Although it makes me feel a little lazy, I just love the August lock! It's great to be able to control it with my voice (through Alexa) when inside and phone from without. It's also nice to have it automatically unlock via blue tooth when I approach the door so I don't have to fumble around for my keys. The only thing I was not aware of which was my own fault is that I needed to make the additional purchase of a bridge to the wifi network so I can control it via the network when I'm not away should someone come to the house that I want to let in. Overall thought, great lock and love it hus far.

I wish I did not have to buy this unit to enable Alexa connectivity. It costs a lot for what it does. The range of the bluetooth to connect with the lock is very, very short. The wifi connectivity is ok, haven't had any drops yet. Setup was easy and I am very lucky that there was a plug just under 3 feet from the lock. But if you do not have a way to get this unit closer than 3 feet to the lock, do not buy this.

Setting up the Ac-r1 adapter was not easy. Instructions indicate it shouldn't be 15 feet away from the WiFi hotspot or the smart lock; I found a plug that met the 15' requirement; but, was unsuccessful in synching with the app various times. After moving it to the next closest plug, which was actually further from the WIFi, the adapter was happy - strange. That whole ordeal took about 30-40 minutes; but, ever since the adapter has worked fine for the last 6 weeks or so. Xfinity Home seems to take about 20 seconds to find the lock every time the app is launched; but, I don't know if that's a Comcast issue or August issue. When using the August app, it's pretty reliable.

I love the idea of able to see my locks unlocking and locking, specially if I am out of town and my wife and little one are home alone, but if it works, I have connect August connect literally two arm lengths away, and yet it takes minutes before it connects(if it connects). Both WiFi signal and connect signal is at excellent levels on the app, but time to time it fails to work remotely. They need to improve connectivity issues and improve response time. I have home automation running on IFTTT for other things and that works immediately over the cloud. Giving it two stars until they make this product production ready

If you are looking for full access to your August Door Lock device from anywhere in the world, you must purchase this wifi-bridge. Works like a charm. Easy set up

Got this so I can control the August Smart Lock via Wi-Fi. Setup was very quick and simple. Just plug it into an outlet near your door, connect it in the August Home app and you are all done. Now I can check door lock status, lock, and unlock remotely via Wi-Fi (without Connect only Bluetooth is used to control the lock).

I bought this to enable my August lock to be utilized from anywhere. It does work. My only issue is with its range. I have placed it in the outlet closest to my lock. It is, maybe, 3 feet away. It is on the opposite side of an interior wall. The issue is, that it tells me that it is getting weak signal from the lock and I need to move it closer. I can't move it any closer than that. This is potentially an issue, but seems to be working ok for now.

This is a needed item to go with the August lock for off prem use. The company now has started putting these with the lock when buying. Smart move!

this Wi-Fi bridge is required by the system that I have installed to make everything sync up. it does exactly what it is supposed to.

No clue that we needed this little guy. Nowhere in any comercial or ad did it say you’d need to buy this on top of the already expensive August door lock. So we had to get it since we couldn’t unlock or lock our door from anywhere else besides when we were home. This adds the comfort of being able to do what the comercial advertises. A few hoops to jump through but over all ok. Oh yeah and good luck getting it to connect with your lock, we had to hook it up to an extension cord and literally have it in line of sight of the lock for it to function. Good lock and tech but the idea is wayyy ahead of its current capabilities.

I purchased this along with the August Smart Lock so I could access the lock remotely. The unit is quite small which is great as it needs to be plugged in very close to the lock and its not really noticeable. It connected to the lock and my wi-fi without any issues. It seems to work quite well and I have successfully accessed the lock remotely.

Serves it purpose. I wish this was somehow incorporated in the lock itself but I can see how that would be impossible.

I purchased this to be able to lock and unlock for friends that want to use the cabin and I won't have to give them a key. It's not working all the time, but I am working on it, as it could be user error!

It has to be very close to the lock for it to make a connection. This was okay for me, but I can see how it would be cumbersome to some. They should have just built this function into the lock itself.

This is very easy to install and use. Unfortunately it needs to be within 20 feet to work with August lock.

It works great for enabling remote access to your August locks. It is expensive, though, for what it does.

It took many attempts with many different power outlets to get it to recognize our wifi. We finally got it to work correctly with an outlet that was out of the way and not recommended. The outlets that were next to the lock and next to the wifi router did not work oddly enough. It works in a power outlet about halfway between the wifi router and the august lock and I'm happy that it works as intended because it does make life much easier.

This is a great hub and works really well. I'm able to lock and unlock the door remotely using the app.

I first attempted installing this 5 feet away just around a corner in the bathroom off the main entrance. The unit was having issues not only seeing the door but the 5ghz WiFi in the house. Once I moved the unit further away (20 Feet) it connected better than when it was close. The instructions where not very helpful since it kept saying move it closer but in reality line of sight is the best option you have with these.

This works great with my new August deadbolt lock. I did not have any issues connecting to it.
