You can't have the August lock without the connect.

You need to wait like 2 min for open the door will be fine is take less time

The range is horrible on this...doesnt reach more than 10ft

Seems to connect when it wants to, not when you really really need it to.

Connect started working ok for 2 weeks. Has not worked in last 2 months. Tech support wants you to get off the phone by rebooting the phone. Tech support worked on Bluetooth & Battery of the lock when the issue is CONNECT not the lock. This I have tried with several tech support persons only one finally documented when I insisted on getting a case/reference number. I bought this to be convenience to give access to our family while we are away while we travel it has become a nightmare. Now it is over return policy and it is just an Expensive paper weight. Nobody wants to step up & Support !!!!!!

I bought this to be able to connect my August lock to my wifi network and use my Alexa to unlock my door. Unfortunately, I found that more often than not it would not reliably remain connected despite several attempts over the course of a week. I returned it.

PRODUCT WORKS EVERY NOW AND THEN TRIED TO GET SUPPORT FOR THE PRODUCT. STILL TRYING TO GET PRODUCT TO WORK CONSTANTLY BUT CAN'T MUST ALWAYS HAVE GO BACK INTO APP. AND IF YOUR LUCKY IT WORKS.

I added this to my Gen 2 lock to see if I could use that to add it to my alarm and alexa, but even though it was plugged in next to the lock, it would not keep online. I returned it. I am happy enough with the lock using HomeKit now.

After purchasing the August, I realized i had to purchase the Bridge to make it connect to the wi-fi. It wasn't until I installed everything that I found out that there are other devices that did not require a "bridge", and were wi-fi ready.

First item I purchased, just did not turn on. So I had to return it for a new one. Second one, turned on without an issue but it took a long time and multiple attempts to setup the connection. I installed the August connect only 1 feet away from the lock and I have great wifi coverage in that area (the wifi router is only 5 feet away from the connect). Despite that when I was checking the signal strenght, I was getting poor and weak signal for bluetooth and wifi! They have a long way to go for this ting to work right and worth the money.

I actually ended up returning this because it would not connect well to my lock from 5 feet away. I only bought it for my Alexa integration but was not worth the hassle. Maybe I had a bad one but I’m not sure.

If you have a Samsung cellphone then you may run into a major problem trying to install this bridge. Apparently the disconnected from WiFi notification that the phone gives while trying to set up the bridge causes the August app to crash. And you need the app to link the bridge to your WiFi network. So if you have a Samsung phone then you will need to have a non-Samsung phone handy to complete setup. This is beyond stupid, isn't Samsung the 2nd most popular cellphone brand? I am very upset that this wasn't disclosed somewhere on the product page.

It is supposed to wirelessly pair and then lock and unlock at my desire. It gets stuck a lot. It doesn't always work. It's been frustrating.

This is a bit finicky and tends to loose connect even though it's only three feet from the door. Love the lock but not this connect bridge.

using for august smart lock - disappointed because it must be located within 3 ft of device.

I noticed my device had to be 5 feet from the door and 10 ft from my wifi router in order for the system to say good connection.

The whole point of the August Connect is to allow you to lock / unlock anywhere you are. This probably would have worked if it actually stayed connected to the wi-fi signal. I have other connected home products and there were no issues with them so it couldn't have been my internet. The product would connect and then disconnect later. Not really what I was looking for when trying to create a connected home..

It did not link and did not work. I purchased this device to use with my August smart lock. The unit turned RED EVERYDAY . I was resetting it more than it worked. DO NOT BUY. I Purchased my August lock from Ebay ( brand new sealed box! WARNING they do not cover the warranty if it is not purchased from one of their authorized retailers

The connect is an accessory you have to buy in order for the august lock to work outside your home. This really should be included with the lock. I'm upset I have to spend additional money on this.

I didn't resize that you had to purchase of equipment to make this work.
