Pricey but works

Great way to add steering wheel controls to a vehicle that doesn't have them. Takes a little work to get it installed and programmed but once you get past that then this thing works like a charm. The ONLY downside to it is the price but that is just something I had to overlook. I previously had purchased the Pioneer steering wheel controls and unless you put it on the outside of the wheel and were aimed right at the receiver then hang it up it wasn't going to work. This thing does exactly what it says it will.

Works well, but it's too large.

This works well and is quite nice for changing the volume without taking your eyes off the road. Newer medium-end head units don't have actual buttons, so you can't find them without looking, so something like this is very helpful.
However, for me, it's too large. On my Ram, it could fit on the top ~third or bottom ~half of the wheel. On the top, it gets in the way of the gauges. On the bottom it's hard to use. I tried it on the shifter lever, and it was better than on the wheel but still I didn't like it. I ended up returning it and getting a NOS stalk version of this product (the stalk is no longer made).

This is great for someone with an older vehicle. Controls radio function very well. My only complaint would be the way unit mounts on the stearing wheel allows it to move when accessing buttons.

Only product in this category I could find. Works ok but there is a delay sometimes with the alpine ilx-207.

Plugs into any metra harness that supports aswc-1

One detail about this kit that was not mentioned anywhere is that it can be plugged into most metra wiring harnesses with no wire splicing at all, if the harness has a SWC port(like a 3.5mm headphone plug), it should work. You may need to add the female jack depending on your head unit. This was nice for me because otherwise I would have needed to cut wires and resolder to get this working.
One flaw in this is button programming. It's a long complicated procedure that relies on seeing the LED in the receiver, which is buried in your dashboard. You can just program one button at a time, you need to do all of them in the exact order. It does come preprogrammed though, so if you like accidentally pressing "Source" you can use it without programming.
