This is a great little webcam. I was tired of dealing with using my laptop camera now that i work from home. The setup on this camera was easy and the picture and sound are great. No complaints that i sound like i am in a wind tunnel. It sits securely on top of my monitor and it’s easy to slide the cover on it and keep it closed when you don’t want to accidentally be on camera.

With work from home the standard now, I needed a camera for work. I use a dock for the laptop and two monitors and so can't use the camera built into the laptop easily. I needed this for MS Teams and it works great. Easy setup, clipped it right to the top of my monitor in seconds and plug and play USB with the camera. Up and running in less than 5 minutes.

    A good alternative to Logitech

Like many, I wanted to purchase a Logitech webcam for use with my new Mac Mini. But since there’s no supply, I decided to ty the Avermedia PW313. Most of the reviews are from people who use Windows machines, so they weren’t much help in making a decision. My Mac Mini has a quad-core i3 processor, 16 GB of memory, and an Intel UHD graphics 630, so I wasn’t sure how it would perform with the Avermedia PW313 webcam. I purchased the webcam for $80, which I think is on the high side given that it only has fixed focus, mono mics, and a 2 MP camera. It does have a privacy cover and tripod mount, however, which I like. The camera is advertised as being plug-and-play and compatible with Mac OS Catalina. After plugging it in to the USB 2 port, I followed the instructions on the Avermedia website to determine if the webcam was recognized by the system and if the built-in mics were working. Worked as advertised! I also downloaded the CamEngine Lite software, which can be used to adjust picture quality. Following the directions on the website, it too worked as advertised. Finally, I tested the webcam on Zoom and FaceTime, and it seems to work well on both. The mics clearly picked up my voice. Initially, I thought the video was overexposed, but I was able to improve it to an acceptable level using the CamEngine Lite software. Bottom line is the Avermedia PW313 webcam is a sleek looking device that attaches securely to my monitor. It proved to truly be plug-and-play with my Mac Mini running the Catalina OS. It has a wide field of view with decent picture and sound quality suitable for use with Zoom and FaceTime. Given that Logitech devices are not available, at a reasonable price, I would recommend the Avermedia PW313 as an alternative.

I go this camera because it was inexpensive, and I wanted something to use for work while I'm working from home during the pandemic. It was easy to set-up. I just plugged it in, and it worked with all my needed apps. One small quirk is that the front part to hang from the monitor is a bit big, and I had to use my older monitor with the bigger bezel. Also no autofocus, so if you plan on using this for anything other than meetings or chats, you might want to go with something a few more features.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the video cam is. The build quality appears to be on par with other name brands. It does provide 360 degree view but you would have to turn the camera with a little effort. My computer recognized the camera right away. To get the best experience, you need to go to their website to download their software called StreamEngine and CamEngine. Once installed, the CamEngine would be the default for this webcam. Sometimes it is not picked right away and I had to unplug the webcam and plug it back in to have the engine enabled. The advantages of using the engine are better picture quality and scenes appeared to be zoomed out a little (probably adjusted automatically). We only use it as a web cam so there might be other benefits that we haven't realized yet.

Purchased this camera to go with external monitor for Zoom meetings. Laptop screen was too small. This camera works well for Zoom, the video quality is good, sound works great and easy to install. Also like the built in cover to block the lens when not in use.

This is the first Webcam I've used and now I've used it once (for the ever-popular ZOOM meeting). SO happy that it is tiny, fits perfectly on the monitor, and all I had to do was plug it in! Would recommend this camera/mic combo to anyone. It cost $20 more than I intended to pay, but I think the camera quality made that worth it. The small size will also be helpful if I need it for a meeting at another location. Excellent!

    Easy Set up

Great webcam for dong zoom meetings/calls. It's a "plug/play" device with no set up required. I use it to conduct a bootcamp class in an exercise room. Here are my pro's and con's: Pro's: 1. Easy set up, fast. 2. Good to average video quality 3. Audio is ok as long as you are in front of computer. Since I'm teaching a class, I'm on the move in front of my computer, but constantly moving 5 to 10 feet away from webcam/computer. Therefore audio is ok, and sometimes cuts out. Con's: 1. Audio is my only major "con." And I think it's not fair of me to rate this as a "con" because I'm about 5 to 10 feet away from webcam/computer as I am teaching a bootcamp class via zoom. Whenever I move in close to the webcam to adjust something, and I happen to be speaking, the audio is great. But once I move back away from webcam, audio is ok, but as mentioned earlier, it sometimes cuts out. Conclusion, I bought this because I was not happy with quality of my laptop's webcam, and wanted a "step-up." I would recommend this webcam for doing things like zoom or where you are in front of your computer. I like that it is very easy to use and set up.

I used my laptop camera mostly, this far exceeds great quality, microphone seems to pick up low volume talking. Has a privacy guard, just slide it across in front of the camera.

The packaging is very good, and keeps the webcam safe in transit. It is very easy to setup, and although it feels like it will fall, it has not fallen yet in a month of use. It is easy to setup, I just had to plug it in and it worked. The picture quality is good, not fully what I was expecting, but good. There might be setting that need to be ticked in order for better quality that I have not been able to look into yet.

Although instructions for setup and use of camera are minimal, the set up is actually very simple.... plug and play. I do recommend downloading the camera engine from the AVerMedia website. The camera gives quality picture and the microphone is good. Camera attaches easily to PC monitor or can sit on computer table and has a privacy cover. Price is a little high in my opinion.

This camera was easy to set up. I love the privacy shutter & use it whenever I'm not using the camera. I had problems downloading & using some of the features (i.e. changing or blurring my background while I'm on a phone conference. I must confess that I still have not found the solution to this issue. Otherwise, I love the camera.

High quality picture, even in low light. It has a built in microphone that is very clear and picks up low level sounds. It also has a built in cover you can slide to hide the camera. It can be mounted and adjusted easily on a monitor or laptop.

The webcam works perfectly at the 1080 and 30 frames without any lag like so many others. Images and videos are clear too. The privacy shutter is a nice added feature as well, especially with younger kids using the computer at times. Overall, I highly recommend this camera, especially for webcasting or using Zoom, and Webex

Picture and sound are great. I especially like the small sliding flap to cover the camera when I want to make sure it is off. Its easy to see when its one because a small blue light glows just to the left of the camera. Easy to install in my Windows 10 machine - just plug and play.

Like so many others starting to do more video calls working remotely, i needed an upgrade to my stock webcam in my PC. Picture and mic quality are great so far! It’s got a sleek look, and even had a privacy slider to cover the cam when not in use. Great pickup for the price!
