Easy to install and app has easy to follow directions. Generally works as intended but sometimes has issues communicating with HomeKit

So far, no issues. It locks the door when I leave the house, and unlocks when I arrive home. If I unlock it, it’ll lock automatically (after the door is closed) after 20 seconds (can configure time in app). I can check on the status of the door from my phone, whether it’s locked/unlocked/open/closed. It’s also discreet in the matte black, which is a plus!

I love the product and the ability to make virtual keys to my home. The fact that I can check to make sure my door is always locked and the ability to tell me if it's even open or closed. My biggest drawback to the product is the battery life. It drains incredibly fast. I am at 3 months and already had to replace them. At this rate I'll spend a small fortune on battery replacement at 4 times per year. The instructions even state that rechargeable batteries are not recommended.

Convenient not to need the hub and can use current lock, easy to install, but not helpful without purchasing the extra keypad: took easy to get locked out if you forgot your phone!

Install was a breeze but it wasn’t working properly. So I called August. Customer service was great and they were able to diagnose and fix the problem. No issues since! Would recommend

Looks nice not very big. But with some faults 1. Door must be properly aligned or lock with not lock or jam. 2. Lock doesn’t always automatically unlock, sometimes I have to pull my phone out and then the lock unlocks or when I pull on the door. 3. Will say door is open when it’s clearly closed. I’ve moved the sensor and recalibrated multiple times. Pros. 1. When it does automatically unlock i love the convenience. 2. I love being able to unlock the door for my guest when I’m not home.

A great smart lock. Easily installed and works consistently

Easy to use and install smart lock. Works well with its native app. HomeKit implementation could be better as it tends to disconnect frequently.

I'm a huge fan of CNET reviews and they listed this lock as one of the best smart locks. Installation was easy (video walkthrough within the app) and once set up it worked perfectly on day 1 and maybe day 2. After about 2 days, that's when the trouble began. The lock continuously disconnects from wifi. I constantly get notifications that it disconnected. I believe because of this, the feature where the door unlocks when you get close to the house works maybe 30% of the time. It's EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. When I pull up to my street I get a notification that it's attempting to unlocking the door but it doesn't work. I get to the front door and push to open it only for it to be dead bolted still. I have to pull my phone out and hold it next to the look for the Bluetooth unlock feature to work. I even called Verizon and had them configure my home WiFi network so I can manually choose to make sure it's connected to the 2.4Ghz signal and that didn't help. It took a while to trouble shoot and now it's too late to return it. I give it two stars because it worked great for maybe 2 days. Unfortunately, now I'm stuck with a $200+ smart lock that isn't smart enough to work properly.

Really easy install and works flawlessly. It is more useful than I expected and has more functions than I was aware of like automatic open on arrival to home from iPhone. I got the keypad and it add much more to an already great product as grandkids can use and I can lock door with one button and unlock if I don't have phone with me.

Very easy to install and connect to the internet. We’ve now connected it to our Amazon Alexa and iPhone Home App It work really well with voice locking and unlocking and also the auto lock feature works well and is great when you forget to lock the door or have your hands full coming home it’ll do it for you

This lock is awesome. It connected Seamlessly with Alexa, the install was easy and it worked Amazingly when we were out of town and needed to let people into our house. This makes it so my kids dont “need” keys to get in so we don’t have to re-key every time a key is lost. They can just use their app. It’s working out great in our home.

Seems to be a good quality product but, not totally satisfied with the operation yet. Installation and set-up is a breeze. Operation of the lock is good most of the time. However, sometimes the lock does not respond to the app commands. Additionally, the lock have unlocked itself at random without initiation from me. Not sure what causes that, maybe an internet connection issue. Will consider uninstalling if this persists.

I decided to upgrade from my Pro Connect to the Gen 4 as it freed up a power outlet in my home and possibly resolved an issue I had with the Pro Connect occasionally disconnecting. The install was daily easy and the in app instructions were very clear. Once installed everything seemed to work as designed, but I noticed issues with delayed alerts. I saw another reviewer mention the same, so I turned on alerts for both HomeKit and the August app. With my Pro Connect, I typically only use the August app for alerts as I didn’t need double the alerts. But with the Gen 4, I will need to keep this on u til a possible firmware update. I must also note, the signal readings are always excellent and the Bluetooth going to between good and excellent.

Great product. Seamless, simple, and integrated. Works so well with our Google Home and Apple HomeKit. We love that it can automatically open when we arrive home and is reliable. Most other locks take time to work or are finicky. I've had no problems at all with this device and highly recommend it.

I like being able to come home and just open my door. I was originally having an issue where my door wasn’t opening, then I started unlocking my phone before I got out of the car and my door figured it out and now I don’t have to open my phone when I get home. Weird bug but glad it’s gone.

With the first installation over my deadbolt, it jammed! But once I was able to replace the existing deadbolt with a cheap one that had a longer pin, it worked perfectly! Once installed, very easy to use and set up!

I bought this item and installed it inside my home. I am happy to say that it worked very well and I am most satisfied with this product. I really enjoyed the fact that the product was adaptable to my existing deadbolt. I also liked that no one knows that my door has an automatic opener. Excellent product.

The wi-fi on this item is very sketchy with no resolve from manufacturer.

Works pretty well. Sometimes falls off the network despite excellent coverage. But overall I like it. It was not hard to install.
