It increases the headunit voltage out to the amp. Accubass works but the type of sound i get overall with this device is meh. Audio control made a great product that does what it sais it does. I just do not like how it sounds some times but overall i would reccomend this product to anyone looking to keep their head unit stock and go aftermarket for audio.

Garbage that destroys any semblance of sound.

All I have gotten from the Techs is blame on the JBL system. This device is missing the controls (thrown out by the techs?) and completely screws up Bass response at the very expensive amp. Bass comes on suddenly as either loud and thumping or NOT AT ALL. Crossover settings? Remote is missing. The whole this is very poor. I am very disappointed in the install, and now I have to wait 4 weeks to get it tuned properly
