They performed as advertised, but nothing exciting! What can one say about an adware and virus protection program? Either it performs or it doesn't.

I have used AVG for several years, and this is the second time I have purchased AVG Ultimate. I love the AVG TuneUp which is a part of this anti-virus package.

Nice to have security software that handles most devices. It ensures security while browsing without worries of virus'. Too bad it doesn't help with COVID...

It has it's own browser, VPN, and easy to install. I've only had it installed for a short time but I'm enjoying it so far no complaints.

OK, I could knock a star for stuff I wish this had but that would not be fair since this is primarily AntiVirus and Internet Security. For those two portions of the suite, it is hard to beat the speed and how light the app is. I really notice no slowdown due to antivirus like some antiviruses that almost act worse than the virus they protect you from. This is so fast and light I thought it was not doing anything, until it caught a trojan on my sons machine. Something other antivirus providers did not find or could not clean. Some nice bolt on apps I like are: -TuneUp to clean up registry and junk from the PC. Also notifies of applications with updates. TuneUp is also available for Mac but it is mostly a file cleaner more than anything. -VPN is also included although it is easily detected by anything that is running like YouTube TV which forces you to exit VPN so they can determine your location. -Password protection for PC. More on this later. -Secure browser which is basically Chrome on lock down. There are some wish it hads: -Password protection would be nice if it was also available on Mac, Chrome OS, Android and iPhone and sync them would be an excellent addition. Having password protection only at the PC makes the product painfully limited. -Driver update is a paid add on. For something called Ultimate, it would make sense to include something like this. Could do without: -The Android virus scanner seems like a waste to me. If you only install from the Play store, most infected apps are found by Google and removed from the store and the phones. The ones that aren't, probably are not worth installing anyhow. Really who needs a flashlight app today when almost every skinned or current version of Android has that built in. If you side load, you are asking for issues if you don't know what you are doing. -Ads. I don't want to click on a link in a paid application and get an add for the Driver Updater. At least mark this as an add on and not make it look like part of the program suite. Overall, this is a really great release. I have been using Avast/AVG for at least 10 years now, probably longer.

If you have a house full of laptops and PCs in your home like I do, you may need to go for the AVG Ultimate for 10 devices because it is the cheaper way to go with this many devices. This is more than just an antivirus program. I have used the free version of AVG Antivirus for years and it has found viruses for me, malware, etc. It does an amazing job of searching for threats trying to find there way into my computer when downloading anything off the internet. If you do a deep virus scan you will be surprised at the things that you might not have even realized were on your computer. Another helpful thing within AVG Ultimate is AVG TuneUp. This will help you make your computer run much better and faster. It will clean out old unused files and junk programs that you don’t need, free up space and make things run smoother and quicker. This feature will go through your registry and clean up things there too. I used to have my computer “guru” go through any problems I had and most always he said it had something to do with the registry which is something I won’t touch. He always made my start up time quicker when he was done doing his magic. This works the same kind of magic and much cheaper. There is a variety of options for you to select, some of which are included in this package and some you might be interested in that can be had for an additional fee. I love knowing that I have full protection on my computers and can browse and search the internet pretty much worry-free. The dashboard for this program and all its features are easy to navigate and easy to use. AVG has been around for many years and I would highly recommend this program and have trusted my computers to it for many years without any problems. I like to keep up on potential threats before they strike and make your computer pretty much useless.
