Live Gamer Portable 2 Plus is good for a beginner or someone barely getting into game recording/streaming. However, its software and functionality are limited for advanced users. Capture quality is subpar compared to similar products and pushing it to its maximum specifications causes some lag.

This product is a quality product but it isn't overly simple to use when trying to interface With stream labs, sound issues can be a problemat first. Once it is set up you can use it really easily and it works very consistently with a quality recording/live stream.

This worked great for a few weeks. 4K pass-through is awesome, new RECentral software is far better than their older versions. Overall great device. I took off a few stars due to a firmware upgrade which locked up the device and is no longer usable. Power loss happened during the firmware upgrade and it is no longer responsive. Attempted to get tech support and RMA authorization, but they are closed due to the Virus outbreaks. I’ve used avermedia for years no issues. Wish I never attempted the firmware upgrade. It since there is no support for it, no YouTube vids. It’s easier just to return it. Went with Elgato for a try

Im new to this kind of thing, so its a learning process. However this is pretty user friendly and seems simple to understand and work with. captures 4K footage very well. Works with my ps4, pc, and switch.

Works great! Just don't forget to buy a micro sd card if you plan to do pc-less captures. It doesn't come with one. Also, you'll need a composite cable if you plan to capture ps3 footage.

It's really as easy as pushing a button to record! I haven't used it to record directly to PC, but for recording to memory card it can't get easier. As long as you don't need HDR or 4k, this is the one to get.

Pretty easy to setup. I used it in order make my computer monitor do double duty as a gaming monitor and it suited my needs perfectly. I also plan to use it to stream from my computer and test runs shows it works perfectly.

This product is actually really good! Like really good it does exactly what it says it does. Seem less play through, captures audio and records beautifully. If I was using this on a previous generation console it would get 5 stars all day. The only problem with this capture card is unfortunately it only does 60fps pass through even at 1080p so essentially defeats the purpose of using it with a current gen console such as the Series X. If you can deal with the drop in FPS then good for you, you will love this capture card, but if you’re like me you’re gonna have to pay about $100 more and upgrade to the “Live Gamer Ultra.”

Replaced my Elgato HD60 with this. Used this to capture gameplay from my Xbox Series X. I game in 4K and was happy to know that it allowed 4K passthru. Unfortunately, it does not support 4K 120hz passthru and that's why I bought a Series X; for 120fps gaming. Ended up having to switch my Xbox to 60hz just to get a signal =( The capturing quality does pretty well. Colors were accurate and if you're a streamer, there isn't any noticeable lag. It will capture up to 1080p @ 60hz. If you own a next-gen console and are expecting to play at 120hz, do NOT buy this product! It will NOT allow 120hz passthru.

I love this capture card. It works with my Xbox one, PS$, Switch and Wii U. I love that I have many options on how I can record and that it came with HDMI cords as well. Those cables are short so keep that in mind. Great buy would highly recommend.

The only affordable PC free capture card and works well at it....after initial set up. Getting it set up, making sure the firmware was up to date, and attempting to change settings within the software ReCentral by Avermedia was super frustrating. Especially on a Mac. Windows was better. So my review for the device is great, but for the software they want you to use is not. But after initial setup you can basically abandon that garbage and use something better like OBS. But if you are simply looking to capture your gameplay footage, especially if you are like me and don't have time to drag out your laptop and set up everything, this records straight to micro SD so you can then edit at your convenience.

The device is great and works as intended, the capture quality is nice. It has a little bit of latency because of the usb 2.0 connection, the software is a little vague. I’m satisfied with it so far though, but I wish I would’ve got an Elgato.

If you're looking for a decently priced capture card to get the job done, whether you're streaming from console, Mac, or PC, this is the card to go with. There's really nothing to getting it setup and streaming is effortless.

I bought this for my son to use for his on line gaming set-up. The experts placed this in the top ten. My son is very happy with it and says his online viewers and friends says the AVerMedia - Live Gamer Portable 2 Plus was a great choice.

very user-friendly when it comes to setting up and didn't take very long to start streaming from this. it comes with its own software, but personally i used OBS instead as it is much more customizable. otherwise, it was worth the purchase.

Wow, what a piece of confusing junk. I think that mine is DOA but I can't tell for sure. Software upgrades fail, firmware information options don't give any information or comparisons to what is already installed. So confusing. Trying to upgrade firmware locks the program up. Have had to force shut-down every time. drivers don't indicate anything positive as well. I have loaded the install software over ten times and still there is no indication that anything changed or not. I purchased this device to do some web streaming. I plugged it in to the USB port, Ended up downloaded some vague software that once installed, doesn't appear anywhere on my computer. It is supposed to work with some fantastic piece of software but Avermedia doesn't give a clue as to what that is. Documentation is worse than none-at-all. What they offer is pathetic. And reports say that contacting them gives no response. This one is going back to BB. What a piece of junk. After an evening and early morning of wasted hours, this simply does not work. Get something else. No use in keeping this piece of junk. My suggestion, is don't buy. The box simply is not recognized by the operating system so it is safe to assume that it simply does not work. What a disappointment. And Directions and Documentation are pathetic. There is none. And the online links offer nothing. Avoid at all costs. This one is going back as defective. I'll try a few more hoping to make it work but given what I have seen, I doubt that this is even a viable product.

This capture card is pretty good when it comes to capturing 60 fps except for the software that must be installed for the pc to recognize the stream engine in it. It is pretty straight forward and fairly easy to use for beginners as well.
