The product does what it says and allows me to integrate my August products into my home automation for external access outside of HomeKit. Easy setup experience. Anyone experiencing issues should make sure it is near their lock and have decent WiFi in that area.

I originally did not intend to purchase the Connect as I intended to have the August Bell which would have served as the bridge for my August Lock. When my August Bell turned out to be defective, I returned it and purchased this in order to still be able to remotely lock/unlock my door. It took a little bit of placement work to figure out the best location around my door to connect this to have the best connection with the door and my network, but it's been firmly in place for a few months now. This product certainly isn't for everyone, but if you're looking to have remote access to your August Lock, it certainly does its job fine enough. If you get a feeling of not knowing whether you locked your door or not, it's nice to be able to tap into the August app and connect to your lock and find out the status of it right away and lock/unlock it if necessary. I had one fun use case where a neighbor's dog got loose and came to our house. When I walked over to their home to return the dog, they invited me in to chat and for coffee. I wasn't going to interrupt to run back to the house to lock the door, so it was nice to just open the app on my phone and lock the door. Since we have a lot of visitors, it's also nice to be able to let them into the home if they arrive before we're home. No more need of leaving a spare key hidden somewhere in the front and hoping that someone doesn't go digging around the house for it. Now I can just open the app and let them in :)

Something so simple yet so expensive. It is very easy to set up and allows you to manage your August devices away from home.

I wish this technology was in the August Smartlock already so that we wouldn't need an adapter to plug in. This piece is extremely necessary if you plan to let family or friends into your house while you're away on business or vacation. There is some lag time between connecting to the lock while you're away from your home, but it does connect and works perfectly. A must need if you have the August Smartlock

Product work great. During the set up it had issues with a strong Bluetooth connection. It still works, but I think that may hinder the overall performance

Plug it in and forget about it. Enables you to unlock and lock the door from wherever.

I expect more from August. It constantly disconnects and rarely works on Alexa command. It is slow In Response and reliability. When it works properly it’s great. This is why I gave it a 2 star instead of 1. This is also frustrating to have to pay 60-70$ more to make this mobile.

only need this if you want to control your august smart lock over wifi or a cell network. If you only want to open your lock with bluetooth you don't need this. this only works with one lock so if you have two locks, you will need two of these

It's decent for what it is. It's in the same room as my wifi hub and it struggles to get more than 3 bars of wifi. It works. Makes your August door lock actually useable. It's a must for the door lock so it can see your position when your come within so many feet of your house and front door.

A bit buggy and a bit slow sometimes. Loses internet connection every once in a while. But I still love it.

Works well, even though the device claims it is either too far from the lock or the WiFi signal is too weak.

This was very easy to install, and works great, most of the time. So this is a great product, and even has geolocation that knows when you are pulling up to the house, and unlocks the door automatically. However, it only works about 90% of the time, so dont lose your keys.

Bought the August Smart Lock on a deal of the day! Great price, easy to install. Works perfect! I added wifi connect! Opens and locks doors automatically! My wife even loves it!

I originally used my August Lock without the Connect and had difficulty relying on Bluetooth alone. So I added the Connect device and connectivity to my lock has greatly improved. I think August should have included this with the lock in the first place. I’m glad I found mine on sale!

it's cool that you can control smart lock from remote location, but we don't use it as much. only thing I use it for is to check and make sure door is locked.

I could not imagine paying as much as we do on a smart lock and not adding the wifi bridge. This item allows you to view the status of your lock from anywhere and lock or unlock your door whenever necessary. For me this is the only way to complete the August Smartlock installation.

Bought the August connect so I can unlock the lock when away from home. Seems to work well but I do have a strong wirless signal and the connect is plugged in next to the lock on the front door. I haven't had any trouble connecting and operating the lock but it can be a little slow.

Easy to setup and work great all you need choice your wifi network you use at home.
