This is without a doubt one of the nicest sounding headphones that I've had the pleasure of listening to in quite some time. The treble is sharp without being piercing, the bass is powerful without being muddy. The midrange is nice and clear, and the sound stage is wide with excellent instrumental separation. Wearing a set of studio cans like this really lets you appreciate the hard work of the sound engineers, the unsung heroes of the music world. The headphones have a nice build quality, though it does take a minute to figure out how to get them to fold up in on themselves if you're used to the "turn the earcups sideways & flat" style headphones. When they are folded up, they take up about the same room as two soda cans side by side. The earcups are nice and large, and fit completely over my ears without smushing them. I like that the power is a sliding switch rather than a button, so that I don't confuse it when adjusting the volume, and so that I'm not sitting there holding down a power button until I get the bluetooth connection confirmation like how many other models work. There is a big ol' voice assistant button taking up the side of one of the earpieces to trigger Siri/Google assistant depending on your phone OS. Perhaps the most important feature is the included cable to allow you to plug the headphones into any headphone jack (if your phone still has one *grumble*), so you can use the headphones without having to pair and re-pair to your different devices, and also so you can use them when you're out of battery and away from a charger. The charger is micro-USB, and while I'd love to have seen them use USB-C, it's still better than some proprietary port.

    The M50X Legend Lives wire-free!!!

These are incredible. A few "audiophile" buddies of mine swear by the AT M50 and M50x's - And after trying theirs, Ive been a bit ruined on headphones... They made my current over-ear headphones seem artificial, and lacking in mid clarity... But I put up with it because my former cans were wireless/wired switchable. Something I didn't think I'd ever see from a purist like the M50x... And if I did, surely it would be a compromised sound quality being wireless. I was proven wrong with the M50xBTs - Not only is this EXACTLY what I'd hoped for in getting the perfect pair of wireless headphones, but the folks at AudioTechnica refused to compromise on audio quality in going wireless. These support APT-X and AAC codecs, and are finely tuned to be consistent (at least to my ears) between wired and wireless experiences... But still offer a wired experience when charge depletes, or a copper transfer is desired by the user. Speaking of charge, they're rated at 40h of battery life... Ive only used them for a week when I had time, and I've yet to deplete them. Absolutely perfect. Worth every penny. It gives me hope for the world when high-quality, uncompromised products are still available.

    Not for enjoying music

These are meant for people that mix music, use headphones for editing voiceovers and or YouTube videos, and for listening to podcasts. Those are the only things these should be used for. Do not try to listen to these for any music enjoyment. These sound bland and lifeless. The original Ath-M50X are better for listening to music than these in my opinion.

A very pleasant sound quality ideal for listening music directly from your audio player (or phone), particularly in spaces with medium/low noise (like the bus), the sound is deep and clean. Easy to connect by Bluetooth (they also include a wire for a direct connection), the sync is almost immediate. I really enjoy the appearance and the resistance, it’s clearly a hardy built headphone that can handle without major problems the requirements of my daily commute they also looks classy and elegant. As part of the purchase you receive a leather bag that keeps them protected when they are transported in the bag pack. It’s also a great deal the battery power that this equipment is providing (15 hrs). Other less good news: They are not noise canceling headphones and I am not sure why considering the price and the possibility of beating the competency. They are good for music or movies, average for phone calls (the mic power seems not impressive) and not ok for gaming. The controls are in one of the headphone and to fit in there the size of the controls has been reduced, making the use not always intuitive. Most of the times, controlling sound changes/stops the music. Globally, I like them but not sure that go on top of my list due to the disparity of its performances.

I have hearing problems and have a couple different brands of Bluetooth wireless headsets, one of which I use almost daily for my phone while at home. While they work really well I wanted something that had really good sound quality at least as good as my wired Sony or better. I saw that the Audio Technica brand had good reviews and wanted to give the ATH M50XBT wireless set a try, I couldn’t be happier. For starters these are a full over the ear headset where all my other headsets are on the ear, never really liked over the ear ones due to heat. These are very well built, sturdy, light weight for their size and for me they are very comfortable. They came packaged in a nice cloth lined box and included a stereo cable, USB charging cable, carrying pouch, and manual. After unboxing and reading through the manual I charged them up. Now, the manual states to only use the included cable to charge them with, but its short, and I happen to have a bunch of micro USB cables laying around so I tried out one already hooked to my 5 port charger and they seemed to charge with it so I’ll just stick to using that since that cable is 6’. Once charged up I initially wanted to try them hooked directly to my LG V40 and try out the fancy audio processor in it. The manual stated that you don’t have to turn these on to use the included audio cable and just use them as a pass through, “Nice”, and I can say that works perfectly well too. The sound quality listening to various music was clean, clear and with plenty of bass for my taste, “even with my hearing problems” I hadn’t heard music sound as good in a long time even comparing it to my other Sony and Jabra headsets. Next I hooked it up to my laptop via audio cable and played a little Witcher 3, and wow, the sound was so much better than with any of my other headsets, I just couldn’t believe it. Even had my wife listen and see if she thought they sounded good “she doesn’t have hearing problems” and by the look on her face I could tell they sounded really good, afterwards she said she was very impressed with how the sound effects in Witcher were more surround and what she expected. I had actually forgotten these were also wireless, was enjoying using them as pass-through that I had not paired them up to try them out for almost a day, “oops”. I paired them up with a couple phones I have here, a LG V40 and a Sony XZ2, both worked perfectly, I could answer calls and listen to music without problem. The only thing is if it’s connected by Bluetooth they don’t sound as good when directly connected to the V40 but it’s pretty close. I walked around the house, and the connection stayed pretty solid till I went out into the garage and shut the door. So after about 35’ the sound started cutting out, but only after I had shut the door, not bad at all for a Bluetooth headset and it compares right up there with my Jabra set. Next I paired them up with my Bluetooth transmitter for my TV and it worked like a charm. The TVs sound was nice and clear, and I could easily make out the conversations “without some sort of hearing device I cannot make out conversations easily”. I could actually walk out to the kitchen and other bedrooms and still hear the TV perfectly. My only real complaint is that the volume and function buttons are sort of small and hard to find quickly, “much easier on my Jabra headset” and it takes me a little bit of fumbling around to figure out which is which as there’s really nothing on them for touch feedback telling you which is which. The included charging cable is a little too short for me, and it would be nice if the stereo cable was a little longer but that’s nothing an extension can’t solve. If you are wanting an excellent set of headphones that “for me” sound very clean and clear, that also have the ability to be used as a pass through device and not use up battery time then these are a great set of headphones for you to take a look at. I never had a problem with heat building up and while watching a movie that was just over 2hrs they remained comfortable.

