises/sounds Clearest sounding headphones Transforms familiar songs into a new listening experience Comfortable for long use Cons Traps heat, just like all over-the-ear headphones I’ve tried Has no optional 3.5 mm stereo connector Cannot be used while wall charging Bass is unimpressive These headphones are pricey, but worth the money. I would recommend these for easy listening and passive sound blocking. However, do not purchase these if you are looking for a lot of bass and distortion.

The Audio Technica is a over the ear Bluetooth headset that holds back no punches when it comes to audio clarity and sound quality. Right out of the box the headphones look like they are built of good quality and contain a very sleek and stylish look. Along with the headset you are given a traveling pouch and micro usb cable. The one thing i found weird was the fact that they give you a usb cable to charge it but no power adapter to dock it to. So you end up having to charge the headset on your computer or use the same power adapter your cellphone uses if its a micro usb. It takes about 5 hours to fully charge the head set and so far i have gotten a little over 10 hours of battery life. Now this headset will allow you to hook up to any computer, laptop or mobile device. It also allows for hands free calling so you can accept calls and make calls all through your headset. Also there is a feature built in to the headset that allows you to pull up your personal A.I. assistant (i.e. siri or google assistant) on your cellphone all with the touch of a button on the headset. Linking the device is as simple as any bluetooth device and takes a matter of seconds. Also the headset allows for ease of linking via the NFC tethering capability. Basically if the device provides NFC, which most cellphones do, simply touch the two devices together and they will tether or link up. There is one feature i did not like however, and that is the pause/play button. The button you use to answer calls or pause/play your music seems to use a type of optical sensor that sits on the back of the left ear phone directly above the volume button. The sensor is flush with the headset making it harder to find when your wearing the headphones, but the real problem i ran across was that the sensor was so sensitive that when i would go to raise the volume on the headset my finger would accidentally brush the sensor and it would constantly stop or play my music. Also when i would get a call i would be stumbling around trying to find that sensor so i could pick up the phone call. Not a huge problem or even a big enough set back just more of a nuisance then anything. Now lets get to the sound quality. The quality is awesome, you can hear everything crystal clear and i mean everything. Now don't make the same mistake i did. When i first put the headset on i was not impressed with the quality or sound. Reason being is this headset is a quality built headset and requires you adjust the sound properly via an equalizer. Once i dialed in my equalizer i truly saw the capability of what these headsets can produce. I listen to all kinds of music but what i truly like is deep sounding bass. Now depending on the quality and type of equalizer you are using these headphones had no problem putting out deep rich bass sound without taking away from my vocals or my mids and highs. Truly when i was listening to my music it was so clean it almost sounded like i was listening to the same track for the very first time. I was a little worried about sound quality and drop offs with this being a bluetooth device but the audio processor that has been put in the headsets had no problem or issues whatsoever. The Audio Technica also does an awesome job keeping out outside noises so that you can truly enjoy your sound quality. Now as far as how you want to use them you should have no problem using them in any workout routines rather it be cycling, running, weight lifting or even doing sit ups. These headsets fit firmly on your head without taking away from any comfort. All in all this headset is a no brainer for me. It provides everything your going to want and need from a good quality headset.

