August Smart lock is very easy to install and easier to use. I love how I can interact with this smart lock anywhere and time. It’s made my life a little be easier

I love this when it works. I use the geofencing which is awesome. Unfortunately sometimes it says it is disconnected from the network (not the internet, I stream with no issues) and other times it says it is jammed and one time it kept locking and unlocking and I had to manually unlock and lock a couple of times to get it to stop.

Works well about 95% of the time. I wish I could set it so the auto lock won't relock until the doors been open. Sometimes I don't get the door before the auto lock happens. The App can be a little hard to navigate or slow to connect but other than that, it works extremely well with both Smartthings and Google Home.

Love the august platform and interface. I bought this because there is no wifi bridge needed, the only thing i'd like is easier setup for those of us who run a mesh network that merges 5 and 2.4.

Highly recommended. Easy to install and setup. I like that it still uses the normal dead lock so you dont need to change your keys and from the outside it does not look like a smart lock.

Super easy to install and connect. Works great but not really meant to have more than one installed. For example, I put this on the front door and set it to auto unlock when I return home. If I come through the garage, it will unlock the front door. So I had to turn it off. This was unexpected, as I previously had Kevo locks and this was not a problem.

I don’t know if I have a problem with my door or if it’s the lock but all the reviews have seen talked very positive of this item. I love the feature of auto locking after two minutes when someone closes the door. Sometimes the Wi-Fi or the Bluetooth is iffy but I’m not really sure if it’s my Wi-Fi the issue or the August lock. I need more time to figure this out.

Man, I love this thing. Setup was an absolute breeze, and it works flawlessly. Very happy with this purchase.

After 4 months of usage, I would not recommend it. Batteries have to be replaced mostly even I have very good WiFi. Last time I need it, status was LOCK UNAVAILABLE and there was nothing I could do remote.

had a little problem at first getting it working with HomeKit, but after I followed the instructions to reset it, setup was a breeze. Love the convenience it provides to the kids

Replaced my Gen1 August lock (Bluetooth). The Wi-Fi bridge began to fail so I was no longer able to remotely open if family or guest needed to be let in. I like the smaller form size. The different battery setup required me to go buy a pack of C123 batteries. Now what to do with all the AAA for the old lock. Setup was easy and straightforward. I opted not to use the "door ajar" sensor as it was not needed. Been happy so far. Interested in seeing how the battery life is on the C123s. The Gen1 went though AAA batteries pretty fast.

I have had multiple august locks over the years. Solid smart home lock! This one has built in Wi-Fi which is much more reliable than the Wi-Fi bridge for the others. It would be a 5 star review but the HomeKit support is non functional. I am a techie and work in IT and have reset and tried to link HomeKit multiple times without success.

Easy to install and set-up. It does work with HomeKit on my wife’s phone but if you are running an iOS beta you may have issues as I have. Would I recommend it? Yes.

I have owned every generation of this lock and this one is the best yet! Not having to worry about the bridge in order to lock when out of Bluetooth range is great! It also stays connected to the wifi much better than previous generations that used the bridge. The smaller size is another plus that gives this generation a huge advantage. I don't love the new battery size compared to older ones, they use AA batteries whereas this one uses CR123A. Im sure its because of the smaller size so its not a huge issue, just a little thing to note.

after tons of research I came to find this would be best suit for me and Apple HomeKit system I use most and keeping it apartment friendly as to being able to use same deadbolt and key. every once in a while it won't recognize I'm home so won't automatically unlock but not the worst thing in the world.

I have had this about a month now. Super easy to install and set up. I like that is uses your existing deadbolt and you can use your original key in case of emergency or WiFi outage. Auto Unlock and auto lock work as they should. Be careful if you have an iPhone as it will ask you if you want to change the location setting from always to when using. If you change to when using you won’t be able to use connect to the lock properly. Overall it’s a great purchase. I love that it unlocks as I’m walking up to my door as my hands are usually full, makes it easy to juggle my kids stuff and/or groceries.

Love this lock so easy and fast to set up. Batteries die a little fast. Love the auto lock and unlock when you walk up to the door you never need keys with this lock

I used the August locks for the past 4 years and was satisfied. So I bought this newer version and it is smaller, faster, a good upgrade. I definitely recommend it.