I've always heard great things about Audio-Technica's ATH-M50 line of headphones. I own a lot of headphones even though I would never consider myself a real "audiophile". My music comes from Apple Music and Spotify and I listen to a lot of podcasts. I don't do lossless, so if this is an important quality in a reviewer, you might be better served to find a different review. That said, these are the best sounding headphones I've ever used. Setup was a breeze. As soon as I turned them on the first time, they popped up on my phone's list of Bluetooth devices ready to connect. One more tap and I was connected. I downloaded the app to see if there were any settings I could tweak but the app is extremely limited. These headphones were designed to work the way they come, I guess and that's fine. The only thing I would have enjoyed out of the app would be the ability to turn on some sort of side-tone so I could hear myself and my surroundings if I needed to. If this feature exists somewhere else, I haven't found it yet. Sound quality was excellent! I was really surprised. Like I said earlier. I've tested more headphones that I've ever really needed to. Most of them are bluetooth so I'm comparing apples to apples here. Some of them are fully wireless earbuds that sound OK. Some of them are full ear cups that some pretty good. This set blows everything else out of the water. Not being an audiophile, I can't really explain the reasons I think they sound so good. It's just something that happened as soon as I turned on my first song and I kept feeling amazed as I kept playing more and different music. They just sound really good and well rounded. Nice bass. "Crisp" everything else. Especially for bluetooth headphones, I can't imagine noticing a huge difference on a wired pair of these. Comfort is pretty good. I don't feel like I have large ears but the cups did "touch" the sides of my ear lobes so if you're looking for a set that completely covers your ears without touching them, this might not be for you. If that's not that important to you, it wasn't that uncomfortable, regardless. The weight felt good on my head. They were tight enough to not slide around but not too tight to hurt. My only complaint about the fit is after a little while, my ears felt a little warm when I took them off. TLDR; This is a great pair of headphones. I can't comment on pricing but just off the top of my head, I can't imagine there being much competition with this set at this price point. They sound amazing. They feel pretty comfortable. Setup was a breeze. It's a no brainer if you're looking for a great headset at this price range.

These are truly great. I used to have the m50x, and when I saw the bluetooth version I jumped on it. The battery life is outstanding, and the sound is just about as good. These are the headphones to get for great all around sound in a wireless package. Good bass without overpowering, excellent mids and highs. There's no active noise cancelling but that's ok because there's a bit of passive cancellation. The only downside I can think of is there's a very, very quiet electrical hum when no music is playing, but it's impossible to hear with even quiet music playing.

I like the design of these from the side but could do without the branding across the top. They fold up nicely and are very adjustable, providing a comfortable, secure fit. The sound is good, although I can hear a very faint background noise in the right side. It's usually not noticeable unless I'm in a very quiet environment with the volume turned low. These also suffer from putting all the controls on one side. Instead of having dedicated forward and reverse skip buttons, the volume up and down buttons are used for both functions, requiring you to hold them down for two seconds to skip forward or back. They're good headphones, but not without some minor drawbacks.

I have used Audio-Technica brand headphones several times in the past and their wireless ATH M50XBT Wireless over the ear headphones do not disappoint. The audio quality and feel of the headphones overall is much better than much higher priced headphones that seem to be much more popular due to endorsements. I wish that people would do the research and see that Audio-Technica makes outstanding headphones far and above other brands.

Let me start by saying these are 100 dollar headphones. These are not audiophile grade units. Now that we understand price range, I will say that these are fantastic. Personally i don't like earbuds, you probably don't either or you wouldn't be looking at this pair of headphones. The packaging isn't clear on what type of headphones they are. They are around the ear style.Anyway, onto the good stuff. these headphones are fully charged out of the box. they are super simple to connect to any device. Literally a couple of clicks and you are up and running. The included 3.5mm wired jack is 50 inches long. The bluetooth range on these guys is excellent. For what most people will use these for , you will be more than happy. Now for the bad news, The charging cable is a grand total of 12 inches long. And its not compatible with anything that charges at 5v. Most new phones use those. There is no battery life indicator. In closing the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT is a great option for those who dislike earbuds or on- ear headphones, sound quality is the same so is the price.