    Amazing Audio and Build Quality

PROS: - Long battery life - Great sound quality - Comfortable to wear for long periods of time, even with glasses - Make and receive calls - Can activate Google Assistant with tap controller CONS: - Easy to hit the tap control by accident when increasing the volume or trying to skip tracks - May not be able to use when connected to laptop with only USB-C ports Audio-Technica is one of my favorite headphone manufacturers, I've always loved both their sound and build quality, so when I wanted to get a nice pair of bluetooth headphones it was an easy decision to pick these up. After unboxing them, I connected them to my laptop to charge up before using (I'll talk more about connecting to a PC in a moment). They charged up quicker than I expected, but that was probably due to shipping with a decent charge. Still, it's a good idea to fully charge a new device before using. Audio-Technica claims you can get about 15 hours from these, and they're not kidding. Your mileage may vary, but with low volume, I was able to get a little over 16 hours over three days of use on these. Audio quality is, as expected, really great. These are closed-back headphones with leather ear cups, so you get really decent noise isolation. Sound leak is very minor, especially if you listen to music at a lower volume, making these great for listening to music while studying in a library. Pairing these with my phone and laptop was very quick and easy. You also have the option to pair these with your phone via NFC if you want. The bluetooth connection was great, but I did notice occasional connection issues (about once an hour) when paired with my 2016 HP Spectre 13. When connected to my Samsung S7, I didn't notice any connection issues whatsoever, so it may just be my laptop. Speaking of connecting to my laptop, I was unable to use the headphones while charging from my laptop. My laptop only has USB-C ports, which might be the problem. The including cable for charging and higher-quality listening is a USB-A to micro USB. If your laptop has USB-A ports, you probably won't run into the same problem I did. This is really my only complaint about the headphones, I wish that they went with USB-C, but it's not a dealbreaker. BOTTOM LINE: These live up to the Audio-Technica reputation for great sound and build quality, but I wish they went with USB-C for charging and connecting to your computer. You might not get the full experience if you have a computer with only USB-C ports. This isn't a dealbreaker, since you likely want these for wireless listening, which you'll enjoy for long periods of time before you need to charge them up thanks to their roughly 15 hours of battery life (depending on your usage).

Let me start off by saying I've had several different brands of bluetooth headphones. So I have a little bit of experience with them. These are on the top end of the spectrum for what I've tested. It doesn't mean they are the best, but they are a very sold choice for the money. Pros: Battery life, comfort, noise canceling, great sound. Cons: Price, controls could be better but this is a minor complaint. Battery life is outstanding on these. I love being able to listen to them on several different instances without worrying about charging them. These headphones are also very comfortable. I've worn them for a few hours with no complaints. As with any over the ear design, the heat can become an issue. These aren't any better or worse than others I've worn as far as that goes. Sound quality is great and works well for both music and speech. I listen to a lot of audio books and music so this is important. Bass is full but not overpowering and the highs are great. You'll notice a lot more detail in the music that you simply miss from less quality models. Overall, these are a great pair of headphones and the sound quality make them an easy recommendation. Add to that the great battery life and you have a winner!

It's been some time since I've looked at expensive headphones as I've had a pair that have worked well for me for a number of years and have not needed another. Those, however, are wired, so I was interested in a bluetooth set that is of high quality so as to be able to use them when a wire might get in the way. Upon receiving these Audio-Technica ATH-DSR7BT I was immediately impressed by the quality of the packaging, the construction of the headphones themselves, and how comfortable they are on my head and around my ears. They are lightweight without feeling cheap, have an interesting set of touch pads on the side for controlling song and call options, and a small set of switches for power and volume. Setup was extremely straightforward, since I was pairing them with my phone, I decided to try the NFC pairing. It took seconds, all I did was enable the NFC function on my phone and hold it up to the symbol on the headset. That's it, done, paired and functioning. No searching bluetooth, no entering the code, one swipe with my device and it was all set up. I cant say as I've ever had something pair to my phone with such ease, it was quite a nice experience. First, I decided to listen to an audiobook through them. The quality of the voice of the narrator was very good, if a little heavy on the treble. The only thing I seemed to have any real trouble with, is that they dont get terribly loud. With the volume all the way up on my phone and all the way up on the headphones, the narrator of the book still only sounded maybe slightly louder than conversational, which was a little bit of a disappointment. So I decided to listen to some music. It did seem to handle the volume on music a little better, though it's still impossible to get them loud enough to be anything approaching painful. Not that I would recommend someone trying to blow out their eardrums, but at max volume, it was just on the edge of what I would call 'loud'. While listening to music I was again struck by it sounding a bit on the tinny side, and unfortunately when there were a lot of bass instruments, the sound would get a little bit muddy on the lows.... Really what it comes down to is that if you're looking for a very very comfortable set of headphones with easy bluetooth connectivity and decent, if not great, audio quality, then these are them. I really wish the audio quality was a touch better, but it isn't bad by any means. At this price I would have to say they are a bit too much for what you get, but if caught on sale, then they would be well worth the purchase price.
